Honestly, considering all the other stuff the SCP contains, a local flood infection like the one we're considering here would be just another day at the office for them.
Let's not imagine what those mother fuckers would do to an elephant. Shit they can infect vehicles too! Now we've got elephants and tanks wiping us out.
I think a lot of the naivety that would promote the Flood would only work out as easy *if* there was no zombie lore on earth. We could also just make of case of it being Russia they do what they want. I wouldnt doubt (hopefully they'd be this smart) that as soon as they heard of some kind of biological anomaly that isnt a known disease just destroyed an entire town of 18k people they'd nuke it asap after contacting world powers to get the okay to detonate a nuclear device.

There is a small, but non zero chance that the Russian military would exterminate the Flood in the first 36 hours. Once it gets airborne, and spreads beyond more than a few dozen square km, it's hopeless without a level of nuclear bombardment nobody would authorize until its too late.
But with that in mind you are forgetting that it takes a helluva lot of rounds to take down a combat form let alone be able to track an infection form. Halo marines are trained to fight elites who speeds are on par with spartans and yet neither them nor the elites were capable of handling infection forms and combat forms were capable of mutating human combat forms in a way where they could tear apart entire squads of covenant forces and marines. There is a reason the UNSC was worried That they might have been able to take a spartan and we are counting in that nobody would realize what was going on unlike most zombies the flood are very sneaky keep in mind they ambushed everyone. And another point to make would be that this isn't zombies so must people wouldn't know what in the world was going on its not zombies something are familar with its the flood from halo. Meaning they are airborne, waterborne, they can just cut or scratch to cause infection and the fact that most military forces armor would be terrible against flood considering they can tear through spartan body armor.

