Met James Holst at Bayshore resort bait and tackle when this was shot. Got a pic with him then caught my pb walleye after was a great day.

Great "Spot On" as always!! Finding the fish is the hardest part of fishing. You can have all the coolest and best gear but if your not on the fish, it doesn't help any!

Thanks ACO! You couldn't be more right. Finding the fish is the biggest challenge. Once you find them catching them is often the easier part of the deal.

It’s nice to see the crew coming to Michigan more! Too bad the season hasn’t been more cooperative for everyone though. Can’t believe you guys didn’t have more ice up there this time of year. A decent day on the ice regardless though!
The ice was really sketchy. We had pockets of open water nearby and variable ice thickness. Cold weather is definitely needed to firm things back up!

@@AquaSooner Ya. Heard a guy went through at Brushy Creek last week. Fluctuating temps really hosed up that good early ice we had up here in North Central.
Ice thickness not any better way up here in Downeast Maine.

What makes you think that the fish are migrating south away from the various rivers that enter the upper bay throughout the winter? This is where they spawn come spring so common knowledge would suggest they are actually moving north not south.

I can't believe you guys made it out on the ice. Was this just before Christmas? Went out on indian lake outside of manistique and ice conditions were pretty sketchy with a lot of slush. Still a great walleye fishery as is little Bay!
great video as always, not looking good for us in upstate New york this ice season. 10 day forecast is not at all condilussive to making ice
Another great episode. I've used your tips on your shows for soft water. Now I have to learn how to fish on the ice. Can you spend more time on how you set up your tip ups. I mean actually show from start to finish. My kids keep asking me questions like what kind of hooks, how to bait minnows properly, and how to get the bait at the right depth and set the poles in the holders. I've never done any of this before. The only way I can learn is by watching shows like yours. My kids say they can't figure anything out because all they see is you guys pulling fish out of a hole. Believe me, their questions are endless. And I don't know what to tell them because you don't show anything specific while on the ice. Please do at least one show where you explain what line you use, size hooks, and how you get the line set up and into the holder. I can't teach them how to do it right if I don't know the right way to do it.

Great episode guys! What do you do with your leftover minnows? Freeze them and thaw when needed?
We dispose of them properly after every shoot. We don't try to freeze and rethaw.

We've always had our best luck on the larger suckers but I wouldn't hesitate to try shiners at all.

No. Trucks, snowmobiles, and boats don't run on TH-cam likes. we are able to put out new content every week from all across the ice belt because we p take full advantage of monetization on TH-cam. If our programming is not your cup of tea, we understand.
For the quality of content IDO puts out and the on the spot info ill gladly sit and watch a few commercials and “endure” some product placement.
At my lake there are no walleyes that size
