Would You Guys Be Interested In A Patreon where I sit down just talk to the Camera for 20 min ~ about seasonal anime/anime topics and put out 3 videos a week, would $9.99 a month be fair for that? Open for suggestions!
Definitely watch/read Re:Zero. I would say you should watch the anime first, especially since s3 is a few months away. If you want to read it after you're done with the anime, go with the Light Novel. The web novel is a rough draft(still good), and the manga isn't that great and isn't close to being caught up with the LN. I would start over if you read the Light Novel, as there's tons of info, conversations, scenes, ect, left out of the anime. They try to include everything they can but there's just so much that they can't.
Another thing, please don't hate the MC for being a normal person and making some bad decisions, or having a bad mindset/twisted mentality at a certain point. (people severely over-exaggerate how bad Subaru is and don't understand everything that happens to him actually affects his mentality, and that's one of the biggest things he has to overcome, himself)
Also another reason to go with the LN after the anime is it shows Subaru's internal thoughts a lot of the time when the anime doesn't and explains certain decisions better.
I think when it comes to isekai, there's an avenue that authors can take but it's considered as a double edged sword so many don't generally go for it. And that avenue is value dissonance. Value dissonance by definition is when a set of norms are considered fine for one culture but bad for another. This usually happens when literature from foreign countries gets imported into your own country. It's not even necessarily just spatial, but also temporal. Pre-modern literature has a literally different set of values and themes than modern literature. That's why I'm grateful for Mushoku Tensei for taking that avenue. It made the conflicts, world-building, and the characters much more compelling and it really felt like I'm immersed into an organic natural world instead of feeling like an artificial, handcrafted idealized world with idealized characters.
It's also one of them that makes the fantasy world creative, most of the time isekai throws in a witcher 3 city adds magic and calls it a day which is not the case in MT in any capacity
You know re-watching the paul death scene, i always thought that little smile at the end was him seeing rudy and zenith got to live at his sacrifice which made him happy, but with the context of the prior scene where he was mad a rudy for not caring, i feel like that smile was seeing rudy getting ready to lose it emotionally over him, so he gets to die knowing rudy does care and he was a good father to him
Yeah in the light novel we get to see his last thoughts and it is along the lines of happy to see Rudy is alive and happy that for for once he can play the role as a good father to his son.
It’s pretty obvious he was glad his sacrifice was worth it because Rudy survived and they beat the monster, rescuing his wife. He sacrificed himself so they were safe so he could die with a smile. I don’t think it’s because he saw Rudy was about to get depressed but maybe he realized Rudy loves him, but the main reason was the sacrifice was not in vain
It's even harder knowing that at the end, he still wanted to live when he saw Rudy and thought about all the other things he wanted to see.. Paul's last moments are full of regret. you can hear these thoughts in the Mushoku Tensei Drama CD
@@ItzzKish definitely read the light novel, I PROMISE you wont regret it, started reading it myself about 2 weeks ago, started on volume 12 and i'm now on volume 20, there are so many details that the light novel introduces to the characters, their perspectives and thoughts, in a way that the anime cant do at a lot of times, both are amazing, but by reading the light novel you wont miss out on a lot of cool stuff, like a lot of the development both Rudy and Roxy had in the last episode that was cut out and left a feeling that made it a bit superficial and rushed. Honestly I can just ramble for a long time about the light novel and i'm not even done reading all of it myself, but do read it please, it is truly amazing
The sense of time is much deeper in light novel, not only because there's more events and details, but because it takes longer to read I guess. Going from volume 1 to volume 12 feels like a looong time (Roxy didn't see Rudeus for 11 years and you really feel it in the light novel).
I completely agree sense of time is literally non existent in the anime, particularly in the last season and it makes the whole story feel less real in a way like the thing with Nanahoshi it took collective effort and weeks to resolve and sure it was implied that that was the case but it just didn't feel the same and if you didn't read about it that kind of thing could easily go unnoticed...
@@ItzzKish TL;DR - A little bit. The novels feel like there is more going on which creates a larger sense of time passing, if that makes sense. Small, minor spoilers for light novel content cut from the anime if you continue. It's not massive, but I think it feels longer because of characters, events and extra chapters cut from the anime. Example: the scene that Roxy referenced where Elinalese told her that Rudy was married with a kid on the way actually happened in the novels. This is the least offensive spoiler I could think of because one character cut from season 1 is crucial later on and some extra chapters might be made into an OVA. (Episode 23 of season 2 has been one of the worst offenders for cut content, but understandable why they did.) Another is the sense of time when travelling, or even just an offhand sentence that references how much time has passed. Example: The anime made it look like Rudeus was mourning Paul's death in the inn for a few days, but he was actually there for a week or two and hadn't eaten anything, drinking only the bare minimum amount of water to survive. Or that the trip to/from Begarritt took a month each way, with stops in both directions cut from the anime that create a feeling of time passing.
yes but no. the anime staff has "writers" which are people who write the script based off of the original work to be animated. they are the ones who make the cinematography, "camera" placement, animation, and many other things come to life on screen. you can't just discredit them
@@brendanlucas2905 pardon my ignorance, but wouldn’t they be directors? Sure there are individuals who select which scenes should be adapted, which should be left out, and what should be added for context in video format, and they should be praised, but they shouldn’t take credit of creation of the franchise. Idk that’s my opinion from watching Totally Not Marks anime reviews.
