As the owner of a nicely modded MK7 GTI SE, I have to congratulate you on a nice build. Except for going with heavier than stock wheels. After I installed a set of 18” flow formed wheels that were appreciably lighter than the stock wheels I could immediately feel the difference in acceleration, turn in and over all handling. Any time you can reduce rotational mass in a car, you should, it will make a big difference. Primer grey color would not be my first or last choice either. But if you like it then that’s all that matters. ☮️
@cyclistman6358 Appreciate the remarks! Truthfully the Prismas always get hate for the weight and I always typically go lighter with wheels on my cars, but I just couldn’t get over the look and fitment on these. The price was right and these things are indestructible on terrible roads. I do agree on the handling and acceleration aspects, that’s no secret as I definitely felt it right away, but wasn’t as drastic a difference as I was originally thinking. Overall, for a daily driver with some spirited driving mixed in, I’m not bothered by the added weight at all. It’s only noticeable when braking to be honest.
Clean OEM+ look...I had OEM S3 18" wheels as winters on my R and it gives me this vibe...very clean, understated...
That’s what I was going for! 🩶
Nice built, simple and not overdoing it
@@carlosmera6097 Going for that OE+ look and feel 👍🏼
Hello from a fellow Dallasite. Nice Mk 8. I just picked up one in atlantic blue. Slowly working my way through break in, but already going down the rabbit hole of mods.
Howdy! The mods mountain is a slippery slope and it happens fast! Maybe I’ll see ya around 🤠
This is awesome!
I appreciate that!
How did you get the larger gear display in the center?
@@KMFDM781 If you toggle the up/down arrows on the right side of the steering wheel it should give you options for center gauge readouts.
What’s your 0 to 60 time?
TBH, I’ve never actually timed myself with a true 0-60. However, even on 93, I’d imagine I’m not too far off from 034 Stage 1 E85 cars that have recorded low 5’s. Regardless, I spin the tires a lot from a launch or rolling start so not a great stat. Thing scoots once it hooks though!
Does the remap void your warranty?
@@parallejp3104 Technically yes (powertrain), but it really depends on the service advisors/dealership you work with in regards to denying any warranty claims or work. Some are more lenient when it comes to modifications.
Hows the ride? Is it really bouncy and there’s no vibration in higher miles like 7mph ?
@@GTIclubdport9462 It’s a little bit firmer, but not by too much. You’ll notice it more on pavement that isn’t great, but just cruising around it’s a lot like stock.
@@rjbaldwin_ thank you 😊 im running stage 1 apr low torque
if you drive it in manual mode only then why not get a manual?
I mostly drive it manual mode, but not all the time. I had a manual prior to this car and daily drove that for 7 years in big city rush hour traffic. It gets old shifting 1-2 clutching in and out for an hour at a time. I go over this in another video.
