At 23:25, Rudeus actually used 4 different types of magic, all four elements were used excellently by him. First he uses a fire blast, then at 22:57 he uses a gust of wind to change his direction and dodge to the right, then he uses Quagmire which is an earth spell to turn the earth into slippery mud, finally a splash of water to dodge backwards evading his father's strike, all in all a great but short fight against an advanced ranked swordsman.
5 years of pre-production does this, also a studio that binded (pun intended) a group of talented people that love a series and found an animation studio just to create the best anime for their favorite novel/manga.
8:12 Roxy: "Far to the north of here, beyond those mountains, is a country called Ranoa." Rudy: "What's it like?" Roxy: "In winter, it's very cold and cover in deep snow. The snow piles up this high." Sketches a height above her head with her hand. Rudy and the Narrator: "That's amazing. I'd love to see it. Next season, bro.
One of the things I really liked in volume 2 of the LN that I wish they'd been able to incorporate in the anime somehow is at the end of every chapter they would do an "Eris status" where they would summarize her education (reading, math, etiquette, etc), training (sword ability, magic ability), and things she likes. Midway through the book Rudeus becomes included in the things that Eris "likes". In the final chapter, a new entry has been added, "Things Eris loves", Rudeus being the one and only thing in this category. I have no idea how they could have possibly incorporated it, but it was so cool to read it.
Fun fact! To my knowledge, the studio in charge of Mushoku Tensei came up *specifically to create this series*. Like day one they decided they wanted to animate this series, and worked their way to this point and it seriously shows!
@@Ikajo The "Studio that was basically created for MT" is Studio Bind. Egg Firm is a company focused on production, planning and management for anime and is working with Studio Bind on MT. Fun fact Kawahara Reki, the author of SAO, , anime scriptwriter Ichiro Okouchi, afaik heavily involved in the creation of Code Geass, and anime director Akiyuki Shinbo, who directed stuff like the Monogatari series, Sangatsu no Lion and Madoka Magica, are apparently some of the shareholders of Egg Firm since one year after it's founding.
This video actually got me interested in the show! So after like 3 minutes I paused and saw the first half of the anime myself! And it's awesome! Nothing makes me as happy as a good story like this and I have no idea where it's gonna take us ^^! Amazing anime and very well done video like usual^^ I love how much light you put on the art aspect of these series, to underline the hard work that goes into them^^ I appreciate a very nicely painted background now when I see it :>
13:48 this I resonate so very much with. I just love games/anime with great sceneries, to the point that I sometimes just play/watch them solely for scenery shots. It's the reason why I love games like Dragon Quest 11 or Breath of the Wild. So nice to see someone else has the same taste!
I'm really happy you're covering this show. The LN and anime are both amazing, and I absolutely adore the character writing and world building that is ALWAYS present. Everything is deliberate and will pay off later, regardless of how minor a name drop or quick appearance may seem, and that's beautiful to see. Also just want to say Paul might honestly be my favourite character as of the 12th book, followed by Rudeus, Eris, Roxy and Elinalise.
I gotta say i love how jobless reincarnate handles rudeus aging. It's such a slow burn with smooth transition that you often dont notice it by the episode but before you know it he's 5, then 10, then so on. It's a lot like a parent watching their child grow up.
Yeah I really love when shows like Mushoku Tensei tackle 'adult' topics, it feels so much more raw, unfiltered, and real... Anything to do with sex is often taboo in most other shows (most anime just tease stuff like that slightly if at all), and when it is present it's often the focus like "hur hur look guys we're tackling something you aren't used to seeing" or "hey guys look our show is quirky and not like any other shows" (like interspecies reviewers or redo of healer). Mushoku Tensei really manages to make the inclusion of sex and stuff like that feel natural. It feels like a whole other world...
it was mostly to anime bearing a stigma of "kids cartoons" on the west. Anime requires more financial investment than manga, hence it HAS to be successful and preferably worldwide. And you know US, if they think it's child's cartoons and there is sex - it's a big no no. Nowadays more and more people aknowledge anime on the same level as TV-shows. Hence anime can become more and more mature without fear of being put on same shelf with hentai... khem... Redo of Healer... khem...
great video. This anime is in my top five. I feels a bit like one-punch man where it feels like the studio loved the source material and went far beyond to do it justice.
Per your request, one like and comment. This is genuinely my favorite anime. The characters feel so real and flawed, the animation and world building are immaculate, the story is well paced and kept me hooked from the first episode. I can clearly see the love put in to this work of art
Im at minute 20 now, you asked about our thoughts on Paul and the cheating thing. In my personal Opinion I love Paul. I love how in Mushoku tensei the characters have flaws and so does Paul. Paul in his mid 20's so also not that old, and having him have real problems like cheating or for example wanting to be mad at rudeus, because Rudy was always perfect and he wanted to act like a dad does make him feel very real.
Can't imagine the pain you must have had having to edit this down for the Tubes. Great video and I look forward to the next part (and Black Clover final part.... HYPE).