@@gest9007 i’m not trying to discredit the author, but when talking about an anime adaptation, you have to credit the staff aswell. to answer your question, i guess they would be considered directors, so you are right. but their roles still remain the same regardless of their titles.
@@brendanlucas2905 I concede to your point because the anime adaptation is amazing, they should be praised and get credit. If it wasn’t for them and their adaptation, I would’ve have never found the light novels In other worlds thank you Okamoto Manabu and the other script writers/directors!
They had to cut so much and changed some stuff for episode 23 (weakest adaptation yet, but understandable, since those chapters are jampacked with important stuff). In the light novel Rudeus hadn't eaten for almost 2 weeks (he automatically puked anything he ate), he also had nightmares every time he tried to sleep. He wasn't listening to anyone who spoke to him (everyone tried to talk to him but didn't work). He was basically slowly starving to death. The path to the teleporter was blocked by a permanent sandstorm (possibly magical) that only Rudeus could disperse temporarily. So there was no returning without his help. And no recovery in sight. The idea of Rudeus' "getting lucky" came from Geese (they were simple people, since talking didn't work they thought of booze and women). They tried to get Elinalise to do it, but she refused. They planned to wait, but Roxy knew Rudeus real temperament, so she decided to act herself. In the LN she never straddled him, haha. And while talking to Rudeus she just pretended it was for her own sake, very likely so Rudeus wouldn't feel guilty.
do you think its better to start reading novel or wait for the next season to drop? I love mushoku tensei (also Im a PDF file) but I read in the comments that Roxy didn't pull Rudeus to herself in the bedroom and what happened was the exact opposite. Its a big change they are made in the anime, and what stayed in my mind is the anime version of the case. Because they show it like that. I wonder if there are more scenes changed or skipped like this? I wanna experience the original story, not the ''more suitable for the audience'' story. so what do you think?
The only thing the anime missed out on was how close to death he was and people trying to talk to him. I think 23 was a great adaptation. Most people who were mad would've been mad regardless because he cheated
@@mehmetcoskun4437 yes go ahead and read the webnovel from chapter 1. If its not your first light novel then i think there isn't much of an issue finishing it before the next season even start
In the LN (no spoilers) The Roxy x Rudeus scene was waaaaaaaaaay different and the anime kinda botched it up. I think they did it so that Rudeus didn't come off as a terrible person for betraying Sylphy but as a result it makes Roxy seem like she just doesn't care about his relationship
Funny enough, the anime lowkey made him seem look like a more terrible person and roxy just being Arianna Grande. In the end, Rudeus still snapped out of it and chose only Sylphy, just to be tricked that his affair resulted in pregnancy. Rudeus then decided to take responsibility by marrying roxy as well. Sure, the build up to this was more digistable in the anime but the conclusion paid off much better in the light novel. I dont know what the studio was thinking. They could have at least kept Elinaise lying to him in the scene.
They wanted people to try and cancel the woman that (according to them) looks like a child, which as we know made them confused because they can't touch a child (according to them) with a 20 ft pole without thinking about s*x
@@ShiNijuuAKLAgree, the fake pregnancy of Roxy in LN is pointless. This external reason is like "Oh sht she carrying my child, I have no choice but marry her". Cleverly, the anime version skipped that part, and they depict Rudeus being more responsible and more thinkful to his choices. Idk why some fans keep blame studio for this change.
The adaptation of S2 E23 is vastly different from the novel and makes it seem like Roxy took advantage of Rudeus' situation. But, on the other hand, it's kinda hilarious that after the internet constantly complaining about Roxy's design, they did that. The internet was complaining about pedophilia and Rudeus trying to bag a loli in Roxy in S1, only for Roxy to end up being the one to groom Rudeus 😭. What an UNO reverse! 😭
lol the fact that if you rewatch S1 that moment was foreshadowed so much is so funny to me but y’all gotta remember rudeus’s mental age is like 40+ so technically Roxy ain’t grooming him it’s more like rudeus groomed sylphie
The reason Roxy rode Rudeus being completely out of left field is because they cut off so much context from the light novel, I highly recommend you to check the volume 12th out.
