Genoooo! That’s my quarterback! As a hawks fan I love him but I love his story more. Stayed quiet, stayed humble, and kept learning and working behind Russ. Sure his INT numbers don’t look great this year, but 95% of them are caused by our bad OL. We’ve got a bottom 3 OL in pressures but Geno is top 10 in QB stats - only a couple guys could have the production he’s had while constantly under siege.
I’ve always loved Geno Smith. My Dad went to the same school as him and I got the pleasure of watching him play in college twice. I was at the 2012 Orange Bowl where West Virginia put up 70 on Clemson and Geno threw 6 touchdowns. That West Virginia team was amazing too watch. And now that I’m a Seahawks fan, I’ve loved Geno Smith even more. I love his story and he’s such an underrated quarterback. I’m so happy he got his bag and now he’s ballin out just like he did in College
One of the most random and unlikely comebacks ever. He would have been remembered as the dude that missed a season because his lineman punched him in the face and the dude that ended Eli's ironman streak but he took over from Russ in Seattle and shocked everyone! Really cool to see him thrive now! 💯🔥
I think this speaks to the importance for a lot of rookie QBs to sit behind a vet and learn. Quarterbacks like Geno or Sam Darnold always had the talent to be good, there’s a reason why they did well in HS and college and we’re high draft picks, but talent only gets you so far cause in the NFL, cause everyone is good, it’s the best players from all over the country and world. This is why you hear guys that come to the NFL, they will talk about learning how to be a pro, which includes your demeanor, how you took care of yourself, how you watched film, how you were with your team, how you process information, and so on. You start to learn how to read defenses and think quickly and deal with pressure. Thats why I think it’s so valuable for guys like Geno or Sam, who are both on their 4th team, to sit and learn from guys like vets who know what it takes to be successful in this league . While it’s possible for rookies to come in and have instant success, it’s still hard and rare, some guys have the talent to be good but they just need the time to figure out the game at the pro level.
Most QBs just need several years to develop. 4 years of college and a couple years as a backup is really important. I wonder how many potentially solid QBs developed reputations as busts and never got a real chance just based on not immediately succeeding at 21 years old or whatever
Geno Smith and Sam Darnold's resurrections will haunt the Jets franchise forever. As a Giants fan I swear to god if Danny Crimes balls out on the Titans or the Dolphins...

Well, with a second rounder you still have expectations. Yet, to be "one one the biggest draft busts" as some put it, you need to be a top-ten first-round pick. GS's story is far from that of a Josh Rosen, the biggest draft bust in recent years.
@einundsiebenziger5488 he's played pretty well on terrible teams. Then been supplanted by high draft picks for name recognition. Except the times he couldn't play for injury he's been a good player. His early career starts were better than anything the highest paid in the game Trevor. He was far better than Daniel Jones who got a second contract. Zach Wilson got years of run to prove he's terrible. Sam darnold has been the starter for years and years and never been as good as rookie Geno Smith. That includes the Vikings win streak where he was dragged like a pugeot through the Pyrenees. Geno Smith was just around bad situations. He's playing good. He's always been pretty good unless he's pressing in a game where his team is overmatched across the board. Unfortunately he's frequently in situations where the rest of the team was overmatched across the board. Individually he's been good. If you've got a good quarterback you can't get much more production at the position buy a top running back. Look at the league yards leaders. Got running backs ahead of receivers making double the money. Imagine Geno Smith salary add Barkley and Henry and you don't get to Trevor Lawrence. Meanwhile Geno Smith plays individually better than Trevor Lawrence and you can make his job easier. Incidentally why the browns would be foolish to get rid of Winston. That kid has always made plays that'd make Pat mahomes jealous. He's matured into not forcing plays
The thing about Geno is that I genuinely don’t think this is a case of “the Jets just fucked up”, I think he honestly got a lot better and seemed to be more dedicated to his craft during his Seahawks tenure.
The 1 and only time I went to see my team play was in 2015, against the Chip Kelly led Eagles. We got crushed in the first half, then the Eagles kept trying to let us back in the game but Fitz was horrible. He threw like 50 some times. Geno was dressed as the backup on the sideline looking antsy to come in. I was always disappointed that he didnt and then we wasted time on Fitz that could have been spent with Geno. But maybe it was better long term since those offenses didnt have the talent he eventually got in Seattle. He was sort of a question mark in that period between Rex Ryan and Pete Carroll.
@michael7054 yeah then they signed him to an extension and he sucked after that. I'm a little biased because 2015 was a rough year for me 😂 but we didn't even make the playoffs. As a Seahawks fan, we need to hold Geno to a higher standard. How many SB's have we won or even been to under Geno? Zero. How many playoff wins do we have under Geno? I think maybe one? At some point, the bar needs to be raised.
