I read Mushoku Tensei long before the anime, in a period where translations were scarce. The author held the series hostage, not allowing anyone to adapt it unless they promise to adapt all of it, which at the time seems to impossible that it might as well not get an anime... And then Studio Bind came and a lot of people began loving this work. Hell, they love this work since season 1 which is so surreal, especially since both season 1 and 2 are quite literally setup seasons, setting the big events up as well as developing who the person Rudy becomes. I like how they showed the difference between Rudy's and Cliff's magic. Cliffs is by the book, big, looks strong, but Rudy's is more refined, concentrated. Enought to look back on how he shot that fireball on Orsted previous season. Instead of only making it bigger he tried to focus it into a smaller ball. Same with his earth magic. He created a small bullet, but made it harder and spin, to be more destructive. Also, that scene with Sylphie and Ariel went a litle differently in the sourve material. Ariel was really going to do the dirty on her, and it was Luke who rushed in and "saved Sylphie". This moment is mentioned after as the point where she and look became real friends, not just work aquaintances. Also, i am pretty sure Sylphie figured who he is the moment they introduced him before their duel.
The first part I believe you are referencing the WN. The anime is adapting the LN though. Also in the WN Sylphie nearly kills Ariel in self defence before healing her. Its all very different between the two versions.
Mushoku is by far my favorite isekai of all time and probably pretty far up there even outside of the genre. I have read th LN and cannot wait for the rest to get animated. The story telling just gets even better the further it goes on! I never understand the people who say this story and anime are boring, it really blows my mind....
well, of course Sylphy recognized him. He introduced himself with his name. Also, there is the after credit scene in episode 23 S1, were she was the one suggesting to invite him to the school.
I mean tbf I was thinking maybe more than 1 person could have the same name like in our world lol, also they were kids when they met, I personally would have forgotten someone after so many years, so I think it's a valid question.
@@AnimeWins In Rudeu's case, yes, totally understandable why he doesn't recognise Sylphie. Different hair colour, name and everything. But Sylphie obviously knows who he is, I thought that was clear.
@@AnimeWinsI’d agree with your oppinion/way of thinking but let me add some more context to why she won’t forget him ever with some scenes which you could’ve forgotten. 1: Rudy made Sylphy stronger, more independent and was her mentor. 2: We could see her ask about Rudy (and petting the younger sisters) right before the mass-teleportation incident in Paul’s vision of what happened. 3: In episode 0, you could kinda see her distress at knowing that she won’t be able to find her family and friends with her facial expressions, the greyrats were a second family to her while Rudues was a teacher for Eris. 4: You could see her recommend him at the end of season 1, also her facial expressions when she saw Rudues actually came and accepted the request right before the duel. 5: something completely different, but you could see that Rudues was remembering her wand right before the duel started, but got interrupted and then forgot about which is completely natural in my oppinion. edit: just a easter egg, but in episode 0 where Sylphy fell because of all the noise, It was the same hall where Eris’s grandpa was executed. In the scene they showed in season 1, you could also see Sylphy (Fitz) and the princess.
About win #12, yes they actually DID put words on those notes and they are actually readable, some Chinese TH-camrs along with the works of some amazing Japanese otaku deciphered the human language and demon language, they were taken from Basque and Zulu accordingly with a little tweaks here and there.
Here is the video I mentioned about that Chinese TH-camr deciphering the human language, it is in mandarin but has got English subtitles th-cam.com/video/JGl36uAJ7Jo/w-d-xo.htmlsi=nOkANZZcRZ9NWsA-
i love MT so much, hte novel is just so captivating and the anime has done an amazing job at it, some small details you notice in an afterwatch, when Rudy confides in Soldat about Eris and all, that is the FIRST time he ever tells anyone about it, everyone else assumes is due to her mother missing and bieng stranded alone in the north or losing his party due to his exchanges in episode 1, but Soldat is the first one to get the full story, another fact you may forgot from season 1, Silphy was who reccomended Rudeus for the university scholarship, so in short, he knew all along from the moment she heard about "Rudeus the Quagmire", this series is just amazing to a bestial degree in how much effort there is into details
Man, you never cease to impress me with the speed at which you dish out these videos, kudos to you. And thank you for covering it. Part 2 will focus a bit more on his University time, but I hope you'll find it interesting nonetheless.