Def from the start, mushoku tensei is a great adaptation but not perfect, i started reading the LN before season2 aired, anyways you should read from the beginning to fully understand the series@@ItzzKish
@@ItzzKishthe first season did a decent job with adapting the LN second season not so much since the books kinda got a bit chunky during that part and they still needed to fit it into the same amount of episodes I recommend if you have the time then definitely start from the beginning if not then start from vol 7
@@ItzzKishI started after season 2 as well but I started from the beginning because while the adaptation is good there is still so much that's cut out, it made for a really fun read I'd def start from the beginning
- People overlook too many statements like the one he made legit episode 1 that he had a baby brain. When he was 12 he wasn't 46 thats not how age and maturity works. I mean do we really think that a 34 yo shut in has as much maturity as a normal 34 year old man? no. and those early years he spent were being raised and treated as a kid with a brain that is extremely easy to shape to its environment. This plays as a major detail to his progression and relations, and its just one statement. - Mushoku tensei has a brilliant author who actually pays attention to his own details and creates themes and characters that have actual depth and requirenment for thought. I just finished s2c2 and Rudys last words to Pauls grave perfectly encapsulate what a lot of people dont seem to understand. Throughout the entire anime hes seen himself as a NEET escaping through this new world to get over all of his mistakes and regrets of his last life like pushing his older brother and parents away and not taking accountability. Its shown pretty well In the man gods world where he appears as the NEET everytime and not rudeus. The man god states that hes got a goofy perception of himself showing that its not about what he was originally its about how he views himself. - In essence he has felt as though hes just an intruder, an outside veiwer looking in on this world which was stated right after seeing paul die. So at his grave he states hes a terrible son because he was too caught up on pretending like he was an adult that he couldnt see Paul as his father and realize that hes still just a bratty kid. This entire farwell and thanks to paul is the writer trying to explain to us that his development, is for Rudeus to realize hes not just some character being played by a fat NEET but his very character is simply the continuation of this fat NEETs concious and that all the things that happend in his past life are nothing but memories, they arent who he is now, this realization is why he states "sorry about that, Im pauls son through and through" Its him realizing that this is his world, and its a world he lived 100x more than he did his last life I mean on earth he accomplished nothing, and now he has 2 wives and a daughter, saved people helped people and was saved by people and helped by people; very big pivots in living a life and he didnt do any of those in his last life on earth, besides right before he died. -He was so busy trying to not make any regrets like he did in his last life he saw them as some sort of action rather than feeling. By the end of s2c2 he realizes that bad things and good things happen, whether he regrets them is up to him and he chooses not to the only thing he could regret is not living all of the life he has left in his new world. Those 34 years of failure are simply a bad action, and he doesn't regret them, because those memories have helped him to become the man he is just as every other grievance had helped him to get where he is, which is being someone who realized that those 34 years aren't who he is, but simply the memories that helped him shape the next 16 years of his life. He hated how he did not take accountability for 34 years and thought he was looking in, but the reality is that he was inside looking out at himself from many years ago in a litteral different world yea 34 gone but he took accountability on his 35th year when he said it was time to get serious about life, and not on the first year of some other worlds character sure its another world but that character is him, Rudeus Greyrat. This development is why Mushoku Tensei is the only Isekai that actually needs to be an isekai and isnt just using the other world genera as a crutch for crappy writing.
Ive watched hundreds of animes but this anime and vinland saga will for ever be my favourite. Im sure if this anime was made a few decades ago it would be part of the big 3
MT fell off for me because of its extensive fanservice scenes and no character development change. I have a question.. is S2 better than S1 and worth watching? Someone told me S1 is masterpiece and I watched all 24 episodes and waited thinking when will it become masterpiece then in the end I felt so disappointed and scammed. Don't know if should give S2 a try.
@@alan77744 Same, I mainly was just like uncomfortable knowing that Rudeus in S1 is a 40 year old in the mind of a child. Big pedo vibes, I want to know if this changes cause alot of people say he has character development and stops these bad acts in S2, but not sure.
I agree MT is so good and one of my favs along with Chainsaw Man, Frieren, FLCL(OG) and Vinland Saga....love me some Konosuba for shits and giggles. Damn, forgot about Deathnote, Parasyte and Devilman Crybaby too. Now I'll stop.
I mean, the character was written as a mentally halted degenerate so it's kinda on purpose. He does get much better though due to his mental and physical growth. (And like, what he does it legal in s2)@@bilbobaggins5091
I've made a habit of checking out AniNews and Otaku Spirit for their cut content series. It really fills in the blanks for show. The Roxy scene in particular for this season
1:45 : THANK YOU!! Finally someone agrees with me 😂 Also, to be honest, I kinda like drop this show like right after first season because I kinda like already know the story since I read the manga until the story after Sylphie get married and Rudeus's ED has healed. Because I was quite emotional too the moment Eris left him and Sylphie saves him and his life from being miserable, I was like, aight here's my stop and I am fine with that. Thank you for such a good explanation man, maybe I will pick up this some time soon. Then again, I don't think I have a strong heart to go through that all drama and stuff, I am too weak for that but still, I plan to finish where I started.
