Hi Mate! Greetings from New Zealand. Baitcasters are practically unheard of here, but I use one! lol Thanks for your videos, bait finesse is a new way of fishing for me.
THE REEL TEST nearly all affordable stuff are made in china today, they offer technology and skill in cheap price that no country can beat them. The Chinese is really in good trading though.
As much as i love abu garcia and your video's....when it comes to 1/4 ounce and smaller I'll stick with my ultra lights spinning rod and reels...just a lot less hassle...but fun video to watch.
Yes the brakes remain touchy just like the previous LTX. But they actually worked great this time when I set up the magnets according to how Abu Garcia said, most of the backlashes came from me not being fast enough with my thumb. The Revo ALC BF7 has the same spool as the BF8 but is aluminum and saltwater friendly and a little cheaper if you wanted to save some money
It is cool, it is fun, but what is this for? more problem with cast, what do if be wind? more backsplash. If I will catch fish, I will use spinning combo for this weight)
3:10 I have that rod, with a little longer gen2 grip. But it is still horrible. It is meant to cast by palming or something between traditional style and palming 😞 I haven't used this rod much because grip of it is bad. Wish that they would have designed it same like in Tsurinoya Trout Master. Cigar shaped short grips are great in BFS rod in my opinion.
how big are the trout in that skinny water? have you tried a fly rod and simply roll cast ? we used to take a 4wt or 5wt fly rod and put a trigger enclosed spinning reel on it and it cast 1/64 oz jigs just fine with Yozuri 2lb test.
no trout there, i was just there to test the rod. check out this video, this is where I will be wading in the water for trout th-cam.com/video/JxBmd-Bl9Pc/w-d-xo.html and they get huge, like over 24 inches(big for here) but most of them are smaller, like less than 10 inches
I am 100% impressed. Unless my math is wrong though you are still above the 1/32oz mark. According to my math 1/32 of an oz is .884375 grams and you were a little above that
Anyone tried the ace hawk cu double? The ul tip is rated for 0.5-4grams. Only $38. I gave one to my brother and he seems happy with it. I might get this kuying rod when it comes back in stock. Also do you have air bfs bearings in these reels? Makes quite a difference for the lower weights
if money is no object what do you feel is the best of the finesse rods both casting and spinning? i know it's a tough question but really would appreciate your feedback! was looking at the Daiwa presso and shimano cardiff and so other japanese companies.
it really depends on the lure weights you are trying to throw and how you are going to fish them. expensive rods are mostly due to components and higher end blanks. but cheap rods can get the job done just as well.
nice vid bro it fun to see you having fun with the setup. i wonder how the rod be when hooked up on a fish...hahahah btw, is it possible for you to cast the trout magnet as an addition to the next bfs challenge? the SS air, Aldebaran BFS(stock + afte market spool) and Revo Ltx challenge. that would be nice. im still considering either to take aldebaran or ltx. need a definitive answer tyvm
Muhammad Harith Also consider the Revo ALC-BF7 it’s the identical spool as the LTX but also has a clicking drag like the Aldebaran but at a cheaper price, it’s a tad bit heavier than the LTX because of the aluminum frame and the LTX having a magnesium frame but the ALC is saltwater ready because of that to. So ALC is cheaper with a clicking drag and saltwater ready with the same spool and brake system as the LTX.
Neither will be that great for those really light lures but between the 2 I would pick the XF 50 and only fill the spool maybe 1/3rd of the way full. And the rod will make a huge difference.
Is the LTX stock or did you use a custom spool? And is the LTX you have currently the 'state of the art' that you can think of for casting the lightest of lures? Or are there even better options which may perhaps run more? Curious why you picked this. Thanks.
Not a big deal but a simple search on the web gave the answer. I know you want to create interest but in this day and age, a simple straight answer would have been just fine..:) 16ALD15R.

I think this is a lot of questions and maybe a good topic for a new video! I'm sorry for my English, i'm italian😄 Keep going man! Good job! Marco
good question. maybe the brake system is a little bit more important for fishability. The Haibo Steed as a much lighter spool than the Tsurinoya XF 50 but has shit brakes. So the XF 50 is much more fishable in my experience. I have a video coming soon comparing centrifugal vs magnetic for BFS. So far Shimano FTB is the best for BFS among magnetic. @@THEREELTEST humm. Is this a fast action rod? I am looking for a rod that is 5-5'6 with at least a Medium light to medium power that is fast or extra fast. I need something with backbones. Alot of these bfs rods are very ultra light with moderate actions. They flex too hard like a noodle. If you know of any and of this rod you using is similar in spec it will be nice.

There is a japanese video on youtube how to throw 1g of jig wit Revo ALC - BF7 and the setting are totally different and the reel is almost the same. I know you are throwing lure not jig but probably you do not need so many magnets. If the rod is with entirely/soft action you can throw further. also when throwing very light air resistance lures you do not need much of a spool tension especially with magnet breaks Can you make a video of Revo SX3/SX4 with Ray's studio shallow spool (spool is 8.5/9 g) been sold in China, or Daiwa SV TW with Ray's studio shallow spool - 9.1g?