If you were a real fan, you'd know that that's because of how bad the oline and defense were. Geno has literally been top 10 in QB stats over the last 3 seasons despite having the worst oline and a bottom 5 defense. You should research and watch film sometimes
Yep, he's overrated for sure No career playoff wins I hope Seattle doesn't invest too much in Geno, he is a rental at best, and not the future of the franchise Yes, the comeback story is heartwarming, but he just isn't a complete player
I really think you should rethink this. Geno is not the only “draft bust” the Jets have had. The franchise has been 💩 since Ken O’Brien, Al Toon, and Freeman McNeil played. Cracks me up. Guess Darnold was a bust too-nothing to do with franchise ineptitude
That’s how you know it’s an AI generated script and she’s just reading off. 3:38 . Jaguars? You cant even pronounce the name of the team. (Or the animal neither)
Geno wasn't a bust. He was injured, and his team decided to move forward with a backup. He's a pretty average starter when compared to the rest of the league.
This is the Jets. I remember when they decided not to resign John Riggins for no reason other than a shot Namath didn’t want him around. Loser organization for 50 years.
Geno has been a star since High School. He couldn't help it if he got drafted by the New York (destroyers of quarterbacks) Jets ! He's on a "real" football team now. And being the Geno Smith he's always been ! GENO ROCKS !
Meanwhile an non insignificant portion of the seahawks fan base believe geno to be trash and are convinced that it will be easy to replace him in the draft.
Look lady, respect that you know your stuff, but if you just want to regurgitate what the NFL tells us, we can watch other people for that. Gino dropped down in the draft because they knew he was problems. And if you think that locker room fight was about a $600 plane ticket...that's cute. They get paid millions. Dig deeper.
As a hawks fan, he is still him. Extremely inconsistent. He will make you believe what you want to believe hence our fanbase is so split on him. Will have patches of elite and I mean mahomesque games and then perform like Zach Wilson the next. He is what he is. I don't think he has a high ceiling. Seahawks need a true elite QB. without which we will never be in SB contention.
Ready for Thanksgiving Lauren 😋 oh going to be rooting for the New York Giants on Thanksgiving day even though l'm a cowboys fan the more loses we get the better number we get in the draft next year
Team culture is obviously more important than talent for a player to make it. I am truly happy for GS to enetually having become a starter. But he is no star yet. As a Seahawks fan I finally want to see him throw three or more TDs and no INT in the same game, which has not happened since he took over in Seattle.
He’s doing better than we all thought, but he still makes bafflingly bad throws sometimes, and that’s been his Achilles heel .. He just needs to eliminate those boneheaded moments and he’d be a legit top QB but until that happens, he’s just ok…
@ … Yes, but Geno does some head scratching whoppers … He’s leading the league in INT’s , and yes I agree with you all QB’s throw INT’s sometimes, you can’t play scared, you gotta go for it, it’s how Geno throws the INT’s that bothers me, it’s RIGHT to the defense , like he see’s the wrong Jersey sometimes… If he could eliminate that he’d be a legit, but until then, I don’t trust he’ll lead Seattle to the promise land, all it takes is that one boneheaded throw in the playoffs and it’s over ..
first off, Geno was drafted to the Jets and then played for the Giants and Chargers. easily 3 of the worst franchises in the NFL at the time. he's been stuck with some terrible coaches so naturally he would be regarded as a bust but even as a Seahawk he's still mid. he's like Dak, gets all the hype but can't deliver when it matters most. Seahawks should just tank for a QB, i'm sick of this nonsense they're doing patching up the QB position with some old vet, it doesn't work in the longrun
Smith has had 10 game winning drives with the Seahawks. Sure, he's not "elite" but Seattle could absolutely be doing a lot worse at the position. But don't claim he can't deliver because he has more than just about any other QB of late.
Tanking is for losers, and you're not going to get a good pick at this point anyway. Geno's solid considering the Seahawks are having him throw 40-50+ times a game and putting everything on his shoulders... Seattle has talent at WR, RB, QB, cheaping out for an abysmal O-line for the past decade is the root of a lot of our woes. Don't have an OL and you hardly have an offense. Fans were crying out for Drew Lock and Malik Willis and look how that would've panned out. If there's a clear upgrade let's go get one, but elite QBs don't grow on trees, and even if we had some exciting rookie behind him, I'd be fine developing him behind a vet like Geno. Throwing all your hopes on striking lucky with a star QB who will fix everything is what shit organizations like the Colts and Browns and Jets do.
and not saying that Seahawks are going to go on a crazy run or anything, but the NFC West sucks right now. It's winnable. Maybe this is a hot take but pro sports teams should aim to WIN, every week. I don't care if we're a 2 win team, I still want to see them go out and win on Sunday. Tanking mentality is poison.
Why we love..?.mythology. I am a Cardinals fan. So then have I never, ever made a care for Mr. Smith. Knew about his debacle (s). And yet to a shitty year and be it his year, aye...come back player of the year...I called it. Go Cadinals, kill. Jeno much respect. Of a Cardinals fan.
Wow Geno is such a good QB, that is why we are in the worst division and at this point 6 wins will not make it to the SUPER BOWL. We will be knocked out in the first round of the play offs. The defense is doing great lately but they can't be making touch downs that is the offenses job. Geno is not a winning QB.
yes, sometimes he needs to much time, but if u dont apprecaiate him he shouldnt be happy about his last drives against the 49ers, eagles etc. hes still in the top 3 of the most passing yards, can throw long and short but also tight passes and thanks to grubb also starting to run more

If you were a real fan, you'd know that that's because of how bad the oline and defense were. Geno has literally been top 10 in QB stats over the last 3 seasons despite having the worst oline and a bottom 5 defense. You should research and watch film sometimes
One of the biggest draft busts is an exaggeration. He was a 2nd round pick.