Dude, if they handle it one specific way with a tad bit of artistic license, not changing the story at all but by reordering events... you can make it so fucking evil/maximum emotional damage... IYKYK...
@@svenstevenson2245Imagine like in turning point two in the beginning it shows Oldeus’s life like in a monatage without explaining this is a different timeline all the way up to him teleporting back. Then We see OG rudeus meet up before reaching the basement
Inhavent been so invest3d in an anime for a long time it shows so much emotion and some realism for showing how it might actually feel growing up in another world redeeming your self and acceptance of experiences .
Dude... people aren't ready for season 3... Im not ready and I know what to expect. Hell I knew what to expect at the end of season 2 and it still wrecked me.
5:57 people really don't give enough props to this moments, You need to think about what this mean for the rest of the series, not only for Nanahoshi but also for Zanoba and Cliff. Zanoba finally became useful and both him and Cliff were able to work in a project together that expands their horizons where they could finally achieve something which would inspire them on their own fields. This was the moment where they stopped being just Rudeus friends and started to become something bigger. 13:27 Funny thing that in the Anime Sylphie looks waaaaaaay taller than Roxy. She is taller in the novels but not THIS much 15:36 you know that she tried right? 😂😂 That's the first thing she asked him when she entered the room
I'm also an anime only fan (since at this point the manga is further behind the anime), however I recommend you watch additional videos of episodes 11 and 12 in which they explain better what happens in the episodes, because as good as they are, you notice that they are a bit rushed. @AniNews does analysis of each episode in which he expands the episode by adding all the skipped parts. These supplementary videos make you further appreciate the story itself by giving more depth to already well-characterized characters
You asked this question in a different comment, but I’ll answer it here. While you can pick it up from where season 2 started in season 2 (volume 7). I wholeheartedly believe you should read it from the start, season 1 did a great job at adapting almost all important bits, but the novel is just so muc more detailed when it comes to worldbuilding, mechanics and characterization. It’s genuinely worth your time to read it from the start
This show is amazing solely because of its realism. Characters hug each other. Rudy hugged Nanahoshi when she broke down. Most other anime and even shows don’t do that. They would sit there and let it happen. Unless it was romantic. Lillia and her embracing Rudy after Paul’s death too. It feels like real people with real relationships with real love and desire to care, protect and comfort their friends and family.
Yea that's what I was alluding to with the directing, the understanding of little details and how these micro moments are understated when talking about the best studios to adapt certain manga
I like to think Paul smiled when he was dying because he saw the shock in Rudeus' eyes, and a very painful concern he had, which was that his own son didn't care for him which was why he was willing to tell his own son to put his life on the line for the Mom, and it was blatantly proven false by Rudy's expression. He realized his Son truly loved him as a father in his final moments, and it made him more at peace entrusting Zenith to him.
finally thanksyou to say good things to my fav anime! yes may say the second season part was boring but it was a part that was close to my heart when he was slowly getting out of his dipressed time, and the intro is more close to my heart
13:10 I get what you’re trying to say here but keep in mind that small adults like her do actually exist in real life. Plus she doesn’t act like a child either so I don’t really see it as that weird.
the fact that you only have 2.9k (RN) is crazy like, you dig into the detail deeply then you just have a great way of talking it annoying that this is how you are acknowledged like seriously give this guy some credit!!!
The part i like about mushoku tensei was that it is written as a biography. It's fun to see the grown up characters talk about and remember something that happened in the first season.
There's another that Mushoku Tensei did. It really showed that anime is not for everyone and people will always look at things in a black and white or one-dimensional views. I had a feeling that the more the show progressed, it will start to scare away more people from being able to truly appreciate it.
