Just wanted to tell thanks for these videos I recently bought 2 80 model 110’s for the kids and every question I have you have a video to explain. Thanks for the time and effort it’s much appreciated.
Great video, actually the best ATC 110 clutch video I've seen. The way you explain everything and move slowly really helps. Thanks, although I had to do this without the video about 1 year ago, but I got through it. Im looking at doing a ATC 185s next it seems to be a bit different, I thought it may be similar. Thanks again!
When you do the 185s clutch, why don't you make a video? I haven't seen any really detailed 185 or 200 clutch videos. Then I can watch yours and fix my 185s.
Nice clean work area. Nice job man. I've seen kids work on atv's on the dirty garage floor then they tell everyone it is fully rebuilt. Geez. Go to a good tech school first peeps.
SoCal Bruce You cannot possibly rebuild a motor without a clean work area. Nice job man. I have seen people disassemble a motor on garage floors and say it was a professional rebuild, lol.
Hard to say. Could the diagram be wrong? It doesn't make sense because of the two short springs and the 4 longer springs. It would be nice to take apart a new clutch to see the order of the plates. But I never come across any clutches that I am sure haven't been previously disassembled.
I am not able to put my right cover on the case... any help anyone? The space is the height that the top dowel sticks out of the cases. But they are aligned properly so that is not the issue. I think it is something with the auto magic clutch...
You need to remove the clutch to get the large clutch driven gear off. Then you can remove the shift shaft. You will need a special tool to remove the clutch without damaging the spanner nut. You can get one at eBay for around $12.00. You will also need a snap ring pliers to remove the clutch driven gear. Sorry, I don't think that there are any short cuts.
I bought a 84 70cc for 125 and it won't shift out of first. I've done a little Internet searching and seems like there are a few people that had the same issue. They say something with a drum shift. Do you have any idea about it? This will be very helpful as it seems like they are very similar
I am not familiar with the ATC 70. Perhaps someone else can post an answer here. If it is like the 110, the foot shift turns the shift shaft which has a finger on it that turns the drum a little. The drum has groves in it which will make the shift forks slide a little and move the gears. If one of these pieces fails, it won't shift. On the 110 you can take the right side case off without removing the engine from the frame. You just need to drain the oil and you should have a fresh gasket handy. then you can see if the drum is turning. If you need to get to the transmission, then you need to pull then engine, head, cylinder, and split the main cases. Let's hope it's not that serious. $125 sounds like a good buy even if you need to repair it. Good Luck!
I see that I didn't show how to open the spring. You probably figured it out by now, but there is only one way that you can make it fit. You open it up and one end goes on each side of the flat part of the shift shaft. Then when you insert the shift shaft into the case, the spring will fit onto the bolt or pin that is screwed into the case near the hole for the shift shaft. This spring will return the shift shaft either way if the shift lever is pushed up or down. I hope this helps. I know that a picture would have been better.
i have one more question... I installed the clutch cover case, and all the shift lever parts, after i put on the case i noticed it wont shift out on neutral i haven't gone any farther, did i do something wrong? when i click up on the shift leaver the shaft that goes into the sub transmission still spins freely. do i need to take the cover back off or is it a clutch adjustment thing? help!!!!
***** I am wondering why you tore your engine down in the first place. What was the problem that you were fixing? How far did you tear it down? Did you have a shifting problem before you tore it down? The shift shaft has a finger on it that turns the shift drum. And the shift drum moves the forks which in turn shift the transmission through the gears. Did you determine that when you turn the shift shaft, if the drum turns and the transmission shifts? If you have to get to the transmission, then you have to split the main cases and that means you have to pull the head and cylinder. It’s a bigger job, but not impossible. Good luck!
I have an 85' atc 125m and I need two screws but I don't know what size they are so could anybody help me? One is the adjuster screw between the cam plate and the cover and one is supposed to hold the clutch cover. There is supposed to be 2 screws holding it on but the head is stripped out so I can't figure out what size screws they are so If you could help me that would be great
Hello, I watched your video ....Honda ATC 110 Reassembly, 3 of 12, Bottom End, Right Side I put clutch pack together like you showed. When started 1985 Honda ATC 110 it jerked forward and die when put into gear. I took back apart to see if I did it like you did. Then I checked web site ....www.partzilla.com/catalog/honda/atv/1985/atc110-a/clutch Diagram of clutch parts and other parts. What I see is the metal plate with 3 holes and 3 notches goes on 2 second and the plate with all notches goes on just before top plate with all 6 holes. What is going on? When I stacked like diagram shows it is real hard to compress. I thought I would contact you. I am wondering what's up. Thank You for all the videos you have done. I have gave you thumbs up and subscribed.

i have watched all these vids like 10 times already awesome!!!!

I see you noticed. Someone threw concrete all over my dirt garage floor. Then to make things worse, they smoothed it out.

Bruce great videos they helped me out so much!!!
I double checked the diagram because I had my plates in order. You mixed up the 2nd and 3rd steel plates. Good video though.

Ahh sorry I double checked and you are right. I must have been rushing in the cold garage 😅
Is there a washer u put on before the hub that holds the clutches?at 12min 8sec
No. The hub parts are held together by a snap ring. I didn't disassemble that part.

If i may ask when you open the shift spring how does it sit?

***** Unless you have a 1985 all the way up is neutral on the Honda 110. Did you try shifting down?
Hey man doing my 125 and I got some side to side play in the crankshaft is that normal?
hell no
you should have zero side to side play in the crank shaft
will score up the bore in the block

I think your local Honda dealer will have these screws.
Didn't need to cut video in the good parts.
