    Awesome video guys, I’ve watched every episode you made and your always having fun and excited for the most part but this episode your excitement was truly evident, James had an early Christmas...lol. Kudos to Pat for lipping a walleye for James....lol, only disappointment was James not being able to hold his first ever through the ice musky!!

    I'm from Nebraska where we don't really have "closed seasons" for most fish. I think the only real season we have is for paddlefish on the river, and the only reason for that is it's the only time you're allowed to legally snag fish. So my question is: How does "closed season" work? I mean, you can't chose what hits your bait, if so, fishing would be a lot easier, so are you still allowed to fish these areas during closed season and are just required to release the fish if accidentally caught? If so, what keeps a guy from just fishing C&R regardless of the season, as most people aren't keeping musky either way? Betting someone on here has the knowledge to explain this concept to me. Thanks.

    What size Okuma Avenger were you guys using??? I’m looking for one that I can use on my laker rod for deadsticking

    • @erics667
      @erics667 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Those are really small, probably 1000. Too small for a laker rod :)

    • @InDepthOutdoorsTV

      Okuma avenger 1000. ABF. The perfect size for Pike, Lakers and larger walleye.

    This might be a dumb question, but are the fish shallow because there is early ice? If it were open water would you still be targeting shallow weedy bays? Thought fish went deeper in fall.

    • @mstrchief24
      @mstrchief24 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Matt depending on the body of water, I’ve noticed walleye coming up really shallow to feed till about mid December. I spend my fall fishing walleye in three feet or so after dark.

  • @kc8639
    @kc8639 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Question - At 14:11 you said "this season ends for both species on December 1." Musky yes, but I didn't think walleyes did as well?? I just looked at Wisconsin fishing regulations and didn't see anything on it. Is this just a Chippewa Flowage thing??

    • @InDepthOutdoorsTV
      @InDepthOutdoorsTV  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, the reg is specific to the Chippewa Flowage.

    So when the walleye season closes on December 1 does that mean that a person can’t keep the walleyes or just can’t fish for them in general

    • @hillsteade
      @hillsteade 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Cant fish for them and if you accidentally catch one you have to release it

      4-5" in the bays. There was still a lot of open water out on the main like or in neck down areas though so be vigilant.

    • @hillsteade

      Walleye is open until March 1st in wisconsin, depending on the fishery your at. Musky is nov. 30th in the northern zone depending on the fishery. I would check the WI dnr website for additional info