@kleky12 kleky12 its plausible for the combat form to take a large number of rounds, but the one thing i will point out, is most marines and elites don't use what the game code classifies as "precision weapons", meaning they are incapable of dealing bonus damage to a critical area(head, or the chest in a combat form). even on LASO, the flood can be brought down with a carbine shot to the chest, provided they aren't those tank forms, or the turrets. given the combat training forces have, it is likely no more than 3 or 4 rounds would be needed to bring down a combat form, though their speed is a problem, to say nothing of their numbers. few if any soldiers would be ready for. and if an ally gets turned, putting them down would be a whole other level of trauma, which is part of what makes zombies in general so rough. i would probably put flood combat form speed to be similar to that of a zergling - they can move crazy fast. especially for as misshapen as the flood combat forms are, you would not expect them to move half as fast as they have been seen to move.
The amount of firearms in that town is probably close to one to one based on its location, so more than likely the carriers would after a few be killed quick and even if they didn't Russia wouldn't after loss sing a military strike team to an alien force not napalm but nuke the area which I'm pretty sure would kill even the spores in the air
I think the most terrifying aspect of the flood is that they consume all the knowledge that their host had. Like he said, they can go from being mainly melee to having special forces level training in a few seconds (or however long it takes to infect someone)
Thing is when the Forerunners found the flood they were already powerful enough to overwhelm them. Here however this is an outbreak starting on earth, depending on how fast we react it could either be our win in hours or we lose the entire planet.
Makaveli Shakur Ironically the Forerunners did most of the infecting themselves feeding their dogs the strange ground up powder of the Graveminds. Kind of ironic how we human scientists would do the same mistake but with trying to get samples of the Flood here
Well, yes and no. Modern Humanity in the Halo games didn't really have high-tech laser weapons. From what i've seen, they still had guns that fired bullets. So it is a VERY SLIM chance that we could beat a Flood outbreak IF we didn't fuck around, and the entire world came together to combat the parasite...but I honestly doubt that would happen. With Trump as president, he would probably claim that we could beat the Flood by ourselves. He is such an overconfident/naive pathological liar that his bullshit would doom us all.
What would happen if the Flood invaded Earth today? Well if I know HiddenXperia enough, he'll run into the Flood on the streets and say "infect me daddy!"
Thoroughly enjoyed this analysis! I came to the same conclusion when I looked at the FLood infection in one my vids! Glad to see I was somewhere close to your knowledge!
+Wow Such Gaming Your videos are very interesting, especially the "Why You Would (Wouldn't) Survive" series. In any case, I appreciate TH-camrs who are willing to put in the effort to create hypothetical situations and theories based on enjoyable fiction
HOLD ON. If HiddenXperia got infected then the flood would know everything about the spartan program and all of halo lore. So if there is any type of human-like aliens that could make this technology then the flood would have a even better chance to over run them.
Would it be cool, if the wildlife was also infected and or converted to our little flurrd burrdies like how in halo wars one even in the shield world we had the snow owl things and the thrasher forms... Man, I want me some more halo wars (and I have yet to play the 2nd one) :/
"These Sentinels will supplement your combat system. But I suggest you upgrade to at least a Class Twelve combat skin. Your current model only scans as a Class Two, which is ill suited for this kind of work."
Great video! Another thing that's different about the Flood from regular old zombies, is just how infectious they are! Even in the Halo universe, where technology is much further along than our own, a single Flood spore can be the death of an entire planet!
Y'all don't realize even if the flood isn't real, we're gonna get to a point where we can write genes and create basically any creature we want, and 100% someone will try to make literal flood.
You assume humanity is going to last that long. That would be way down in the future. Like flying spaceships and what not. I don't have faith that humanity will make it that far.
Considering that Saitama isn't fully human, but possibly part demi-god, whether he can or not be infected, is unknown. However.. he just needs 1 punch to stop the flood
Bruh just convince a child to think that one person is the most dangerous against the flood, and if you go on a planet with them on it, all of them will die in a year, all of them gonna head out. Get big brained
Spetsnaz aren't SWAT teams, they'd remain concealed to analyze how dangerous the infected are. When they see the numbers and ferocity, they'll exfiltrate and probably use chemical weapons, napalm, or even tactical nukes to cleanse the area by fire before moving in again. No 'Lone Survivor' moments here. Also, the idea of it spreading within a matter of days is a bit fast. At the end of the forerunner-flood war, the flood had the numbers to blanket a planet in one swoop, while 50 infection forms would require several weeks to reproduce. Even cancer cells (which reproduce endlessly at top speed) can't reproduce fast enough to produce tumors within a day.
Spetnaz aren't a specific group. They are simply a name for special forces. They range from frontline shock troops in the Airborne, to GRU Spetnaz who specialize in military intelligence. You're thinking of the GRU Spetnaz. The guy in the video is correct in saying *some* Spetnaz may fight the flood directly, as I'm sure specific Spetnaz groups would, like Maroon Baret, Black Baret, and Blue Baret wearing Spetnaz would. The fact is, many Spetnaz battalions *do* work in a capacity similar to American SWAT teams.
Michael McCabe Eh, I don’t think so personally. Look at how fast they spread on Alpha Halo, it barely took them any time to go from the beginning of their outbreak to the construction of a Proto-Gravemind, albeit not a fully grown one, but still
I think you're forgetting watching hosts literally becoming mutated once an infection form latched on within seconds, the first example I can think of being that Marine that had like five of them jump at him when Floodgate begins. Given how delicate infection forms are, it is likely that much of the 50 will be popped. But as we know, the Flood don't just spread by infection form. At this point in the outbreak, it could also be spreading by contact with Flood juices or by being wounded by Flood. The Flood super cell is also monumentally more efficient than even the most malignant cancer cell. I'd say the initial infection rates HiddenXperia quoted could still apply, given that humanity seems to fatally seek understanding of something like this before blowing it to kingdom come. In my opinion, we should instead focus all resources on first containing a Flood outbreak and then destroying it. The knowledge of how the Flood works would be knowledge no country should possess
earth crashes into the gravemind and congratulation we all died ( flood included) and yes i know the flood can just survive even when the gravemind is down :p
Probably lose a land battle with their 57mm tank cannons and tanks with open hatch crew compartments and retarded fucking open turret warthogs. Essentially would be the same matchup of covenant versus unsc in tech difference. So space ships would be their only hope other than spartans, but I dont think their frigates could make much of a difference in land combat other than perhaps missiles and odsts. I dont remember reading or seeing much about space craft in halo providing close air support.
@@Nighthawk1170 They can and do use MACs for orbit to surface bombardments (I believe the only instances of this happening in game or novel are the Spirit of Fire and the Infinity, but every ship has the capability). Agreed, that modern armies would win a ground battle. But they could sit in orbit and hit major infrastructure, government and military headquarters, etc and there is nothing we could do about it.
@@patton3rd1 I suppose we could try to launch ICBMs into orbit, but those would probably get knocked out. Then again the unsc can't even do a good job keeping boarding craft away from their ships xD
@@Nighthawk1170 I don't intend to be too critical about your opinion but, 1. Scorpions have 90mm guns with more than likely better ballistics than modern tank guns. 2. We have seen frigates provide close air support. The best examples being the Grafton in Halo: Reach, and the Forward Unto Dawn in Halo 3. 3. Spartans. 4. Scorpion cockpits haven't been open cockpit since Halo 2, some Scorpions don't even have the hull mounted MG turrets. 5. Plenty of modern combat vehicles have open turrets,: M1161 Growler, several variations of Humvees, etc. 6. M510 Mammoth from Halo 4. 7. Modern firearms are anemic compared to those in Halo. 8. Spartan Laser 9. The UNSC has hyper-intelligent A.I. that can compromise even the most advanced modern encryption software like they were simply taking a walk in the park. 10. In lore they held their own on the ground against fanatic aliens with technology light years beyond their own. 11. They have far more advanced gear than we do now.
Alright! Here is the plan for the spartan program, we kidnap Children, drug them (Also give them steroids) Stuff them into Combat power Armor and last, Profit.
Flood: invades earth People with knowledge of halo flood lore: Guess I'll die Or Flood: invades earth People with halo flood lore: Hold my infection form. I got this
All I gotta say is, with how much trouble the Flood gives future humans in Halo, I doubt current humanity could keep them at bay, especially since we A. don't have anywhere beyond Earth to run to, and B. can't follow global protocols for avoiding an infectious entity...