So it's an arc setting entirely in the uni? No more adventures, but I suppose it'd still be interesting as long as it helps with character's development
@@lyaluna7047 Yes*! 😊 *He will go to Uni, but take part in certain "events" from time to time. We'll finally meet Badigadi ( purple four arms demon ), find out what Eris has been doing, cure Rudeus of his ED and much more. 🥳 I won't go into details to not spoil you, but keep an eye out for other events, since the ending of this season will be heartbreaking 🥲
Great video as always!! One thing I wanted to say as a LN reader is that the school arc (the current arc in the anime) is easily one of my favorite arcs in the series and I cant wait to see you finish covering it!
Well done, I like that you notice the biggest great narrative strength Mushoku Tensei has. All the characters are VERY 'human', to a fault. They act on their desires and biases even if from twisted sources. They learn but only so much, they aren't just suddenly perfect. They can't just break bad habits and thought patterns no matter how hard they try. They make mistakes and have to live with the consequences. And yet for all the losses and failures, they keep going, but it isn't just them typically, it's someone that helps them realize they need to pick themselves back up. People need to be there for each other no matter how imperfect both parties are.
It's the combination of things. Demon Slayer and maybe Eminence in Shadow have better animation but MT's characters and worldbuilding are far better. Re: Zero has equivalent animation and characters, but again MT's worldbuilding is better. The only anime whose worldbuilding might exceed it is One Piece, but there's no comparison in animation and characters. So while yes, there are anime that do some things better, nobody does all three as well, and you can throw in voice acting and music that compare with just about anything out there.
YES! Didn't expect this so soon. Honestly I wasn't looking forward to this as much, just because I thought this season had some weaker animation at points(although some exceptional ones too) and I figured it would bum me out. But this has made me realize that is has more great moments in it than I thought! I still think S1 had better animation for the most part, but they probably had another year or more to make it than this season. I just really hope when we get to some more action stuff we can get some badass fights and stuff like Episode 21 with Orsted. Anyway another W video, can't wait for part 2!
Take my comment to appease the almighty algorithm. That being said, it's terrible how you're being treated by the tube, your content is always top notch and I love hearing you gush over the tiniest details in some of my favorite shows. I'd subscribe a second time if I could
You're not crazy. Heartbreak is not a one and done and then move on. It's exactly how it's described, it breaks you. Him trying to move forward even though it physically hurts is admirable.
One of my favorite anime of all time so far, which is saying aomething. The character development and realism they all carry, coupled with the attention to world building, and solid animation makes this a anime that begs to be watched.
I love how you have this calm(?) outlook on the story, your comments after each segment feel refreshing and relatable, like it's the kind of reflective thoughts I have when watching! It's nice to see someone engage with this story I love in a similar manner to me.
Your videos always make me go to my mal list and up the score by one or even two an anime I watched, something about how you put together these lovely videos speaks to me and makes me realise how to appreciate good work by talking about details I completely missed haha or some scenes where I did not react to at first making me shed a tear. Leaving a comment for the algorithm to pop your channel back to recommended tab where it belongs!
15:12 guy on the far right is the same guy that challenged Ruijerd once in one of the passing scenes when they were travelling. I believe it was after they found out about the curse, I might be very wrong tho.
Figured you'd be on this topic soon as we're (sigh) already halfway through this cour. I always look forward to finding the new details you thoughtfully highlight. Example: I totally missed that was Rudeus' aunt in the Eris OVA.
Mushoku to me is just the best and most expanded of every isekai troupe. From the wandering adventurers stories, to overpowered school fantasy, and many others I know from the LN. Glad to see it getting the wins it deserves.
Another thing is the attention to detail in this series. We've seen the burn damage on his hand heal, but EACH time they drawer ya boi's face, they make sure they enphasize the fact that he has the demon eye with the small ring around the pupil.
