I use to do this kind of stuff when I was younger growing up in a ski town in Canada. As a father I now watch this thinking his dad's probably the one who is going to have to clean the ice off those steps. I'm officially a grown-up.
@@mileskemph8391 i know, especially in finland it’s so expensive and you can’t even find any good ones. The only way to get good cheap is heading to the construction sites at night...
Yooo I'm planning out my own backyard park and was just wondering how to build my own 'box'. Love what you did with the 6 mini-pipes, I'm gonna do something similar
It’s pretty common for rail skiers to detune just the area under the binding. Slides a bit better and can extend the life of a ski. You definitely lose carving performance tho
I don’t. Wax can make rougher metal rails slide better but for my PVC I’ve tested wax makes it slide a bit worse. Not saying that applies to all PVC and wax tho
@@mileskemph8391 orange and I’m pretty sure every other colour conduit for shotgun rails work well dry and can be extremely slick when wax is added. your general grey pipe (thinner ones) needs heaps of wax however they will prob break so I don’t recommend. Other then that pretty much all other pvc pipes need no wax. bare in mind tho I’m from New Zealand so colour coding may differ. Really like ur setup btw

the filming and the skiing is dope
man if i would have snow and a big backyard like this then i would never leave my house again
Very nice setup! This vid inspired me to build a rail or few when it starts to snow again. The camera quality is very good! So underrated!
Yeah do it, PVC rails are such a fun way to learn some new stuff
@@mileskemph8391 i will but i haven’t found any good ones yet i live in finland so the only good way is construction heist😂
@@Bung5773 Yeah buying new PVC is so expensive especially in bigger diameters. Kinda the only way to do it is to “find” a piece

@@mileskemph8391 i found some big fat pvc !!
Sick as hell! But no poles = no steez!
Its no difference but the real thing is no helmet no steez
This seems so cool. The thought you could ski in your back yard is crazy to me.
Sick backyard bro!
A solid setup. In crestline, ca mountains we lost out snow over a month ago.
Thanks! Same here with the snow, this video was filmed mid-February
how exactly did you attach the pipe to the wood?
This is great. wish I had snow for mine
First thing I notice is the trowel and bullfloat🤣
Lol I do this too my dog does the same thing!

Nice settup bout if I were you i would remove the lille rail or just make it to a Poul jam
banger bro, ur so lucky to have that in your yard
hahaha youve got the matt jones timelapse song
Yo that’s so cool
Built a bunch of PVC rails as a kid, they're the best for backyard hits. Slide well, easy, cheap and don't hurt to fall on. Cool vid.
Your Dad knows how to film
This is crazy 🔥
nice vid!!
Are the rails tippy or do you stake them in.
POV you watch matt jones
Do you detune your skis?
Bro im tryna build this whats the orange stuff at the top called?
I tried to build a jump down my stair set and my dog kept running on it
do skiers detune their edges ?

Do you wax the pvc pipe?
I don’t. Wax can make rougher metal rails slide better but for my PVC I’ve tested wax makes it slide a bit worse. Not saying that applies to all PVC and wax tho
i’ve found that half of pvc pipes i use need wax the other half dont
@@flynnrhodesmacrae3265 Oh interesting, what colors of PVC are better waxed and which are better dry?

So for a black pvc (1 1/2) I don’t need to wax it?
Dude my dogs do the same thing it’s so annoying
Schnell einfach eine Schneekanonen bauen
Why did he get so salty when the dog went up the stairs?
Bc he's pretentious and has a ski park in his backyard lol