Absolutely had a great time watching this anime with my kids, from OP all the way through it was so well put together! So glad to be going back and rewatching a lot of these Win videos is so much fun and makes me go back and watch or rewatch new/old animes.
In rewatching this show atm, I just realized what every episode's OP reminds me of; they remind me of games like Final Fantasy, that often have cutscenes when you enter a new area or city, showcasing the entire area you're about to explore.
Watching these videos is just an awesome reminder of why i love each of this series so damn much, it usually blends in the head as an "Idk, i liked it so it must be gud", and this video refreshes all of it!
This series is very dear to my heart and has gotten me through some tough times. To see it get its own studio full of people who must truly treasure not only this series but their work in general shows in every single shot and frame. Ive probably watched it 5times since it came out
2:32 : I have heard that someone actually was able to decipher the letters of the language and figured out that the text makes actually sense and is about magic.
I had been hearing so much about Mushoku Tensei for something like a year before it came out, and I surpassed the expectations I had for it. By a quite a lot. The way it some how made seeing him go from a newborn to an older child in just 3 episodes NOT feel rushed? Perfect.
I can't believe he didn't put that part at the end of ep. 11 where Rudy is holding Eris's hand and thinking about erasing an entire city from the map...is so "impactful" because you believe him that he is able to do it...and he might do it.
Rudy realized that Silvie was actual Silvia, and lightning flashes - the French term for 'love at first sight' is 'lighting strikes'. That's the moment that Rudy fell in love with Silvia.
You will love the Magical Research aspect of this show as well. As a HCI and AI researcher I can attest that the concept of putting forth a hypothesis, going through failure of proving it, fixing that hypothesis and the experiment and finally succeeding is shown quite accurately. Both the magical system and magical research resembles real life science quite a bit.
28:26 An interesting thing for you that is likely never gonna be properly explained in anime alone: Gilane used a sword technique that is supposed to be as fast as light. The colourful effect (including the intentional darkness) there is actually a simulation of how would an observer see the outside world during acceleration and after de-acceleration.
You gotta just appreciate how they first of all came out with this anime adaptation out of nowhere, they gave it absolutely incredible visuals and animations, some of the deepest lore and character building, AND they even merge the OPs and EDs into the show itself because they just have so much content they want to dedicate to each episode. And then they even came out with a season 2 in very quick succession. All in all, this should be the poster child of how to make a proper anime! Kudos to everyone involved in Mushoku Tensei. Truly one of the all time greats from this era of anime.
Things have gotten to the point where I watch an Anime Wins video about an anime before deciding to start it! This channel is what encouraged me to pick up Yakusoku no Neverland and Kaguya sama. And now, it seems like I will have to give Mushoku Tensei a try too. Thanks!
The thing that makes me absolutely love this series more than others is how much of a fantasy that this series actually feels in comparison to other Isekai. Actually pretty nuts.
As someone who read the WN & LN, this story has absolutely consumed me!! Even months after finishing the LN, again, I still find myself doing extensive reading on wikia about the world, lore, characters and everything else. Anime fans, I encourage you All to read the LN's. Truly, they are a work of art and I wouldn't be surprised if they gain huge notoriety and following 5yrs from now. 23:38 So he actually uses like 5/6 different kinds of magic when counting melded(mixed) as a separate magic, Fire, Air(to launch himself, but he also does use air + fire to create an explosion to propel himself in the LN IIRC), the sinking spell is a meld of water and earth.