Dragon fight was actually shortened and simplified from the LN telling. Yet it did not disappoint me; I was a bit concerned it was skipped... but still did what I wanted in making it clear why his monicer is Quagmire. The Dragon fight was actually the fight that gave him it... well as a well known thing. Because its hard to argue that Quagmire was the Dragons death. It so completely erased its movement options that it could avoid none of the follow up kill shots or effectively use its breath atk. After all Dragons are not idiots it realized using a fire breath while neck deep in clay (basically) would turn itself into a brick/statue. So happy it got the max 2 wins.
Speaking of 180, mentally, you'll have a lot of these throughout the end of the series. As well as the best part of your review: "... putting the overall story seriously back into the spotlight, that being the Mass Teleportation Incident and what caused it." Yeah... What I LOVE about Rifujin is that that is indeed the kickoff to the story, and it is... resolved, let's say. But it never actually matters that much. I'll only say this, so not to spoil anything: This world has a pyramid of people pushing towards a goal, trying to shape the world in a specific way. And then there's a poor, ever so unlucky, unfortunate, and unbearably miserable girl that made the ultimate sacrifice in order throw a wrench in the whole machine.
I’m so infatuated with this show I may need a medical evaluation, I feel truly sorry for people who don’t enjoy this show and I simply hope I live long enough to enjoy the full story develop from this magical world that was created so well!
I love the OP Firstly because the OP-skip was only world building and visual - musical connection up until now The rest of the season will be in the school so we don't need world building here. Secondly it's a banger, I love the song, and the visuals are soooo goooood with the red bird leaving the cage wich represents eris freeing herself of Rudeus' protection to become his equal but her love isn't gone like he thinks (depicted by the red bird flying around near Rudeus - so she didn't disappear completely) Then the blue glitter from a blue bird leading towards the Academy of Ranoa - the path Roxy laid out and wished for him. And finally the green bird bringing a smile to his face for Sylphiette and finishing with a white glitter towards the sky at the end because she has white hair now.
In Episode 0 your thoughts on it being a weird scene were spot on because from what I know apparently that which you think of was indeed the princesses intention
FOR THE ALGORITHM! Man I'm so distraught over the fact your channel is getting this treatment from yt, it's so great content and yet it looks like you're being mistreated. Love your channel man, keep going❤

YO! Just came from watching your part 2, thoroughly enjoyed it. MORE WINSOHDA!!!!! Feel free to fact check, but I think the writing language of MT is a combination of English and Basque, the latter being a real language from a culture from between France and Spain.
Seeing how subtly they show Rudeus growing physically reminded me of FMA Brotherhood where Ed starts out noticably short and scrawny, but by the end he's tall and broad-shouldered. (Winry notices and catches feelings!) Any time you can draw a favorable comparison to FMA Brotherhood is a win in my book!

It's an actual language made specifically for the show. As is Demon God tongue, Beast God tongue, and later Battle God. The book from the first episode of season 1 was translated by fans.
Paused at 24:28. Talk about perfect timming gone wrong. Not the same set up but I had one of those moments in HS where I was bad mouthing the principle and cussing only to see in my friends eyes that they were behind me... Luck stat maxed at the time meant I got no punishment... WTH man; never did figure out how I was not punished for it. My only guess was they had other things on their plate or simply never remembered my name or who to ask for it. I lost about 5 years of life in embarrassment that day.
someone mentioned in the last one how rudeus magic is inspired from the real world (example: the rock bits looking like drills) and here we had it again, holding the staff like a rifle.
32:06. Of course Sylphie knew who Rudeus was all along. She was instrumental to him getting invited to the university. You see her talk to Ariel about him at the end of Season 1.
This anime is a slow burn and not for all people cause of the subject it tackles. This anime adaptation is such a blessing to those who appreciate good storytelling and fantasy. When 2nd season of mushoku tensei ends at it final episode which i think is turning point 4. I think a lot of people will watch season 1 and 2 again appreciate it more after that.