Just remember in season 1 Roxy had stated that she would want to meet her soulmate in a labyrinth where her soulmate saves her, then in season 2 Rudeus saves Roxy in a labyrinth from constant waves on monsters where Roxy had given up and was drained and about to die. I think Norn has way to much attitude for a character who hasn’t had any achievements of her own, her struggles up to the point of school has been offset due to her father taking care of her and protecting her from it all she’s been clinging to her father and Ruijerd her whole life now she’ll have the ability to grow into a promising character while her attitude made sense for lots of it I feel like she lets in to Rudeus way to much when she did nothing to help save her mother other than convince Rudeus to go help save her, but Rudeus went lost his dad technically his fault, his mother is a pinecone, his teacher fell in love with him. Not to mention up to the point of Eris leaving Rudeus he’s been dodging death around every turn dude deserves a break. As for nanahoshi her faults lie in she’s not giving life a chance she’s like I can’t go home I don’t have no magic I can easily be killed, I have no friends or family here. I don’t age. And like I get it but she can at least try to have a life and if Rudeus doesn’t marry Sara, Nanahoshi, and both the beast folk women ima be upset
Nanahoshi's break down was one of the few parts of the show that actually make me cry. other parts make me tear up but being able to relate to her really hit me hard
Keep up the good content and helping better mangaka/manga being discovered. Anime going mainstream out of japan means we get more quality manga and adaptations. That is a win for everyone
fr that so fk up that they just cut off the talk with Lise, Talhand, Geese and Roxy... Now ppl think that she's just an asshole who took the opportunity so she could get a shot with Rudy
@@lutskinu1491 True but she did it for Rudeus before doing it for herself, I mean she saw how depressed he was (and in the anime he was bad but not like the LN) and she knew that nobody except Sylphie or herself could healed him... So yeah, she took the opportunity and its still a bad thing but see it like having a superpower that make you stop any crime , but to use it you have to commit this crime.
God Im so glad I decided to give this show another shot after writing it off after the first episode when it originally released. It's been a month since I caught up and it's still strong in my mind as an easy top 3 show. Also regarding roxy's main design, yeah I completely agree. They could've easily made her appear 18 years old. I'm a big fan of roxy, she's probably my absolute favourite character in anime (before you ask, it's not for any reason sexually), but the whole "appearance of a middle schooler until she turns 150 or so" is kind of weird. Kind of unrelated, but something I find interesting is how konosuba and mushoku tensei are both peak isekai but for completely different reasons. Either mushoku tensei s2c2 or konosuba s3 could be considered my favourite anime of the season, hell even the year after looking at summer's schedule. The same core concept being executed in 2 wildly different ways yet still both being peak really shows what makes isekai as a genre really appealing to me.
It amazes me how the author cooked up this epic tale. It literally just keeps on getting crazier. I as a LN reader demand all of you continue to watch this gem.
If it were just the ladder half of the season being judged i definitely see it as a anime of the year nominee, but as a whole i just dont see how it beats out something like Frieren, or even Spice and Wolf (2024).
i recomend reading the LN from the start and upto current anime, and always just reading the next part after more anime is realsed, so you can have more context to what got cut and what happend offscrean, i do it that way and i find it incredible!
Mushoku tensei is amazing but I don't know how to feel about all the cut context from the LN On one hand, I appreciate that they tried to cut to the chase and do their best at adapting the most hard hittimg moments, but I also feel that the amount of cut context devalues the impact of some of those moments, Paul's death was even more devastating in the light novel because of the extra details from the novel and the time you get to process it
if there was anything negative to say afterwards then there was a lot of cut content from the novels but only a few episodes suffered from it (the Roxy episode aside, I really wanted more of the Nanahoshi celebration party 😭) And Yumi Uchiyama still voicing the almost grown up MC puts me off but apparently a lot of people are ok with it. Good for you I guess. But the episode "Parents" was so far my favourite anime episode of the year. Even knowing from spoilers on social media Paul was gonna die, the episodes execution shaked me to my core, which doesn't happen often anymore between the shounen action shows and another standard Isekai. Definitely one of my favourite anime in general. I hope we don't have to wait too long for season 3 but apparently it's not happening before 2026.
All current works are made in such a way as to have episodes that develop a self-contained story, while the general plot proceeds at a slower pace. You could even skip entire episodes and not miss anything. This technique is based on commercial purposes. The merit of Mushoku Tensei is that it is only interested in the story, you cannot be distracted for a moment. The source material is consistent, in the development of the anime there is no dead time to fill the episode, the pace is pressing and there are continuous changes in the plot. The characters' personalities are well-rounded, there are no good and bad guys, life is shown in its rawest form. Animation and music are at very high levels, with that old-fashioned drawing flavor.
It’ll probably be anime of the year but I believe re:zero would’ve stole it but it’s probably gonna be split into two parts and the second part won’t come out till next year tho if the second part came out this year it would’ve felt like two titans fighting for that #1 spot cuz both of these anime’s are just peak
This series is so underrated. For all those that stopped early season 1, give this another shot. Mushoko Tensei is on another level in almost everyway. It actually has some of the best written female characters for a mangaka/isekai. I still think Re:zero is better and the best writing I have ever seen. This show is a close 2nd
I just want to point out that rudeus takes 1 episode to move is not entirely useless. They are showing how rare it is to use teleportation magic and how you feel about the journey. If you think about it, it took so many episodes to cover up rudeus and eris journey just from continent to continent. That is how they still appreciate the time and effort in transporting on traditional timeline into one day teleportation without interuption of unexpected monsters. All of monster slaying in existing episodes is literally only as obstacle in their journey and this is the only time they don't fight something on journey but at the end of journey (as purpose not obstacle). and i think the next big part is showing how teleportation magic is really special and has a 'delay'. This is really crucial for next story, because i know this series will heavy on time travel. The space between episodes makes us really appreciate the mechanics of the teleportation magic. so eventhough they have teleportation and everything, departure is really emotional at that time because everything can happen. Especially with someone loved you leave, then it might be your last memory of them.
