      ¿Why would you assume that every user even HAS a "file" tab in the Word® ribbon? That is the only tab that I do NOT currently have in my Word® ribbon.

    Thank you!! This pops up randomly at work sometimes and I needed to solve it for when we have multiple reviewers and rounds of commenting and editing.

    Thank you. But I'm not sure if this is what I need. We have finalized a document (3 users and have changed them to be named Author). Want to send to a client but have the client's name only to be displayed when they make their changes. This seems to show me how to put my name back in as the author. Are we going to have to wipe out all users anytime we get the document back if we want to make changes again and then keep doing this step if we need to send back to the client again? Seems too involved and tedious. But I understand that what I need may just not be an option :)

    Any advice for the same issue on a Word for Mac?

    • @erinwrightwriting
      @erinwrightwriting  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you so much for watching! I have a separate tutorial called "How to Remove Names from Existing Track Changes in Word for Mac" th-cam.com/video/9e4ZMjjHGhM/w-d-xo.html that shows how to stop Word from calling you "Author" at the 2:41 mark.

    Hello, Erin!
    I would like to know how to "delete date and time" from the review comments, so that the person that contracts my services may never be aware of my working hours,
    Thank you so much!
    Manuela

    • @erinwrightwriting
      @erinwrightwriting  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for watching! I have an older tutorial that shows how to remove the user name plus the date and time from comments: th-cam.com/video/9UqdhsTE8qE/w-d-xo.html. However, there is currently no way to remove the date and time without also removing the user name. I hope Microsoft adds this feature in the future!

    Thanks, but why would this have happened in the first place, i.e., why would someone have used the document inspector to permanently remove hidden properties?

    • @erinwrightwriting
      @erinwrightwriting  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great question! People run the document inspector for many different reasons, but one of the most common is because they are participating in a "blind" peer review and need to be able to make comments anonymously. Thank you for watching!

    • @davidgleaves5175
      @davidgleaves5175 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@erinwrightwriting Thanks. I thought about that after I posted my comment, plus the possibility that people submitting a manuscript for blind review might need to remove any evidence of who the author is, but if I'm finding this on student papers submitted to be graded, might it be evidence that that the student didn't actually write the paper?

    • @erinwrightwriting
      @erinwrightwriting  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@davidgleaves5175 Interesting point! I'm not a teacher or professor, so I hadn't thought about that; but yes, it could be seen as evidence that the student didn't write the paper. Although, it would also be difficult to prove that they didn't run the document inspector on accident.

    What if we want to change the existing names of the comment authors to a unique name ? Is there a way to do so ?

    • @erinwrightwriting
      @erinwrightwriting  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Unfortunately, Word doesn't offer a way to change an existing user name connected to a comment to anything other than "Author." I do hope Microsoft adds that feature in the future. Thank you for watching!

    There is a name written at the top of ms world page on top right side how can we change it

    • @erinwrightwriting
      @erinwrightwriting  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for watching my video! Do you mean the name with the circle at the top of the interface? If so, you have to change your Office account name. Here are the directions from the Microsoft website: support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/change-your-user-name-and-initials-cdd4b8ac-fbca-438d-a5b5-a99fb1c750e3. Best of luck!