I LOVE Mushoku Tensei. I don't understand how people complain about the animation and story. The best part of a story is the character growth. I'm so glad they showed Rudy going thru his depression. Eris leaving Rudy with just a note that said they "aren't well matched" right now, of course Rudy would feel betrayed and deserted and numb at times. Of course he would feel the paralyzing fear and sadness from his previous life. I'm so glad they showed him remembering all the people he loves and throwing Eris's hair in the fire to show he will move on. Rudy is so strong with every step forward as he continues to fight the loneliness. This is only one portion of the anime, it's so beautiful and flawless in it's story. Well done!
It must hurt her, she knows who he is, but because her appearance and personality are SO different from the timid, green haired girl Rudeus remembers, he doesn't see Silent Fitz is Sylphiette 🥲
I think the problem people have with S2 of Jobless is the same as the problem people have with S2 of Vinland, they're looking at it as a Shonen and not a Seinen.
Genuinely, the people who are constantly hating on this show simply are not fans. "It's controversial" yeah no shi- . Shut up about it already. "There are things it is missing from the light novel at times" this I get a bit more, but that is the case for every show based on a pre-existing series, every show will have things cut be it due to time restraints or simply budget. I was as sad as anyone else that Badigadi's shock at Rudeus's feat of grazing Orsted was leaped past, but COME ON guys. What the studio has given us for Mushoku Tensei is far and above one of the greatest adaptations we could ever have asked for. The amount of love and passion that's gone into this show is insane, and I am loving every piece of it.
Giving everything a touch of realism... Sometimes, less special effects are more: the fireballs and the bullets are way cooler than whatever magic systems other anime use. Only slime reincarnation comes to mind, where magic isn't just cool colors; really, when people overblow or over decorate a fighting scene, it almost always loses much of the flair. Besides, little details add up and give it life. I remember how I was laughing when the princess' face went to Pikachu shock when Sylphiette broke all character, too engrossed talking about Ruddy... All those conversations palpable awkwardness, one that made Sylph look cute and at the same time make everything hilarious. Every little scene of this series had that much detail, really isekaying us into that world... I still remember when the first series were coming out, and people questioned whether this one would be well done... At the time, unfortunately, cgi abominations were everywhere, and it was "concerning" for the grandfather of all isekai to be born at such an unpromising time. Yet, here we are; this is one of the best anime I've seen to date. Together with a silent voice, wanna eat your pancreas, angel beats, slime, your name, evergarden, some of SAO, Charlotte, relife, overlord, eminence in the darkness, ghibli collection, avatar the last air bender... It is one among the few many that made their space into my memory... I'd say that it is among the top 6 anime.
Really love your content. I'm commenting before watching your video, but you always put out consistently good work. At this time my love for this anime has diminished some what... let's see if you're able to change my mind? Look forward to seeing my next comment on the "Seccond Half" Video.
I love this series so much, the mangaka has a real gift for not just writing multi-faceted characters but multi-faceted characters that grow and develop & AGE right before our eyes so we end up feeling a like we know them so much more deeply since we've been right there alongside them through everything... and speaking about multi-faceted characters: I believe it's why at first blush we really dislike Soldat but after Rudeus snapping on him that we get to learn more about him and his other facets, the same stands for all the other characters, this series doesn't have a single flat character... the only other series that evokes the same feelings for it's characters in me is Re:Zero.

@@stephenrhoades8686 we agree on that one 🍷🗿
Where is the footage of edris from im not seeing it in the episode list
This anime is both risky and somewhat realistic, which is a wierd combo but still works
In the LN it wasn't really clear whether fritz was sylphy or not for awhile
@@AnimeWins In Rudeu's case, yes, totally understandable why he doesn't recognise Sylphie. Different hair colour, name and everything.
But Sylphie obviously knows who he is, I thought that was clear.
@@acid4413 we're talking about the anime though
That makes it even better????????? More dedication!!!!!