I don’t think there is anything wrong with Roxy’s design. There are plenty real full-grown women that are short, flat-chested, and have a baby face. It doesn’t make them a child. In fact, Roxy is the oldest of the girls in the show.
Nanahoshi has no powers, no physical capabilities, got yoinked into a medieval era world where there's no good food, terrible hygiene and you can just die from taking the wrong alleyway. Ofcourse she has it bad XD
One thing that i was really looking forward to in the ainme adaptation was the portrayal of how exhausted Paul was at the time of Rudy's arrival He's actually so tired of trying and failing, that can't sleep, can't stay awake, can't do shit, so much so that he's in a state somewhere between asleep and awake When he first sees Rudy, he starts talking to him starts asking him a bunch of questions starts telling him how happy he is to see him, just like in anime, but when you're reading the LN, U can feel that there's something up with Paul, until U realize, he's dream talking When finally someone wakes him up And he sees Rudy for Real he starts crying, hugs Rudy tight, apologizes so many times for not being a competent man, much less a competent father and has to get his help, That scene would've been soo good for some last build ups for Paul It's a shame they didn't adapt it
The end of the first season gave me Post Anime Depression so bad I had to go into therapy. Now I've finished the 2nd season and I feel like it'll be the same way.
I highly recommend everyone to check out the Novel, especially after Paul's death. Rudeus's inner monologue was tormented a lot ... and there are nuances for his actions. It;s not a black and white thing
Mushoku tensei is the GOAT. The focus of the season was obviously on the labyrinth arc and for good reason, but the Nanahoshi and Norn mini-arcs are phenomenal as well.
I would like to add that the Begaritt journeyto the Lapan was shortened like we only saw the first half the other was cut, and this shouldn't have any effect on the story as they cut it but Rudeus kills some people(we dont get a number but its most likely more then 1) in that half and its like a real mental note for him(If I remember correct over half a year ago I read that), so like the anime covered like 20-40% of the Begaritt travel time. Not that what the anime did wasn't good 100% what was right for the anime like the journey is kinda just a lot of nothing for the main plot They also cut didn't put anything into the fact that the first thing that Norn sees of Rudy is him coming home with an unknown woman and they both smell of alcohol Ohh and banger video made me reremember just how much I love this show
We've got Cour 3 Bleach and Season 3 ReZero coming in October. And even with the stuff appearing in Bleach (and it IS going to be awesome) and the Pristellia Arc of ReZero, I can seriously argue with the storytelling of MSK it might be Anime of the Year for me, so many clear top 2 moments in both Cour 1 and 2 for the season and both so good. It'll depend on how certain things are shown in Bleach and if they get a particular vibe right in ReZero for me to say it won't be.
There's a whole scene we miss in the books post the battle with the hydra. It was like that for 2 months where rudeus was all depressed. The group was talking about how to get him out the slump. Roxy sleeping with him was the solution they all came up with
also I was rewatching season 1 and when it was the episodes when roxy and her group were leaving the port after she walked in on elinalise getting gangbanged and left. elinalise said for her to join in next time when that was happening but roxy said she wanted to wait for a guy to save her from a labyrinth with boyish charm... the full circle moment when i saw that
Would You Guys Be Interested In A Patreon where I sit down just talk to the Camera for 20 min ~ about seasonal anime/anime topics and put out 3 videos a week, would $9.99 a month be fair for that?
I'm suprised they didn't add the cat & dog, & the princess to his harem... but they could have from some vision they had iirc.
@@blazearmoru Because Rudeus doesn’t love them and he only marries women he genuinely loves?

Outrageous, Diabolical, Brutality 💀😭⚰️🕊️

I’ve watched anime for 25 years & that might the most diabolically planned airing of all time.
We get it already
Perfectly stated 👏
It's also one of them that makes the fantasy world creative, most of the time isekai throws in a witcher 3 city adds magic and calls it a day which is not the case in MT in any capacity
its unfortunate that its also what gives people the most ammo to throw at it, despite it actually being a well crafted story
do you know where you got the value dissonance definition? i tried googling it but couldn’t find that definition anywhere

You know re-watching the paul death scene, i always thought that little smile at the end was him seeing rudy and zenith got to live at his sacrifice which made him happy, but with the context of the prior scene where he was mad a rudy for not caring, i feel like that smile was seeing rudy getting ready to lose it emotionally over him, so he gets to die knowing rudy does care and he was a good father to him
That hurts to read damn. Didn't think of it that way.
