I installed a 4D TECH Start/Stop Eliminator on my 2020 F-150 5.0L today. Turn key to "ACC", plug the unit into the OBD-II port, start the truck, and the "A" button reads, "OFF" every time. No more engine shutdowns at stop lights. I love it!
I just bought my first truck, a 2017 ford f 150 xl, this video helped allot with some ideas. For me so fat I've put in led interior lights, then a gas cap sticker, and a talgaite sticker. Thanks for the awesome ideas! hopefully my truck will look as nice as this one someday!!! Thanks!!!!
I installed the SeaLight led high, low, and fogs. I also installed switchback led turn signals. They are a amber turn signal but the switch to a day time running light when the turn signal cancels. They really add to the amount of light at the front of the truck.

Plasti-dip is great stuff. I did my badges and rims on my '09 and it turned out nice. Just bought a '14 FX4 5.0 that'll be getting that treatment, this week.
Catch can is a great mod but it has more to do with direct injection than the turbos. The valves get gummed up otherwise and keeping the turbos cleaner is just a bonus.
Great looking truck, love the storm trooper look. I suggest you give Forscan a try. You could of disabled auto start/stop from the truck’s ECM. Also disable hyper flash on your tail lights and a bunch of other mods. TH-cam it bru, you will love it.

Good video. I have been told by some mechanics that if you have 2020 or newer you don't need a catch-can because they fixed the issue. The start/stop, you just need to unplug it under the steering wheel and that will prevent the truck from auto-turning off.
Great upgrades and they seem somewhat simple to do. I don’t have an F150 yet but already have my eye on a 2017. More videos like this one would be great.

With the tail lights/blinkers, you need to splice in a resistor to the new LED lights. LED's consume a lot less power so they flicker twice as fast when you don't have a resistor wired in. I've done it several times. RIP Ken Block

You should add these: - rwd rear shocks (Rancho or Eibach) - proper rwd coilover leveling kit (Eibach or Elka) - sway bar (less body roll) - upgraded brake rotors - painted brake calipers - cold air intake - exhaust - body color mirror caps - bed cover - center armrest cover - painted air vent trim and paint correction detail (remove those swirl marks, maybe add a ceramic coating too)

Sorry, too lazy to read through the comments to see if this has already been said, but: Doesn't that LED light bar on the front bumper interfere/restrict the airflow to the intercooler? (I have an EcoBoost and was under the impression that should be an open airway for the most part)
Dude great job of showing your mods. Always hate that someone gotta leave a negative on a great video. I also hate the auto-stop feature as i have an 2018 F150 but i always run mine in Sport mode which turns the auto stop off.
Great video! I like the lights under the hood. I would use a pin switch to operate the lights instead of the rocker so I wouldn’t forget to turn them off.
You’ve got a nice looking truck. It seems like you spent a lot of time on it. Do you have a video on how you plastidipped your emblems. I’ve attempted it before but did not come out as clean as yours.
Thanks for the love! No I have not made a video yet but would like to make one soon! The key is apply the next layer before the previous one has completely dried. That way they bond together. And when you peel it off, make sure the plasti dip is 100% dry and tear away from the emblem (down, up, or to the side). If you pull straight towards you, you’re more likely to pull the PD off the emblem

Nice ride man. If my f150 (23) was 2 wheel drive. I would have lowered it. Lifting is going to reduce gas mileage and handling at higher speed. You’ll get pushed around by wind gusts. I have a 23 f150 with the 5.0 coyote 4x4. I think I’m going to just level it and upgrade wheels and tires. Be careful about how much strain you put on your engine. I don’t hear about many ecoboost engines going past 100k miles without mechanical failure. Watch some Scotty Kilmer videos here on TH-cam. He is a good mechanic and explains things well.
Thanks for your comments. Sounds like you have a great ride too. The ecoboost is a solid engine if you check out the forums and groups of actual owners. I go off-road Occassionally so a little lift was a good option for me. I prefer that look better anyways. Enjoy your truck! 🙌🏽
If you undo the clips for the inner fender and pull it back using a tie down strap, you can sit on the ground with your back against the tire and 'easily' replace the bulbs and dust covers. I found this far easier than laying on the ground and going straight up behind the bumper.