Here is the video I mentioned about that Chinese TH-camr deciphering the human language, it is in mandarin but has got English subtitles

@@briankent omg, and to think that there're english sub as well. Thanks a ton, I'll be sure to check it out:F
i love MT so much, hte novel is just so captivating and the anime has done an amazing job at it, some small details you notice in an afterwatch, when Rudy confides in Soldat about Eris and all, that is the FIRST time he ever tells anyone about it, everyone else assumes is due to her mother missing and bieng stranded alone in the north or losing his party due to his exchanges in episode 1, but Soldat is the first one to get the full story, another fact you may forgot from season 1, Silphy was who reccomended Rudeus for the university scholarship, so in short, he knew all along from the moment she heard about "Rudeus the Quagmire", this series is just amazing to a bestial degree in how much effort there is into details
*He will go to Uni, but take part in certain "events" from time to time.
We'll finally meet Badigadi ( purple four arms demon ), find out what Eris has been doing, cure Rudeus of his ED and much more. 🥳
I won't go into details to not spoil you, but keep an eye out for other events, since the ending of this season will be heartbreaking 🥲
I think this is the first show where i have genuinely been craving more, my brain is begging for another story as rich and compelling as this
Although I wish he didn't literally worship Roxy's panties, I cringe every time it comes up
Great video as always!! One thing I wanted to say as a LN reader is that the school arc (the current arc in the anime) is easily one of my favorite arcs in the series and I cant wait to see you finish covering it!
Don't forget that you're a badass Anime-wins sama! You've got this! Always love your work! ^_^
This is the proof that an isekai anime/show/novel/manga can be well written
Best anime in the last decade I’m stand on my words haven’t seen an anime with this much detail in years and the story is nothing but amazing
I am SOOO glad it got the anime it deserved by such a great team!
This is my favorite show of the season, no contest. Yes, even with JJK also being in this season.
Take my comment to appease the almighty algorithm. That being said, it's terrible how you're being treated by the tube, your content is always top notch and I love hearing you gush over the tiniest details in some of my favorite shows. I'd subscribe a second time if I could
thank you for anoher great video❤
You're not crazy. Heartbreak is not a one and done and then move on. It's exactly how it's described, it breaks you. Him trying to move forward even though it physically hurts is admirable.
One of my favorite anime of all time so far, which is saying aomething. The character development and realism they all carry, coupled with the attention to world building, and solid animation makes this a anime that begs to be watched.
I wanted to wait for the whole season to come out but I could help myself and have been catching up every day
Mushoku tensei has been amazing since I started watching it back when season 1 was airing and it still is amazing, maybe even better.
Such a lovely comment bro ^^
15:12 guy on the far right is the same guy that challenged Ruijerd once in one of the passing scenes when they were travelling. I believe it was after they found out about the curse, I might be very wrong tho.
Figured you'd be on this topic soon as we're (sigh) already halfway through this cour. I always look forward to finding the new details you thoughtfully highlight. Example: I totally missed that was Rudeus' aunt in the Eris OVA.
Rudeus struggling with his depression and still forcing himself to get up resonated with me so hard. Instantly one of my favorite parts
2:10 well because they did. That piece of paper which fell off on the ground is Paul's message to Rudy to look for his family.
Glad to see you included the OVAs too!
Hey man! Loved the opening as much as i did?! It rocked 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
mushoku tensei is by far my favourite show recently and i'm glad you keep covering it
Also also, amazing video and commentary as always❤❤❤
Thanks so much :D
Oh:0 how i feel tome flies waiting for your videos. Nevertheless, you again delivers such an incredible one🎉🎉🎉🎉
So, just checking about your title, This Season 2 Part 1, with the second half coming out next year. Love the videos mate, keep it up.
Average 22 wins per episode. Thats basically a win a minute.
Man thanks for all what you are doing.
I love the OP
Firstly because the OP-skip was only world building and visual - musical connection up until now
The rest of the season will be in the school so we don't need world building here.
