Little suggestions if you don’t mind: boxes are good for beginners but at the same time slows down the learning process due to you not being able or hardly be able to drop the tail on your front ski, making it feel like you have no control over your turn on the box. Another alternative is stepping onto a narrower box, speed 0 and get the feeling of putting weight on the front leg, then going on a barrel directly. Pretz can be hard to manage when everything happnes so quick, so it’s also recommended to land switch first, just easier to control even if it’s scary
Man you guys bring me back to my skateboarding childhood. Love to see it. I'm 23 now wanting to get into skiing hahah. Grew up in south Florida then joined the marines so I never really had the opportunity. Moving to Arizona in a few weeks. Can't wait to hit the snow bowl next winter and make trips to Utah with some of my boys who snowboard 🙌🏻
He did a great job! Especially after crashing hard a few times. The biggest difference between his crashes and success was the initial pop. He wasn’t popping at all, even for the box. Once he popped up, things went awesome!! That was incredible. Great job as teacher and student.
You should do a vid on first tricks to learn on skis. Also how do you go about hitting a rail from the side?

your brother have same level as my son on box. snowpack opened in February so only a month into snowpack. we will watch this again as a motivation for the rails

I don’t have any boxes at my local mountain rn so i tried to learn how on a tube that was like a foot off the ground with a kind of steep landing. On my 5th attempt I fell face first off the end and when my skis hit the ground my knee twisted a weird way. I think I sprained a ligament but I gotta go to the doctor to see for sure.
that sounds super painful, hope your knee is ok now :(

Yo I’m thinking of picking up a pair of honey badgers for next season but don’t know good they are at all mountain. How well do you think these hold up all over the mountain? Do you think I can ski these on blacks? How well do they hold edges?

it all depends on if you ride with em or without them before. I made a vid on this a few months back

Do you want your skis flat on tge rail or tilted
I’d say the front ski tilted towards you, but you can try learning both flat
Hes gotta learn to pop first and be able to pop into a full 90 rotation. Then keeping weight on the front, and keeping body forward and looking at the end of the rail

I can hit a rail 90 all day but whenever I hit a box 90 I slide out. Idk what my problem is.