Yeah in the light novel we get to see his last thoughts and it is along the lines of happy to see Rudy is alive and happy that for for once he can play the role as a good father to his son.
that s hard man
It’s pretty obvious he was glad his sacrifice was worth it because Rudy survived and they beat the monster, rescuing his wife.
What's crazy is that we haven't even seen the best of Mushoku Tensei...
Season 3 is going to be 🔥🔥🔥
I agree, season 3 will have my favorite moments of the whole LN, I hope they adapt it faithfully
man to read the light novel or to wait 2 years
@@ItzzKishread from volume 13 at the very least. It's so much better than the anime, which obviously says a lot cause the anime is already amazing
@@ItzzKishreading the LN is beyond worth it. The details are beautiful
The sense of time is much deeper in light novel, not only because there's more events and details, but because it takes longer to read I guess. Going from volume 1 to volume 12 feels like a looong time (Roxy didn't see Rudeus for 11 years and you really feel it in the light novel).
Agreed!
Haven’t read the LN but how big of a difference is it
also that the LN is separated into stages (childhood, idk the other, adulthood, etc)
(Episode 23 of season 2 has been one of the worst offenders for cut content, but understandable why they did.)
Another is the sense of time when travelling, or even just an offhand sentence that references how much time has passed. Example: The anime made it look like Rudeus was mourning Paul's death in the inn for a few days, but he was actually there for a week or two and hadn't eaten anything, drinking only the bare minimum amount of water to survive. Or that the trip to/from Begarritt took a month each way, with stops in both directions cut from the anime that create a feeling of time passing.
hey bro, remember its not writers, its writer. the man who created this series is a genius , the books are amazing!!
Hail Rifujin
yes but no. the anime staff has "writers" which are people who write the script based off of the original work to be animated. they are the ones who make the cinematography, "camera" placement, animation, and many other things come to life on screen. you can't just discredit them
@@brendanlucas2905 pardon my ignorance, but wouldn’t they be directors?
If it wasn’t for them and their adaptation, I would’ve have never found the light novels
In other worlds thank you Okamoto Manabu and the other script writers/directors!
@@mehmetcoskun4437 it's worth it, read it
The only thing the anime missed out on was how close to death he was and people trying to talk to him. I think 23 was a great adaptation. Most people who were mad would've been mad regardless because he cheated
@@mehmetcoskun4437 you're a what now?
@@mehmetcoskun4437 yes go ahead and read the webnovel from chapter 1. If its not your first light novel then i think there isn't much of an issue finishing it before the next season even start
In the LN (no spoilers) The Roxy x Rudeus scene was waaaaaaaaaay different and the anime kinda botched it up. I think they did it so that Rudeus didn't come off as a terrible person for betraying Sylphy but as a result it makes Roxy seem like she just doesn't care about his relationship
I think the pacing struggled because of the focus to nanahoshi and norn in the beginning but I also feel that time was needed
@@sinolevi8735 thank god they skipped the pregnancy thing, that was just bullshit
As a LN reader, I believe she did
lol the fact that if you rewatch S1 that moment was foreshadowed so much is so funny to me but y’all gotta remember rudeus’s mental age is like 40+ so technically Roxy ain’t grooming him it’s more like rudeus groomed sylphie
@@lol_histicall4289 yeah, but Roxy doesn't know that. She 100% believes she groomed Rudeus and is fine with it 😭
The reason Roxy rode Rudeus being completely out of left field is because they cut off so much context from the light novel, I highly recommend you to check the volume 12th out.
Aninews is a nice addition if you're just watching the series :D
Yea so If I wanna know about the ln should I start from beginning or pick up from start of season 2

The two swords analogy is the best thing the anime has added in my opinion.

Also, to be honest, I kinda like drop this show like right after first season because I kinda like already know the story since I read the manga until the story after Sylphie get married and Rudeus's ED has healed.
The turning point 4 is really really dark and brutal. i hope this can be animate properly by the studio

These videos are really well done, better than some other people who also do this same style of video, you’re a really underrated content creator
She is taller in the novels but not THIS much
15:36 you know that she tried right? 😂😂 That's the first thing she asked him when she entered the room
I'm also an anime only fan (since at this point the manga is further behind the anime), however I recommend you watch additional videos of episodes 11 and 12 in which they explain better what happens in the episodes, because as good as they are, you notice that they are a bit rushed. @AniNews does analysis of each episode in which he expands the episode by adding all the skipped parts. These supplementary videos make you further appreciate the story itself by giving more depth to already well-characterized characters
This has to be one of my favorites anime
JUMP SCARE 9:15 WTF!!!
"We are rising to the top of anime of the year with this one🗣🔉🔥🔥🔥(unlike another isekai with shield or something)"

The part i like about mushoku tensei was that it is written as a biography. It's fun to see the grown up characters talk about and remember something that happened in the first season.