Secondly it's a banger, I love the song, and the visuals are soooo goooood with the red bird leaving the cage wich represents eris freeing herself of Rudeus' protection to become his equal but her love isn't gone like he thinks (depicted by the red bird flying around near Rudeus - so she didn't disappear completely)
Then the blue glitter from a blue bird leading towards the Academy of Ranoa - the path Roxy laid out and wished for him.
I'd just be over the moon if they recommend a couple of my older videos, they used to promote me all the time and just slowly stopped over the course of a couple of years from seriously pushing numerous videos every week to nothing basically.
(Winry notices and catches feelings!)
Any time you can draw a favorable comparison to FMA Brotherhood is a win in my book!
dude i read ahead in the LN cause show's just amazing
and all i'll say is the series only gets better
I couldnt take the weekly wait anymore so I read the manga and started the light novel… I cant even imagine that I am ever gonna see certain scenes in the anime
I feel like despite knowing what's gonna happen next, you'll still have a blast since the animation is stunning
@@Sky_Liang0104_..__.. yeah my point is that its gonna be like 5 years until the HUGE things are gonna happen. I physically cant imagine me watching those episodes one day
Ive seen SOOOO many people complaining about the Animation- its just hilarious. And i dont understand them. This Series still blows my mind with these suddle, unnoticable scenes that didnt had to look as good as they do.
I just noticed: Isnt this technically only the first quater of season two? I mean, cour one is currently airign while cour two is planned for January, i think.
I was not expecting another Mushoku Tensei video so soon but I'm certainly very grateful that you made it! Another fantasticoda videoda!
18:45 Yeah he's a saint water mage, he can control the weather.
It's an actual language made specifically for the show. As is Demon God tongue, Beast God tongue, and later Battle God. The book from the first episode of season 1 was translated by fans.
This anime has one of the greatest world building of all anime
Absolutely loved this episode! ❤
Here is to the new awesome video! Thank you, and, traditionaly, another unique obligatory view, like aaaaaaand commentodah 😂
32:06. Of course Sylphie knew who Rudeus was all along. She was instrumental to him getting invited to the university. You see her talk to Ariel about him at the end of Season 1.
Showing my support 👍
Love to see it
Appreciated ^^
Mushoku Tensei is so Goated!
Amazing anime, looking forward to part 2!
So much love for this anime. One of the best imo.
great vid as always man, mushoku tensei has gotta be my favorite iskeai out there
Keep up the great work
Loved this thanks for covering this ❤
This anime is a slow burn and not for all people cause of the subject it tackles.
All the texts can be translated, they are written in a common language! It's incredible even in that detail
Very nice video as always. Love the anime and the way they do comedy and fights soo damn well, as most anime have either one and not both
Wow early content. Hope it will get at least 200k view. It's soooo gooood
Im liking the half-season vids :)
Definitely the best anime that came out in the past decade imo. Clannad holds down 2000's for me and now this follows it in the new gen
Part 2 is gonna be great!
I love these videos ngl
I had to giggle every time you exclaimed "NO E.D.!" I am going to hell.
I think the problem people have with S2 of Jobless is the same as the problem people have with S2 of Vinland, they're looking at it as a Shonen and not a Seinen.
Thanks for another great video!
Great vid!
Great work
We didn't get, "being nice to animals is always a win"
Love the videos! Keep it up!
can't believe you brushed past the after fight fitz kawaii. Great video as usual though.
Got to open on the spicy episodes I see.
I never thought of this as the half way point.
But yes next vid is going to open strong.
We also learn that they burn everything so nothing becomes undead, which would be even sadder for the victims.
I love this series so much, the mangaka has a real gift for not just writing multi-faceted characters but multi-faceted characters that grow and develop & AGE right before our eyes so we end up feeling a like we know them so much more deeply since we've been right there alongside them through everything... and speaking about multi-faceted characters: I believe it's why at first blush we really dislike Soldat but after Rudeus snapping on him that we get to learn more about him and his other facets, the same stands for all the other characters, this series doesn't have a single flat character... the only other series that evokes the same feelings for it's characters in me is Re:Zero.
i cant wait for the next part
