The designers, engineers, and the bean counters in the automotive industry should be forced to work on the crap they built for a couple decades before they're allowed to have any input into building anything else....I bet they'd change the designs real quick if they had to work on everything they designed, engineered, and the bean counters would have an actual understanding of the time, and cost associated with repairs. Coolant everywhere, that's normal for any cooling system related work, at some point you will wear it. Kind of like pulling the drain pan on a transmission, at some point you are gonna wear ATF no matter how careful you are, and how much of the ATF you try to get out before dropping the pan....another annoyance with most automakers, they couldn't spend a couple cents and install a damn drain plug in the transmission pan...oh that's right, they use the "lifetime fluid" excuse. That's one up on Subaru, even with their CVT's they actually had enough brains to install drain plugs in their CVT pans, since you are supposed to service them somewhat frequently....I think every like 35-40k if I recall.