Great Video
I’ve never seen a 2nd rd player be considered a bust
Star 😂
Don't tell a very vocal part of the Seahawks fanbase that this guy is a star 🙄. He's very good, but he's also very underappreciated in a lot of ways
Who would have thought the Broncos made a trade for the wrong Seahawks quarterback
He ain’t write back tho
Good video but he's not a star 11 td's and 11 int buy him coming back to have a good couple seasons was a good story
I'd put him a notch below Kirk Cousins at this point
Yep, he's overrated for sure
No career playoff wins
I hope Seattle doesn't invest too much in Geno, he is a rental at best, and not the future of the franchise
Yes, the comeback story is heartwarming, but he just isn't a complete player
@@RealGC.How cone he isn't? He can make every throw
Stats don't tell the story
Make that 14 TD now.
Some say Seattle saved Geno. I say Geno saved Seattle.
That’s my doggy dawg. 🥹
Drew Lock is the next Geno. He just needs a chance
I am now subscribed, my lil football princess
Im a hawks fan and i still feel sorry for bro. He be playing behind a sorry o line
Why did you yassify him in the thumbnail haha
Geno has been a star since High School. He couldn't help it if he got drafted by the New York (destroyers of quarterbacks) Jets ! He's on a "real" football team now. And being the Geno Smith he's always been ! GENO ROCKS !
No mention of Tavon Austin???
GEEEEEEEENOOOOOOOO
reminder that I'd never watch your videos just cause you're a lady in sports. I watch your videos because you make good videos.
W 💯 That’s always what I want to hear!
Meanwhile an non insignificant portion of the seahawks fan base believe geno to be trash and are convinced that it will be easy to replace him in the draft.
Throws a looottt of picks
This season maybe. In general, he doesn't
On top of the NFC West, just a week later!
Ehhh I'm not so sure about it especially this season lol
Jones to Seattle!!!
Look lady, respect that you know your stuff, but if you just want to regurgitate what the NFL tells us, we can watch other people for that. Gino dropped down in the draft because they knew he was problems. And if you think that locker room fight was about a $600 plane ticket...that's cute. They get paid millions. Dig deeper.
Geno* (short for Eugene)
this gonna be trey lance one day
😂 his best record is 9 and 8 with the Seahawks, I'm trying to figure out where all the Starstruck crap is
Sure he wasn't perfect but are you familiar with the Hawk's offensive line and defense ( or lack thereof) the last couple of years ?
Im convinced that the Jets organization just ruins any good college prospects
You’re just preparing to make a video about DJ in a year or two.
Ready for Thanksgiving Lauren 😋 oh going to be rooting for the New York Giants on Thanksgiving day even though l'm a cowboys fan the more loses we get the better number we get in the draft next year
San Diego Chargers at that time.
Wouldn't exactly say Geno is an NFL star, more like bridge bottom third in the league starter, despite having alot if tslent at WR on that team.
Hes borderline top 10. Also they have a bad o line
Team culture is obviously more important than talent for a player to make it. I am truly happy for GS to enetually having become a starter. But he is no star yet. As a Seahawks fan I finally want to see him throw three or more TDs and no INT in the same game, which has not happened since he took over in Seattle.
He is a star. He's been to the Pro bowl twice
He’s doing better than we all thought, but he still makes bafflingly bad throws sometimes, and that’s been his Achilles heel .. He just needs to eliminate those boneheaded moments and he’d be a legit top QB but until that happens, he’s just ok…
Every QB makes bad throws sometimes
@ … Yes, but Geno does some head scratching whoppers … He’s leading the league in INT’s , and yes I agree with you all QB’s throw INT’s sometimes, you can’t play scared, you gotta go for it, it’s how Geno throws the INT’s that bothers me, it’s RIGHT to the defense , like he see’s the wrong Jersey sometimes… If he could eliminate that he’d be a legit, but until then, I don’t trust he’ll lead Seattle to the promise land, all it takes is that one boneheaded throw in the playoffs and it’s over ..
A girl talking football?! *hits subscribe*
12 TD and 12 INT in 12 games. Is this a good QB?
3000+ passing yards,
O line issues. You watch seahawks, you look at stats
Voice crack in the beginning
Nice!
good video
first off, Geno was drafted to the Jets and then played for the Giants and Chargers. easily 3 of the worst franchises in the NFL at the time. he's been stuck with some terrible coaches so naturally he would be regarded as a bust but even as a Seahawk he's still mid. he's like Dak, gets all the hype but can't deliver when it matters most.
You guys are in first in the NFC West lol
yes, sometimes he needs to much time, but if u dont apprecaiate him he shouldnt be happy about his last drives against the 49ers, eagles etc. hes still in the top 3 of the most passing yards, can throw long and short but also tight passes and thanks to grubb also starting to run more