@22:36 Rudy actually used 4 elements. Starting with Fire in an attempt blind/daze Wind to dodge the first attack by pushing himself sidewards. Earth to change the property of the ground from solid to mudlike. Water to kick off the ground and slide backwards.
Ngl my dumbass got to the end of you watching the second episode and once the episode ended by habit I clicked away from the video thinking the whole video had finished had to come back as soon as I realised😂

My theory why Roxy can’t do chantless water magic. She sees it as magic, mana turning into water. While Rudy knows basic science. By using magic to gather water vapor then condensing it it forms water.
It's literally a firm concept of this world, from certain age and forward, it's impossible to grow your mana and learn to made chantless spells, it's like learning a language being older, it's almost if not outright impossible to get rid of your accent.

Something a lot of people forget, but is absolutely nailed by this anime is sound design. It's really subtle but when you take a closer look you realize how well executed it is here
The fact the folks making the anime created the studio just to make sure they can adapt all the story is simply incredible. The dedication and love for this project is immense, as we get to see the life of Rudeus " the Quagmire " Greyrat!!!
My main reason of loving this series is that this anime/manga isn't what you would think of an isekai where you are reborn, fight demon king and return or something like that. This anime is quite literally illustrating and animating Rudeus's beginning of his new life, and tells/shows us the events that happen and how he resolves the situation he's in. He's trying to live a life as a new person and not following the stereotype of a fantasy protagonist. This is truly a story to behold as you're witnessing a person living their life with ups and downs. He still harbors his old memories and tendencies as to which leads him into perverted fantasies, which I like about him; still keeping his habits as he wasn't reborn into a new person with new personalities, but merely being reborn as if it's a chance to do better in life.
As always, a phenomenal video! Love your content and am always looking forward to seeing some of my favorite shows get reviewed by you. Also I genuinely love your reactions!!!

