What a clear video explaining track changes. When everyone (in a team for example) has finished tracking changes do you just accept or reject them, as appropriate, and then just turn it off by clicking on the "Track Changes" icon? I always seem to get documents with the changes down the side and can't "switch" them off! Thanks in advance, this video has gone a long way to me understanding the subject.
Hello, Colin. Thank you for watching my video. Yes, after all the tracking has been accepted or rejected, you should select the Track Changes button to turn it off. You can also change the Display for Review menu (right next to the Track Changes button, above the Show Markup menu) to "No Markup" to hide any remaining comments in the sidebar. Best of luck!

I'm sorry to hear you are having trouble. I've never experienced that issue after emailing a Word document, so I'm afraid I can't offer a solution. If the problem didn't appear while you were using Track Changes, it might be an issue on the email recipient's end (such as an older version of Word). Best of luck!
@@erinwrightwriting Let me explain the problem in detail. I have used track change mode for preparing a research paper. Then after final correction I have sent that research paper to editor of an journal through email. The editor told me to prepare a new file because due to track change mode there are various cross marks, red lines and underlines. Therefore I need a solution for that problem. Please let me know is there any out to remove all the cross marks and underlines without preparing a new file.

That's a great question. If you just want to hide the markups, go to the Review tab > Display for Review menu > No Markup. However, if you want to remove the markups while keeping all your changes, go to Review tab > Accept > Accept All Changes and Stop Tracking. (Once you save your file, the tracking will be gone, so be sure to do this on a secondary copy of your file if you think you will need the tracking later.) Best of luck!

Hello and thank you for this video. My question involves SHOW COMMENTS -- in my menu bar this is not "lit up" so seems disabled. I have co-writers who say they have commented on my comments -- and yet I am not seeing these. SO _- I have no idea how to view their comments -- or what I may be doing that it not enabling their comments to show up. Thanks for any help! We are working in WORD
