If you have a manual gearbox (I know, not common there, but it is here in Europe), don't forget to also bleed the clutch - same bleeder nipple on/near the gearbox and it pulls fluid from the brake reservoir. It is often overlooked. Not as critical due to less hydraulic pressure&temperatures, so less risk of fading, but it will help to keep your slave cylinder operating smoothly for longer.
The only thing is that these cars are garbage and the nipple is plastic. I lucked out and I was able to bleed mine, but beware; if it breaks you might have to change the whole slave cylinder tube by dropping the transmission.
The main reason to change brake fluid regularly is because it absorbs moisture over time. This lowers the boiling point ,(bad). The moisture also corrodes the brake system components.
I replace my brake fluid once a year. Try using rubber grease around the bleeder so don't get bubbles coming in from the bleeder that way you know when you have bled your system correctly.
I've been warned against using a power bleeder like that to do this job. Either you risk getting air into the system or you have to compensate by using extra fluid. I still use the bleeder, but fill the reservoir between bleeds.
The only problem with fluid that old is the new fluid can possibly dislodge rust and corrosion from lack of prior fluid changes and can release the rust and debris over time in the new fluid which could damage the caliper seals . It would wise to flush a second time one mouth later to get the crap loosened by new fluid 👊🏻👍🏻 great video
Hi, thanks for another nice and informative video. As I read it is better to start bleeding the fluid from the farthest one (right left) to the nearest one (left front). can you explain why didn't you do the same?
I have air in the system. Bled the rear right brake and the spongy feeling is gone. Do I need to finish with the rest or can I call it a day? Heard the P1 had a brake distributor. That should take care of it?
Awesome! I did it on my 2015 Skoda Yeti right after the dealer had changed the brake fluid and the fluid was black! So they just changed it in the reservour! Bad!!
Ok we understand how we flashing brake fluid there are lot videos show that. but no one show us how we clean the motive power bottle and store it for the next time because brake fluid absorbing moisture are you gonna use it with ald brake fluid left over next time? That gonna be disaster
Hi, thank for so many good videos. Where can I purchase the LED adapter housings, sockets for the overhead courtesy & map lights? I need 4. My LED bulbs are a PC board construction (no wire leads). Can I somehow reuse the old sockets? Thanks
Note: Good job but you have not replaced all the fluid, the hydraulic clutch shares the same reservoir as the braking system, so the braking system can get contaminated with old fluid still in the the clutch line, clutch line fluid can be changed from bleed nipple above bell housing but fluid in the clutch slave cylinder can not be replaced :(
tips : for the Pressure its 2bar maximum for the system. Anf the order to change the liquid is the farest to the closest mate... so back right wheel, left back wheel, front right wheel and the left one.. you did it in wrong order. anyway thank for you vidéos! its good.

Super clear and straightforward. Thanks much.

מצויין, טוב לדעת כל שנתיים להחליף נוזל בלמים. תודה.

Another great episode, thanks for sharing
Nice video, thanks for the help!

Great job as always. Now show us how to change the gasket on the transmission valve body pan. 👍
No plans. But will be doing the oil.
Love this opportunity!

Vida describe to start with front left.
Dig those trousers man!
Another great video.

How to navigate to the instructions in VIDA?
Thanks, this is really helpful

Can you do a vid on the older v50 diesal please it's impossible to find any vids on them 2007 model e.g.
Did the master cylinder cap come with the tool?
Здравствуйте. Скажите, для XC90 порядок действий тот же?? Благодарю.
Nice work!

I'm surprised to see that your V50 T5 AWD has the 300mm front brakes rather than the 320mm many of them have. Have you considered upgrading those?
Maybe its 2.4 170km

Do you have any modules and such available for 2010 xc70 3.2.
Thanks for the video and explanation.
Is the Volvo specific cap included in the power bleeder kit?
Yes.
@@volvosweden What size is the volvo specific cap ( 42mm or 43mm internal diameter)?

anyway thank for you vidéos! its good.
The order IS correct as per Volvo manual!!!
I like your videos. Are you going to replace timing belt on your V50 soon?
Nope. It was done before I bought it.
Another great video! 💯 What are the dimensions of the clear hose you used to bleed the old fluid from the nipple? Internal diameter in mm?
Think 1/4 inch. But not sure
100% super
100ml of each caliper must be drained, in some cars more than that.
Helpful thk 😉
Wish I had a garage
What is the tool you use, called ?
Motive brake bleeder
@@volvosweden no the handtool, what its called ? I cant find that in sweden :) seems handy
Always do the farthest one from the brake cylinder first
Volvo instructions says otherwise
@Lee Sedona You can google for download Vida 2014d. In this version you can see all part numbers and instructions for all Volvos until 2014
That is the lowest mileage V50 ive ever seen!!!!
Probably is.