The mad lad did it...I must hear the praises for Roxy the Tormentor...
5 years of pre-production does this, also a studio that binded (pun intended) a group of talented people that love a series and found an animation studio just to create the best anime for their favorite novel/manga.
I truly believe that Rudeus never had a chance to live his life in his previous one, so giving him all the hate for being ''older'' it's just unfair
What does bigger mean???
@@myoldchannel0 overweight I believe
@@eyrietracer no. Older
Agreed, mental maturity grows with experience not with time.
@@myoldchannel0 i meant older, sorry
8:12 Roxy: "Far to the north of here, beyond those mountains, is a country called Ranoa."
Rudy: "What's it like?"
Roxy: "In winter, it's very cold and cover in deep snow.
And Rudeus' 10th birthday is one of the greatest things to ever happen in the history of anime.
Fun fact! To my knowledge, the studio in charge of Mushoku Tensei came up *specifically to create this series*. Like day one they decided they wanted to animate this series, and worked their way to this point and it seriously shows!
I think they are called Egg studios 🤔 something like that
@@Ikajo The "Studio that was basically created for MT" is Studio Bind.
Amazing anime and very well done video like usual^^ I love how much light you put on the art aspect of these series, to underline the hard work that goes into them^^ I appreciate a very nicely painted background now when I see it :>
Ahhh this means the world to me ^^ Thanks!
Same, but there's a part of me that can't help thinking that it's good to see 'adult' stuff handled well because it feels so rare and refreshing.
it was mostly to anime bearing a stigma of "kids cartoons" on the west.
This was so so much better than I anticipated. Loved this anime!
Rly appreciate that!
Such an amazing and well made video your work is amazing man truly mean it.
Ty so much !
Per your request, one like and comment. This is genuinely my favorite anime. The characters feel so real and flawed, the animation and world building are immaculate, the story is well paced and kept me hooked from the first episode. I can clearly see the love put in to this work of art
I was in fact waiting for this upload patiently, thanks father.
There's a good lad, don't forget your homework
Im at minute 20 now, you asked about our thoughts on Paul and the cheating thing.
In my personal Opinion I love Paul.
I love how in Mushoku tensei the characters have flaws and so does Paul.
Paul in his mid 20's so also not that old, and having him have real problems like cheating or for example wanting to be mad at rudeus, because Rudy was always perfect and he wanted to act like a dad does make him feel very real.
It's not really a budget thing, it's just straight up dedication. The studio was founded for this anime specifically
Can't imagine the pain you must have had having to edit this down for the Tubes. Great video and I look forward to the next part (and Black Clover final part.... HYPE).
I initially watched you for Slime Reincarnated, and from that, I loved your narration and total dedication. Men, I also can't thank you enough for being the first person to actually recommend Re:Zero for me. Like you mention the anime for like every video & since I see it in my feed because I'm subscribed to Muse Asia, I just watch with a high expectation & I was undoubtedly in love with it. Now, seeing you also make a video on Mushoku Tensei is gold. I hope you do more animes. I'll continue to support I promise!! Hehe Recommendations here: Takt Op Destiny & The Finest Assasin in the World gets Reincarnated as an Aristocrat
Absolutely had a great time watching this anime with my kids, from OP all the way through it was so well put together! So glad to be going back and rewatching a lot of these Win videos is so much fun and makes me go back and watch or rewatch new/old animes.
Always happy when you upload
In rewatching this show atm, I just realized what every episode's OP reminds me of; they remind me of games like Final Fantasy, that often have cutscenes when you enter a new area or city, showcasing the entire area you're about to explore.
This anime could get a win every minute just for how great these visuals are
Watching these videos is just an awesome reminder of why i love each of this series so damn much, it usually blends in the head as an "Idk, i liked it so it must be gud", and this video refreshes all of it!
This series is very dear to my heart and has gotten me through some tough times. To see it get its own studio full of people who must truly treasure not only this series but their work in general shows in every single shot and frame. Ive probably watched it 5times since it came out
Damn, no win for Rudy immediately thinking to himself that what he'd just done was in no way okay, showing his raw quality as a character?
I can easily say that this is my top 5 anime of all time. A series that I will watch again and again.
You won the like, and the comment. Genuinely Hilarious commentary. You have the sub as well. Great job.
Much appreciated!
@@AnimeWins no problem! Please keep it up
I keep watching these videos and i still can't get enough of the comentary style! love the vid!
I keep being surprised by how AW is so awesome he loves animals, anime, and is a vegetarian you get a maximum 2 wins award just for liking anime
And video games :D
And now you just got another max 2 wins award
After seen this anime and reading the novel I feel like all other anime don't fill my heart
Rudy realized that Silvie was actual Silvia, and lightning flashes - the French term for 'love at first sight' is 'lighting strikes'. That's the moment that Rudy fell in love with Silvia.
Another great video man keep it up.
I sure have been waiting for this!
The moment has come!!
Truly one of the all time greats from this era of anime.
just be a little carefull not to overwork the studio. But with enough hands this should be possible on a regular schedule.
Man I know this is a ton of work and I'm not trying to rush you but I can't wait for the second half now.
Things have gotten to the point where I watch an Anime Wins video about an anime before deciding to start it! This channel is what encouraged me to pick up Yakusoku no Neverland and Kaguya sama. And now, it seems like I will have to give Mushoku Tensei a try too. Thanks!
I thought you were some big ass youtuber with million views, your script for this video was that good. Keep it up bro
The thing that makes me absolutely love this series more than others is how much of a fantasy that this series actually feels in comparison to other Isekai. Actually pretty nuts.
Enjoy these videos soooo much
12:38 that gave me re;zero flashbacks ngl, that really creepy music vibe
As someone who read the WN & LN, this story has absolutely consumed me!!
Even months after finishing the LN, again, I still find myself doing extensive reading on wikia about the world, lore, characters and everything else.
Anime fans, I encourage you All to read the LN's. Truly, they are a work of art and I wouldn't be surprised if they gain huge notoriety and following 5yrs from now.
Just when you think you've got this show/story figured out, another Turning Point comes along and flips the board.
Love dis shit. Im happy you decided to cover this anime
Thank the awesome patrons
Finally it's here, so hype for this one! Everything about this show is so enjoyable.
Didn't think that you would do this anime but i am mega glad you did, love the work you did on this one and get ready for some big tears in season 2
23:38 So he actually uses like 5/6 different kinds of magic when counting melded(mixed) as a separate magic, Fire, Air(to launch himself, but he also does use air + fire to create an explosion to propel himself in the LN IIRC), the sinking spell is a meld of water and earth.
that's why rudeus preferred without staff bcuz he can cast melded magic faster
@@Yoshida.Kobayashi yeah, he might need to use less mana to cast a spell with the staff but he's got a mana pool the size of 2 oceans XD
Wow I never expected you to do this! I am so pumped, you love world building and cities and great animation and this has those in spades.
So happy you were able to enjoy this anime, watching you enjoy the show was like my initial reactions and you pointed out everything that made me love this anime too. I already know the 2nd half reaction video is going to be insane i love this content from you man
HOW COULD YOU NOT GIVE A WIN FOR ERIS' NYAN POSE?! I thought you were a man of culture T-T I agree on all your wins. The anime was engaging enough for me to binge watch it all in time for the end of season two. And oh man... Ohhhh man 😢
@22:36
Rudy actually used 4 elements.
Starting with
Fire in an attempt blind/daze
Wind to dodge the first attack by pushing himself sidewards.
Been waiting with baited breath for this video since cour 1 finished. Sooooo good!!!!
This anime has been phenomenal so far, it just keeps getting better and better!
This it's one if not one of the best anime out there. Everything about it just makes me fall more and more in love with it.
Soon as i heard of this from the video, i paused it, looked at all the episodes, and am now hyped for season 2. Thanks for brining me to it.
Okay as a person who watched season 2, THE WORLD BUILDING IS CRAZY so much happens in season one that is easily overlooked and looking back I’m just in shock

