This Pokemon Can Optimally Run No IV's and EV's

Normally, Pokemon want as high stats as possible, however, I have theory crafted a team with 1 Pokemon that optimally (for the team) runs 0 EV's and IV's.
Of course the team isn't good lol

another reason to run less health is to reduce the amount of hp gained by bitter blade or other draining move users
Yah, didn't think of that, but yep, that would work! Does make me wonder what other pokemon want as few stats as possible....
@@blip_exists interesting and real situation, in the pheramosa vs buzzwole where leech life is used on pheramosa, she is never going to live. it makes no difference for pheramosa in OU what her bulk is to how quickly shes going to die
@@blip_exists Pain split Mons also prefer 0hp. A support example could be sturdy mon with pain split. For offensive mons, something like fluttermane to heal off chip damage from stealth rock, allowing it to proc its focus sash, deal a bit of chip damage itself and allow it to kill mons that would normally be out of its kill range. It can also be used if you're predicting your opponent will switch into a sturdy mon that has a pinch item(salac berry?) And also has higher hp so it breaks sturdy but doesn't activate the item.
Oh yeah, forgot about pain split! And yep, that is a good example of wanting a low HP stat!
It's moreso that you want to have less EVs in HP and more into either defenses/attack to maximize "bulk", but you want full HP IVs because there is no cost. The HP number you restore with 0 IVs, while being a higher percentage, will always be the same. The cost of EVs is the limited number of them that could be going somewhere else and just dealing with a smaller total - which means little with hp stealing moves. The EVs that would otherwise increase HP storage could go into attack to restore more HP or into defense to reduce HP lost, both of which are more valuable when using moves that steal hp.
There is no cost to having 31 IVs for usual hp stealing moves. Nothing changes aside from HP storage total if you have 0-31 IVs (aside from hidden power, but thats aside the point). The only exception to this is pain split of course.

he wants minimum bulk so he can use destiny bond, minimum attack so strength sap heals less, 0 special attack so he can do as little damage as possible to his weakness policy teammate and minimum speed since hes on a trick room team
The strength sap one is very interesting, forgot it would do that! And yah, I guess this works as well for having 0ivs and evs, that pretty neat!

I don't think game freak realize in how many ways Shedinja would break the game when they introduced it in Gen 3, it's such a unique Pokemon.

You can truly have a perfectly viable shedinja with no investment only if it has only status moves and is on a trick room team.
Since Thief does damage the attack being optimal depends on who you are, so while it is viable in SOME cases, it isn't viable in ALL cases. A shedinja in trick room with only status moves will perform at its best at 0 speed investment and at the same time having all of its other stats not matter at all. It can perform even better if it's as low a level you can get it as possible since slower is better. Increasing any stat (other than speed) would not make it any worse or any better than it already is, since you aren't using your attacking stats with only status moves. And increasing speed would make you less viable as shedinja performs under trick room. That is true max viability.

Are you telling me you're investing no Attack on a Pokémon to avoid Foul Play Damage despite the fact that you're also running minimum Defense specificly to activate Focus Sash?
Both have a case for wanting to be lowered but pairing them togheter kinda defeats the purpose.
Yep, and I kindaaaa forgot about that in the video, but I now have another excuse for no attack! It reduces the health gained from opponents using strength sap!

Wouldn't the easiest way to do that be level 1 Endeavour Aron?
It wants to get as low HP as possible because of Endeavour/Shell Bell, meaning minimum hp/def/spd
It doesn't care about its offenses, so might as well run minimum in case of a random power split meanining minimum atk/spa
It wants to go last to deny the opponent a chance to use a move that recovers/drains hp before sandstorm procs meaning minimum spe
With the Aron, it has no reason to run no special attack, and loses nothing from running maximum special attack. But yeah, it technically doesn't need special attack, and will likely run as low stats as possible, though with this video I wanted a pokemon that viably wanted as low of stats as possible, instead of not caring one way or another.
The stats of FEARmons are so low that they don't matter when fighting big mons. The only time they are important is in the unlikely yet not impossible scenario of a FEAR vs FEAR ditto, which is too complex of an interaction for me to process on the fly. I feel like min speed is definitely not the way to go, since if both carry a direct attack to finish off sandstorm-resistant mons the one who moves first gets to dictate the pace and capitalize on endeavor. In general, I feel like FEAR vs FEAR would actually be better served by lv2-3 mons.

@@blip_exists You don't always have to edit mistakes out, as long as they aren't too disturbing. You definitely want to maintain a good flow, but minor mistakes are definitely not the worst. If you make a bad enough mistake that you feel you must repeat yourself, I'd definitely recommend editing/re-recording the line though, lol

Wouldnt max special defense ivs be better in order to prevent download porygon2/Z from getting a special attack boost off it?
This would be in some ways better, but it would also not allow you to steal an item with thief.
Wouldn't another potential excuse to run minimum spattack be so that tera last stays physical in a case were you need to be at minimum attack and both attack and spatk are the exact same base stat? That way you maybe will not need to be in doubles to have low spatk? No idea tho
You could probably work it some way, though that would probably work better with other pokemon, as shedinja has a much higher attack than special attack.

Yer, I do have a bit of a stutter, and that really shows up towards the end of this video as I did the audio in a single take, and I got a little nervous towards the end of it, making things even worse.
For some of my other videos. I've done multiple takes, which helps a fair bit.

The shedinja or the ditto? The ditto is the one holding the sash, and yes, it could just run no item, but this is more of a though experiment then a real team, and the sash allows that though experiment to work. If this was a real team you wouldn't run ditto without imposter lol

Uh so how does no Atk and no HP make any sense? If it gets hit in confusion, it dies anyways? Unless i missed something, it wouldn't matter in any scenario
Yep, I kinda forgot that those two contradicted each other. But I have a new excuse for running low attack! You see, the amount strength sap heals has to do with your attack stat, so it could be viable to run it as low as possible, as to reduce the amount the opponent heals! Of course, its still also optimal to run max attack, but either way is optimal, so it still counts.

Idk if you have a condition or something but don't be afraid to do multiple takes of something, it seems like you were stumbling over your words sometimes or changing the direction of your sentence

Yep, I have since improved in my future videos. This was my first attempt at editing a video, so it is very rough around the edges, and I hope my future videos have and will improve these problems.
