    Well, it certainly pays to start at the beginning and not shortcutting to an end.
    Ur Tops PM. Thanks for educational video 👍

    Good video helping my neighbor out now I can go check some stuff on is 3.6 journey. Don’t have a part number for the new relay? It would be awesome to include in the vid description. Thank you

    Thanks so much for this video. (2010 Dodge Journey 3.5 XLT) After the video I quickly confirmed that my fan is not jumping up the the higher speed (comes on at 219°, but no change at 230° and above). I removed the high speed relay and tested it and it is fine. So I now deduce that there's no power coming to the relay. Not sure how to check and fix that, but if I were to run 2 wires into my car with a switch to jump across the connectors like you did (8:15 in your video) when it gets to 230°, (I know it's risky, but I'm willing to take the risk now that I've been overheating for months), QUESTION - would doing that fry something else that is supposed to turn off when the fan ramps up to high speed?
    Thanks for any help you can give. A copy of the schematic would help too. I'll see if I can get that without a proper mechanic's account or something. Cheers!

    is a cooling fan always supposed to be on from when it starts to when it shuts off?

    • @paycheckmonster
      @paycheckmonster  ปีที่แล้ว

      It should cycle on and off depending on coolant temp and a/c system pressures. Thanks for watching!!

    I am trying to find the High relay for my 2014 grand caravan 3.6. The van starts to overheat when I'm sitting idle. The fan never speeds up.

      Should be just to left of the radiator. Good luck. Thanks for watching.

    PaycheckMonster....i'm having a similar issue with my 2014 Dodge Avenger.
    I saw that the guage was rising and slightly overheating.
    I noticed that only 1 of 2 fans was operating. The passenger side fan wasn't working but the driver side fan was.
    I ever so gently tapped the fan with a low grade mini hammer. It kicked in. But now the driver side fan isn't working.
    Could this be a relay issue? I've seen many videos where you can inner change the relays in order to determine if the fan relay is faulty.
    This is done with the car on, correct?
    Grade video.
    Thanks.

      If you tapped on the actual fan motor and it started running. It could be the motor itself. You should be able to switch the relays as long as they are the same. Dodge like to integrate the low speed relay in the power module a lot of times. If it has 2 fans, it usually uses a low speed fan first, like when condenser cooling is needed for a/c operation, then when engine temp gets above the thermostat regulating temp the high speed will kick in.

    So what caused the relay to melt to begin with?

    • @paycheckmonster
      @paycheckmonster  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Most of the time it’s high resistance in the contacts within the relay. After so many times cycling off and on, the contacts start to get a build up. High amp draw from the fan motor can also cause issues.

    My 2010 dodge is doing this. But when replaced a day it’s cooked I’ve went through three of these and I tried a new fan that worked for a week in half. And is still burning up my high speed relay. I don’t know what else to do? Have you came into this issue at all? Where you replace the relay and it still fries?

    • @paycheckmonster
      @paycheckmonster  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Make sure to check the connector. If there is high resistance from a bad connection it will build heat and start to melt your relay and connector. Check the fan side as well. Check fan operation. Is it turning on and off to cool the radiator or is the engine running hot and the fan runs constant without shutting off. Some things to check. Thanks for watching!!

    • @paycheckmonster
      @paycheckmonster  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You need the key on to do the active testing with the scanner. The relay power is hot at all times.