I hope we don't have to suffer anymore highschool segments.

The same core concept being executed in 2 wildly different ways yet still both being peak really shows what makes isekai as a genre really appealing to me.
if they stay faithful to the light novel i believe this series would be on par with fma brotherhood.
It can't possibly do that since monogatari is returning

Mushoku Tensei has all been very fulfilling and compelling. I cannot wait until the second half of this season
Mushoku tensei is amazing but I don't know how to feel about all the cut context from the LN
On one hand, I appreciate that they tried to cut to the chase and do their best at adapting the most hard hittimg moments, but I also feel that the amount of cut context devalues the impact of some of those moments, Paul's death was even more devastating in the light novel because of the extra details from the novel and the time you get to process it
if there was anything negative to say afterwards then there was a lot of cut content from the novels but only a few episodes suffered from it (the Roxy episode aside, I really wanted more of the Nanahoshi celebration party 😭)
And Yumi Uchiyama still voicing the almost grown up MC puts me off but apparently a lot of people are ok with it.
Good video. You have good delivery.
The TH-cam Gods accidentally recommended this video to me.

I can’t believe they skipped so much content and the anime is still a banger. Props to Rifujin.
This show is absolutely amazing and yhe realism makes it even better. 10/10 for me for sure
Anime onlys are not gonna be ready for turning point 4😭😭🙏
I don’t think there is anything wrong with Roxy’s design. There are plenty real full-grown women that are short, flat-chested, and have a baby face. It doesn’t make them a child. In fact, Roxy is the oldest of the girls in the show.
mushoku tensei has more than refined drama its the lessons from time to time
Nanahoshi has no powers, no physical capabilities, got yoinked into a medieval era world where there's no good food, terrible hygiene and you can just die from taking the wrong alleyway. Ofcourse she has it bad XD
One thing that i was really looking forward to in the ainme adaptation was the portrayal of how exhausted Paul was at the time of Rudy's arrival
He's actually so tired of trying and failing, that can't sleep, can't stay awake, can't do shit, so much so that he's in a state somewhere between asleep and awake
When he first sees Rudy, he starts talking to him starts asking him a bunch of questions starts telling him how happy he is to see him, just like in anime, but when you're reading the LN, U can feel that there's something up with Paul, until U realize, he's dream talking
When finally someone wakes him up
And he sees Rudy for Real he starts crying, hugs Rudy tight, apologizes so many times for not being a competent man, much less a competent father and has to get his help,
That scene would've been soo good for some last build ups for Paul
It's a shame they didn't adapt it
The end of the first season gave me Post Anime Depression so bad I had to go into therapy. Now I've finished the 2nd season and I feel like it'll be the same way.
I highly recommend everyone to check out the Novel, especially after Paul's death. Rudeus's inner monologue was tormented a lot ... and there are nuances for his actions. It;s not a black and white thing
Season 1 Part 2 of mushoku tensei was one of the best seasons of anime ive ever seen ngl
crazy thing is the story keeps getting better
Mushoku tensei is the GOAT.
The focus of the season was obviously on the labyrinth arc and for good reason, but the Nanahoshi and Norn mini-arcs are phenomenal as well.
Just change title to "I don't know what to say so I'll just yap enough for the video to get monetized"
ok
i cant put how much i love this show in too words this is one of or the best written shows i have ever watched in anime history
Not that what the anime did wasn't good 100% what was right for the anime like the journey is kinda just a lot of nothing for the main plot
They also cut didn't put anything into the fact that the first thing that Norn sees of Rudy is him coming home with an unknown woman and they both smell of alcohol
Ohh and banger video made me reremember just how much I love this show
13:07 I've met adults in their 40's that are smaller than Roxy. That's a stupid argument to try and make. I enjoyed the rest of the video, however.
This will always be one of my top shows
IF I DIDNT SEE THIS VIDEO I WOULDNT LNOW IT HAD A SEASON 2 PART 2 THANK YOU
We've got Cour 3 Bleach and Season 3 ReZero coming in October.
* *WARNING! : ONLY WATCH IF you have completed up to the end OF SEASON 2 (EPISODE 24)! SPOILERS EARLY IN VIDEO* *
Just trying to help someone out.
There's a whole scene we miss in the books post the battle with the hydra. It was like that for 2 months where rudeus was all depressed. The group was talking about how to get him out the slump. Roxy sleeping with him was the solution they all came up with
you speaking facts as usual
This season was awesome. But I still have to give anime of the year to Frierun.
also I was rewatching season 1 and when it was the episodes when roxy and her group were leaving the port after she walked in on elinalise getting gangbanged and left. elinalise said for her to join in next time when that was happening but roxy said she wanted to wait for a guy to save her from a labyrinth with boyish charm... the full circle moment when i saw that
Great anime watched it twice would watch a third time.