you didnt grant enough love for the actual sound design of this show, so we can at least add 2 point for sound and call it an even 200. either way great analysis of a spectacular anime.

According to AniNews (I think that was the channel) the cat girl holder her sword up like that is to display the sword to him to prove she is a sword lord (or what ever she is) because they are given special unique swords - or something like that.
I love this anime. It's very slow-paced for the most part, but that somehow allows the audience to form an emotional attachment to the characters and their fantasy world in general.
thank you for the insane time and effort you put into this!
The pacing on this is amazing and some of the best I’ve seen in my 100+ repertoire of anime
You know that series is beyond masterpiece if only first half gets 198 positive remarks. Has any other series got this many wins in just 11 episodes of the anime.
*YOU LOVE TO SEE IT*
Side note: I loving your vids and can't wait to see more.
ToId You ;)
I knew You wouId Iove this since I watched first two episodes. Characters have such depth, writing is god tier, animation I don't even have to praise, everybody can see it's gorgeous, and the music... It's magicaI.
I can't name another show with that high production vaIue and Iove poured into it, maybe beside AoT, or 86. (BTW, yes, You wiII Iove 86).

Man I’ve been waiting for your reaction video for a while now and boy is it worth the wait. Thank you so much for the video I was confident that you are going to like this anime from the moment I saw the first episode.
Buen video amigazo!, altas rolas tiran
51:25 aaactually there was one other anime that i remember going with the how hard adventuring really is that being grimgar of fantasy and ash
Actual great video, nice sum up of part 1 and your reactions add some fun to it
My theory why Roxy can’t do chantless water magic. She sees it as magic, mana turning into water. While Rudy knows basic science. By using magic to gather water vapor then condensing it it forms water.
It's literally a firm concept of this world, from certain age and forward, it's impossible to grow your mana and learn to made chantless spells, it's like learning a language being older, it's almost if not outright impossible to get rid of your accent.
love your vids man
Missed opportunity on Win #189. Referencing Grimgar of Fantasy and Ash is also an Isekai close to realism like Goblin Slayer. Aside from that, mad respect for making this kind of amazing content! Keep up the great work!
Would probably help if I'd actually heard of it though right? xD
@@AnimeWins aw man! that's actually a bummer that you haven't watched that one. also, my bad. Thanks for not pulling a Rudues-Paul correction to me (• ▽ •;) Also, also, hope that you get the chance to watch GoFA someday!

I'm so happy you finally did this one, mushoku tensei is one of my favorites
I always keep an eye on your channel and wait patiently on new episode releases. I hardly ever comment and I think this is my first one in a while, but I just had to tell you that your videos are amazing. They always keep me entertained and bring me joy watching them. So thank you for making them, and I hope your channel continues to grow more and more. I look forward to your future content!
Something a lot of people forget, but is absolutely nailed by this anime is sound design. It's really subtle but when you take a closer look you realize how well executed it is here
The fact the folks making the anime created the studio just to make sure they can adapt all the story is simply incredible. The dedication and love for this project is immense, as we get to see the life of Rudeus " the Quagmire " Greyrat!!!
the depressed arc.
Keep doing a fantastic job with this series of videos, I will be waiting for the second season one :D.
I love absolutely nothing more than a good power system and this anime blows every other thing out of the water enough to make someone like me actually enjoy each part, it’s truely a unique existence that deserves the utmost praise
Glad you're covering my favorite anime of the season, new episode as of next Sunday.
Mushoku tensei is so far super impressive in all fronts. Great video!
The OP track reminds me a lot of the insert song / one time OP song from Tanya the Evil when they were launching the V1s.