Loved your analysis but one minor issue: we have the halo games to help us. This wouldn’t be an entirely unknown threat; lore masters like yourself could be humanities greatest tacticians. If the threat was identified quick enough we could even have the chance to nuke the quarantine zone before the spore mountains were constructed! Overall I still think there would be a very low chance of humanity surviving, but it’s a chance.
@@DavisProductins actually they initially ignored the flood thats why they lost the war even mass effect could stop the flood if attacked on the first stage

@@memonson5586 except the are since the heat alone burns biomass away its why in lore Fleetcom suggested nuking delta halo and high charity after it fell to flood infection
In Installation 04, the Systems Monitor (and as a result, as Forerunner Containment Protocols would demand) deliberately dropped the temperature around the Control Room (and the Citadel) into below sub-zero levels in an attempt to stem flood infection; as we see in Halo C.E. Two Betrayals. However, as we see in the same chapter, _this does not stop the flood._ It _slows_ the flood, but it does not _stop_ it. A tundra such as Siberia would have no effect on the flood when the Forerunners make _entire planets_ into Omegasiberia with the end result of slowing down the flood advance by mere milliseconds. EDIT: Xperia makes this point at around 11:20. Just as I was making this post, lol
Only one problem with this. The flood don't get ALL off their knowledge and proficiencies. If they did they wouldn't hold weapons at odd angles, shoot erratically or pilot ships with the grace of a completely wasted drunk. They don't infect a black belt and suddenly every combat form knows Karate. They always only ever take SOME knowledge of their hosts, and only after the creation of a gravemind. If they did take 100% of their host's knowledge and skills then they wouldn't act or behave like zombies, and each of them would have a personality.

meh friend we got memes they dont
Thing is when the Forerunners found the flood they were already powerful enough to overwhelm them. Here however this is an outbreak starting on earth, depending on how fast we react it could either be our win in hours or we lose the entire planet.
Not to mention Mendicant Bias allowed a fuck ton of Forerunner cruisers to be commandeered by the flood.

I love the 28 weeks later theme playing in the background
Spetsnaz AND Swat teams then.
And they would probably send police with cameras connected to hq to analyze the situation
The short answer : we'd all be screwed beyond compression.
I love the R6S footage in the background cause operation outbreak waa the closet thing. Also i take it that he plays R6.

@@Nighthawk1170 I don't intend to be too critical about your opinion but,
8. Spartan Laser
9. The UNSC has hyper-intelligent A.I. that can compromise even the most advanced modern encryption software like they were simply taking a walk in the park.
10. In lore they held their own on the ground against fanatic aliens with technology light years beyond their own.
11. They have far more advanced gear than we do now.

Assuming they haven't consumed some gopniks, that infected them with being gopniks.