Charles Testerman I see, almost all in my country uses braid as compared to the western.maybe that’s why I preferred braid to mono or fluorocarbon. I preferred no stretching braid with shock leader or fluro
That is very good looking tackle, but I've watched you making a backlash on every cast... I LOVE BAITCASTING, but I'm convinced BFS is NOT a logical way of fishing with light lures... Spinning reel is the only efficient way to throw efficiently light tiny lures. But, OK it's your fun to try to do the same things with a baitcaster than with a spinning reel... You need to understand the CONTEXT of this video. Once I understood how the rod and reel worked together then the backlashes started to go away because the casts were longer, more accurate, and more predictable. @@THEREELTEST : I understand this video and it's context. But, even if casting tiny baits on a baitcaster can be done and sometimes can be fun, I think it's NOT as efficient as a spinning combo. Don't misunderstand : I really appreciate your videos, but this one was a bit too extreme for me. In my humble opinion, rod and reel have to be forgotten by the angler and become like part of his hand or arm... And this never happens with BFS using lures under 1/8oz. Though, I will continue to watch your channel on youtube ;)
A lot of money for a stick. great video!!!!!!!!!!! You need a baitcasting reel that is close to or as light as that rod to throw anything far. Face it, we buy baitcaster for casting far not at your feet. Even with a right size reel, what's that thing got that a 25$ ultra light spinning rod can't do? Just because it's "high end" does not mean that it's good and better. All they did was made the rod "pretty" so idiots buy them for 10x what it cost to make.
some of my friends initially felt like that too. then they turn to using braid. but its no matter. just throw the lure and game on. waiting for your next video 👍👍👍
Good video. As I can see on the video you are using your right hand to cast, than you chage the rod to left hand to retrive the lure. Why don't you make your life easier and buy a left handed real ?
Great video. I thought you'd be able to throw the trout magnet with that setup. While you can't order another one of those kuying teton rods at the moment, the Rosewood Ultralight king may be worth looking at. It's rated 1-7 grams, the tip is really thin like the teton, and the bend is nice and whippy, being more than just in the tip of the rod. It's 6 feet, 2 piece, and cost me around 50$ on amazon. I've landed bass, crappies, sunfish, and pickerel on it, no problems. Seeing this video, I think I'm going to have to put the Revo BF7 on the Ultralight King, with a trout magnet, and try it out myself, on a day that isn't gusting to 30 mph outside, and windchill below freezing. Even with the BF7, you can set it to where you can whip the rod and lure around fast loading it up, and really send baits flying! It's easier to do with heavier weights, but can help with throwing light stuff. Last summer I put the BF7 on the little 4'6" micro series, and was doing that with a little spoon, for tiny bluefish. I think the spoon I used was somewhere around 2-2.5 grams. I'd love to see you try casting things like 1/32 or 1/16 oz jig heads + 2" curl tail grubs, beetle spins, little spinners like panther martins, tiny poppers, crank baits, little spoons ect.. I throw a lot of small stuff like that, a good portion of the time, when I'm fishing. If you are going trout fishing, that's the kind of stuff a lot of people throw for trout. I've landed tiny fish like chubs, and shiners on trout magnets before. With the chubs, you have to hope there's a really big one in the group lol. I've also caught plenty of shiners on tiny homemade spoons.
Im going to take the Aldebaran +Avail spool out fishing to try for trout once the water around here drops down to a safe level. Ill be trying to throw several different micro lures. I was told they would make more of this rod after the Chinese new year? hit up their Facebook or instagram and ask them to make more.
@@THEREELTEST A little while ago, I put my BF7 on the Ultralight king and adjusted the reel so a trout magnet will drop nicely. I just need a good day to go try it out now. Got around 40 something yards of 8lb power pro on it. Line diameter is around 1.5lb mono If I remember right.
Wonder how this would do on the same rod for only $27: shop.zebcobrands.com/33-gold-33mckgold-04c-bx6.html?pdp_parent_cat_id=208&pdp_parent_product_id=52541 I get the whole BF thing, but would just be interesting IMO.

If you want achiev good distance with 1g lure, first you should change the line on PE 0.4 (the best will be 8X) or less, second change bearings on the spool (hh AIR BFS will be good). Look on yt video "ALC BF7 momo spool", guy on video throw more easily than you.
Hopefully this rod will become available again soon. Go on Kuyings facebook page and tell them you want this rod back in production

Brah, I like most all your vids but 1 ad every 3rd backlash. I watched anyway but Damm...and then no catch. Zzzz
This was just a test to see if it can be done. the fishing is going to come later with the Aldebaran + Avail spool and when I get waders
Larn first too cast, after make a video 😂😂😂😂beginner,
I like to share my first efforts, trials and errors with my viewers, thats why I have a much bigger channel than yours lol
No this is problem,i respect you efort too make a video, but no understand why you use right reels & you are left handed,is complicated and you lost time too switch the rod after you cast & no have good control in hook set and fight with fish, but keep going and good regards,ai repeat, respect you.P.S. sorry my eanglish
Love this channel only reason I wont sub is ad city
its all good because subs mean nothing when it comes to youtube revenue
If you want achiev good distance with 1g lure, first you should change the line on PE 0.4 (the best will be 8X) or less, second change bearings on the spool (hh AIR BFS will be good). Look on yt video "ALC BF7 momo spool", guy on video throw more easily than you.
Im never going to use braid for bfs ever
Bait caster is never finesse lol
Gary Stile on my setups I can truly cast a 1/16 ounce no problem. I do it because I’m not a spinning reel fan.
