Extreme Horror Anthology is a collection of interconnected horror stories, all set within the same timeline. Currently, the first instalment, "The Depravity of Liam" is available along with a playable demo of Arachnophobia.

(I recommend you to replay the chapter, at the end it gives you a gun with infinite ammo, it's satisfying to kill them 🔫)
Cool game, a little constructive criticism on the story though, and this is all just in my opinion.
A big issue is we never get the option to try the door- so there's nothing telling us we can't just leave. This puts an issue on character perspective. Due to her actions of reading the notes and knowing that these are just hurt women, she just kills them with no remorse to find liam? If you're going down the route that she's in on the whole thing then is is fine...
If not then something happening to the door would fix alot of issues, maybe she would then be forced to defend herself as she goes through the puzzles trying to find the exit in the next apartment over, only to find the weird portal thing instead.
Just my 2 cents, great job though.
@@alexalexander7682 You mean the front door where you enter the house? Sofia goes to her brother's house to find answers because she loves him, she wants to find him, and she is willing to do whatever it takes. The women are trying to kill you, which is why you kill them. In the game, there are achievements and files that unlock as you progress; these texts clarify the story and add interesting and relevant information to the game. Thank you for your comment.
@visceralerror ahh, okay. Thanks for the clarification. It's just in my mind I may have killed the first couple in self defense when trying to find answers. After that and finding out that they were just test subjects, no matter how much I loved someone I would leave and let authorities know to try and get the rest of them help.
It's your story and alot better then I could ever do. Keep up the good work, and I look forward to seeing the next chapters.

You were right about Sophia...she's been transported to who-knows-where. The inventory system seemed a bit silly, but those head-banging ghoulies were a lively lot. Hope you return.
The pockets inventory system is like adding extra words to an Essay to reach a word count
I don’t think Sophia is complicit with what Liam has done. It looks like she was becoming influenced by the cubes, as Liam had done.
I am curious as to whether this is going to be a series of stories about the cubes themselves, or a continuation of Sophia’s story.

7:26 considering that the file that you read about Liam in the beginning says that Liam has an obsession with “visual balance,” maybe it’s part of the story. I mean we are playing as his sister.. perhaps we share the same behavior from how we were raised… but we deal with it in different ways.
Different mechanics for games may seem odd to you… but devs have reasons for doing what they do in relation to their stories . It’s nice seeing some new aspect in a genre that’s overflowing with the same old stories, same old mechanics. I respect them doing something different .

This was pretty good! It did remind me of Cry of Fear in some ways. What I wouldn't give for grown-up Chris to replay it now ♥️
Definitely has a Hellraiser feel at the end. I'd honestly would have liked it better if they'd leaned into it and had some sort of Cenobite-derived creature.
That pocket balancing system was one of the most out of place things ive seen in a horror game.

For Devs: It was pretty good .. about a 8/10 I’d say .. maybe just add a few different enemies and attacks

The inventory system makes me feel like Sofia might be in cahoots with her brother somehow...like they're both a little depraved? Protagonists often push forward for the sake of the story, but her hallucinations and willing pursuit into the unknown make me suspicious.
the sfx and bg ambience for when the enemies attack are literally ripped from CoF. specifically from the enemy that's made to look like samara in CoF. just as a fun fact.

That wasn't to bad. The inventory system was crazy. Really didn't like it. A lot of stuff was just done so slow to help drag it out.

imagine if devs were required to have their games make sense. try and dream up a world where those cliches and "puzzles" make sense.
That'll require actual creativity. You can't purchase that from an asset store.

So Sis comes over, sees what looks like a disturbance, instead of calling the police she pulls out a knife and holds it like she is highly trained in knife fighting? LMAO they call Sis Betty the Blade around these parts.... She knows her way around a blade!

I understand why your asking. I love horror as well but since i started my job as a Mortician ive pushed back on watching/reading so much horror content. Things really do take a toll on you mentally especially if its what you see almost 24/7. Some stuff even if you know its fake can really get stuck in your head.
At certain point you get desensitized
I can play certain games, but there are others I cannot play. Not sure if desensitisation is all that happens?
It'll probably affect him if he plays actual scary games. But most of these don't even come close so he'll be fine.
And a lot of gamers play the same amount. they just don't stream it or post it on youtube.

The inventory system gave me the impression that Sophia is not completely sane. Maybe OCD? Also, it's clear she has strong feelings about Liam, but why her brother doesn't have a picture of her in his house? I would like this game better if it gave us some answers.
So the cops know she disappeared after going into the apartment, but there’s no comment on the dead ladies in the apartment. Weird. 🤔
I have a sneaky suspicion that the corpses were gone, access to the apartment next door was gone, all the blood was gone... wait. That's a bit much, so yeah, what exactly did the cops find? Or are they just not saying at this point. Hm.

For the game called EXTREME Horror, the actual horror in this game was very mild. There was no build up in tension, the story is bare bones and don't really tackle any heavy horror subjects, and the only scares in the game are those head banger ladies which honestly are not that scary. And really what was the point of the Balance Inventory, would of made more sense that you something like a Skyrim Inventory where you have an unlimited inventory but you have a weight limit.

The most depraved thing here is that balance system. Apparently, big pallet in a pocket it's not a problem if the ideal balance was still maintain. Or simply her right leg is the stronger one.