I did not install a resistor and that’s why the blinker flashed double time with the LED. So I left the turn/brake light with the stock halogen bulb and only put the LED for the reverse. I don’t yet. I basically spliced in the positive to the running lights and then grounded the negative. Secured the Amber lights to the grill with zip ties.
I also have a storm trooper with most of these same upgrades. Have you thought about tinting your tail lights and 3rd brake light? Pretty cheap and easy DIY that really brings the whole storm trooper look together. Nice truck!

There is a connection under the steering column that would eliminate the start/stop feature. Just unplug it.

I found that if I lightly hold brake when at a stop the engine does not cut off. When I push down firmly it cuts off.

Nice truck. FYI all you need for the led blinker is an led flasher. You can pretty much buy them anywhere now.
nice truck I have a 17 f160 eco i took the lic place out and put a grill becuase of airflow to the intercooler lower my temp by about 5 degree

It doesn’t not cause airflow problems.
Ford sells these truck from the dealership with a license plate covering that hole anyways.

I originally had a "donut" installed as my "leveling kit", but upgraded to new coil-over/struts by Rancho. 2.5" Much better.
Tinted windshield was the best thing I did to my f150 35 % looks dark outside but clear on the inside

Dude great job of showing your mods. Always hate that someone gotta leave a negative on a great video. I also hate the auto-stop feature as i have an 2018 F150 but i always run mine in Sport mode which turns the auto stop off.

@@RathalosEmperor it’s just annoying. And wears down the battery and starter faster. I just had my starter replaced and it’s only 4 years old.

I like the lights under the hood. I would use a pin switch to operate the lights instead of the rocker so I wouldn’t forget to turn them off.

You’ve got a nice looking truck. It seems like you spent a lot of time on it. Do you have a video on how you plastidipped your emblems. I’ve attempted it before but did not come out as clean as yours.
Thanks for the love! No I have not made a video yet but would like to make one soon! The key is apply the next layer before the previous one has completely dried. That way they bond together. And when you peel it off, make sure the plasti dip is 100% dry and tear away from the emblem (down, up, or to the side). If you pull straight towards you, you’re more likely to pull the PD off the emblem

Is the light bar infront of the intercooler blocking air for the turbos?
The light bar is in front of the intercooler but there’s plenty of room for air so get in still. Never had an overheating issue (knock on wood)

Nice ride man. If my f150 (23) was 2 wheel drive. I would have lowered it. Lifting is going to reduce gas mileage and handling at higher speed. You’ll get pushed around by wind gusts. I have a 23 f150 with the 5.0 coyote 4x4. I think I’m going to just level it and upgrade wheels and tires. Be careful about how much strain you put on your engine. I don’t hear about many ecoboost engines going past 100k miles without mechanical failure. Watch some Scotty Kilmer videos here on TH-cam. He is a good mechanic and explains things well.
Thanks for your comments. Sounds like you have a great ride too. The ecoboost is a solid engine if you check out the forums and groups of actual owners. I go off-road Occassionally so a little lift was a good option for me. I prefer that look better anyways.

Did you have trouble getting the dust covers back on after installing the headlight bulbs ?
Yeah that can be a pain but I was able to get them on.
If you undo the clips for the inner fender and pull it back using a tie down strap, you can sit on the ground with your back against the tire and 'easily' replace the bulbs and dust covers. I found this far easier than laying on the ground and going straight up behind the bumper.

Do you have a link for the tail light reverse bulbs? Did you have to install resistors when you replace the original bulbs with these LEDs?
I did not install a resistor and that’s why the blinker flashed double time with the LED. So I left the turn/brake light with the stock halogen bulb and only put the LED for the reverse. If you want to use the LED bulb for brake and turn, you’d probably need the resistor

I don’t yet. I basically spliced in the positive to the running lights and then grounded the negative. Secured the Amber lights to the grill with zip ties.
How you secured them? Cause I used zip ties and they get way out of place. Yours look centered

I also have a storm trooper with most of these same upgrades. Have you thought about tinting your tail lights and 3rd brake light? Pretty cheap and easy DIY that really brings the whole storm trooper look together. Nice truck!
