This channel is about painting converting and kitbashing miniatures for your warhammer & d&d games, Age of sigmar, warhammer 40k games and Necromunda. I will maybe paint Space Marines, Space Wolves, Stormcast Eternals, cities of sigmar, chaos space marines, painting scale models or miniature busts in the future. I've done how to paint guides you could use them for how to paint d&D I may do a conversion guide for Darktide or Dark tide however it is spelled. And in the future I will build and paint some terrain for my miniature war gaming wargaming hobby. I will be painting up the Dominion Box too!

Good techniques, I like the end result a lot. As a BA “main” I do feel I should point out that the BA don’t use the standard role markings. They place a blood drop in their company color on the right pad and use different colored helmets to denote battlefield role: red for battleline, blue for heavy support, yellow for close support, and gold for veterans.
Noted! For next time :)
lol! ... a BA "main"? gotta love the hobby dictators that try and impose their views to validate their own bland emotional investment. lack of imagination... biggest F%King crime in the universe.
Does it really matter? Let people paint things the way they want to
Nice, I was hoping you'd do something like this, interesting to see something that's normally associated with brighter colours painted in a darker style. Look forward to the rest of the series!
Thanks James!
Great vid... Love the various stages of filth!!!
Thanks Lee!
So satisfying to watch the brushstrokes when you’re painting the gold detail on 😌
As good as kinetic sand though?
@@SlayerMiniatures if you could make a compilation of both that would be great thanks 😂
Lovely vid, i enjoyed 😊 looking forward to the raven guard vid!
Thanks 😊
Great video thanks !
Thank you 😊
So grim... So dark... I do enjoy seeing the clean and vibrant colors of the various chapters. Though the grime, and realism in this style looks much better in my opinion.
Yeah I don't know why it's not more popular! They are fighting in battlefields full of dirt, dust and mud.
"Make it look grim......AND dark
Yep!
great video my dude!
Thank you 😊
Sparaying your matte varnish you got some frosting. Make sure you do this on a non humid day. Shake your can, Warm your can, and spray from a distance. For what you are doing.. I would recommend gloss varnish at that stage, and then matte varnish at the very end.
Yeah i got the frosting as I did two layers but the first wasn't fully dry. Not to worry as the grime and oil hid it ha.
What are you thoughts on the Artis Opus texture pallet? I’ve got the dry brushes, but trying to decide if it’s worth getting the pallet too? Is it easy to clean etc?
I really like it. It's easy to see how much paint is left on the brush and also to see how what the effect will look like on the painted surface. As for cleaning...I haven't tried that yet. Hope that helps :)
Just watched this again mate. Im fascinated and learning the oil wash and the streaking grime process. Curious ... as the oil is darker, what would be the 'look' if it went on before the streaking grime? 🤔
I tried that before and most of the contrast gained from the black 'lining everything' was covered up by the grime.
@@SlayerMiniatures yeah i can envisage that now ... thank you for these videos they're marvellous
Can you use a make up brush instead of the Artist opus? is there a large difference?
You could use a makeup brush yeah, although after testing these I can assure you they are excellent quality and will last ages. Definitely worth the investment if you are going to be doing alot of dry brushing
how do you feel about spraying the white only from above. It looks like the lower portion of the model is mostly white, but if you sprayed the white only directly above, the bottom half would stay pretty black.
Do you think that you want 50/50 white/black -- majority white?
It wasn't clear in the video but there was still alot of the black prime layer showing. And a lot of white was needed as I'm using Contrasts and inks that don't show over the the black. Using normal paints...the white wouldn't have needed to be as prominent or even used at all. Ha
Ty man for this tutorial dpi compressor for spary a streaking grime?
I just sprayed it at like 20psi
Did you thin the Vallejo red ink at all when airbrushing?
Nope. Straight out the pot. Anything that is as runny as whole milk/single cream is think enough to airbrush.
Awesome vid will be using this to help with my new blood angels scheme! What black primer did you use? It looks awesome!
Great! Glad you liked it! I just use a Molotow Black paint. It's not really a primer but it's a good base colour. I like the colour forge sprays too
@SlayerMiniatures Thank you so much, it leaves such a good finish!
@@Awikan yeah I like it! The finish is like if you used a sharpie and covered the whole model. It's not as tough as primer. But I use varnish so it doesn't matter really
@SlayerMiniatures Thank you for the heads up, yeah it does give that kind of vibe! If I do end up printing like that I'll be sure to use some varnish too
When using white spirit to take off the black oil wash, how does it not also remove the Streaking Grime that was placed earlier?
I let the grime dry and I'm not as rough when removing the oil. It probably removes a small amount but not lots. You don't even need to do the black oil really. I do it for extra definition in the recesses.
@@SlayerMiniatures Oh wow, didn't expect a reply on an older vid tbh. Thanks a lot. I'm looking to start a marine army next and want to start experimenting with oils for a darker vibe, so this helps me out.
Why do zenithal if you are gonna use the contrast through an airbrush? I find when you use contrast through airbrushe it removes the transparent property
Not sure how you are doing that. Maybe you are applying too much?
Could you use nuln oil in final step instead?
You could, but the problem with washes is they leave tide marks. The cool thing with oils...they are super cheap and you can clean up any mess on the model.
Any chance you could do some Death Guard or World Eaters like this ?
Check out my army in 48hrs video. I literally paint an entire deathguard army :)
When I tried to remove the streaking grime it started to take the original paint layers off to. I used a gloss varnish over the model before applying the streaking grime so should have just took the streaking grime up. I used 99% isopropyl alcohol, would that have anything to do with it?? Sure it's the same thing as white spirit which is what you used?? Any ideas
Oh no! Isopropyl will remove acrylic paint. White spirit should not remove acrylic, unless you are very rough with the removal step. I use the varnish to protect the paint layer. So I'm still unsure why it Isopropyl ate through your varnish?
Also it is a good idea to let the paint layer dry overnight, before varnish. Makes it extra strong too.
Hopefully that should help you?
@@SlayerMiniatures whoops.... Just ordered some white spirit. Think I may have been a bit rough with the cotton bud to, need to dab rather than rubbing to hard. Cheers for the help
@@gdmunn83 no problem. Hope it works well this time 🙂
I quite liked the shiny effect when you first rubbed off the grim, is there any way to keep that ?
Well yeah you could put gloss varnish on it?
New sub for u!!! We will see a space wolf? Ty for your video!!
Yes! I'll be doing all the main chapters :)
Please tell me which varnish you use please
It's in the video. Colour Forge Matt Varnish 👍
@@SlayerMiniatures Ahh thanks, I can't seem to find this in Australia, that sucks, I wanna do my marines just like you
@@Michaelkayslay I use the Army Painter matt varnish too. Is that available over there?
@@SlayerMiniatures It is, I will order some now, Thans big boy
@@SlayerMiniatures I can only find Army Painter CP3003 Anti-Shine Matte Varnish. Is that the one you mean/have?
*Most common* ah, so no Emperor's Children. F. As always amazing work though.
Not yet...as I said, I plan to do all of then while I work on my tyranid swarm :)
That´s not a Blood Angel per se, that´s a Blood Drinker!
Oh right. How so?
Grim Dirt
Ok
Firstt
Haha 😄 congrats
@@SlayerMiniatures thank you I love your videos. Could you Maybe do a legion of the Damned video?
@@rileywood3670 maybe!
I liked it but too many adverts at start. Hate adverts
