      @@erinwrightwriting I have a question! Do you have any videos on how to format margins for a 6x9 for an eBook and paperback book on word for Amazon? I keep finding videos that give different answers. I watched your video on margins, but how would I do that with a title page or eBook? I appreciate all of your videos! :)

      @@tethysmaiden Excellent question! I don't have a tutorial on that topic, but I will definitely start to do some research. eBooks can be very temperamental (format-wise), so I hesitate to offer any advice until I can offer something that I know will work on multiple reading platforms.

    Thank you for your helpful video. I would like to understand how to finalize the document for sharing so that others are not able to see all my changes that were tracked?

    • @erinwrightwriting
      @erinwrightwriting  ปีที่แล้ว

      Great question! If you want to keep a record of your tracking, first save the file under a slightly different file name. Then, in the new file select Accept All Changes and Stop Tracking. Then, switch from All Markup to Original view and save the file. You can then send that new file to others and they shouldn't be able to see your tracking.

    Hello Erin, I wanted to pass on my sincere thanks to you for your webpage 'How to Change the Proofing Language for Comments in Microsoft Word'.
    (I am putting this note here because I can't think of any other way to pass my thanks to you.)
    As I followed your instructions, I was flabbergasted at the steps required. Almost none of the buttons and boxes and options one has to select give any clue that one is on the right path until the last moment. Who would have thought that the proofing language for _comments_ was buried about ten storeys down under Styles? I thought Styles was all about fonts etc. I have often spent ages hunting in vain for this under File > Options which has the tools for proofing the body of the text.

    • @erinwrightwriting
      @erinwrightwriting  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you so much for visiting my website and sharing such a kind comment! Sometimes the options do get quite buried in Word.🤓

    Thanks for the video, I’m wondering if there is a way to have the old type of comments using the word for mac? I don’t want the answer option below and I want a line on my text leading to the comment and can’t find how to change this

    • @erinwrightwriting
      @erinwrightwriting  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for watching! If you are using Word for Microsoft 365 for Mac, there no longer appears to be a way to revert to the old version of comments.

    If you accept a track change of a figure # will it automatically update if you add a figure before it (i.e. will the figure number increase)? Or would you need to update the field? Wondering if there's an impact to accepting a change before you finish editing the entire document.

    • @erinwrightwriting
      @erinwrightwriting  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for watching! In theory, the figure numbers should automatically update. However, when working with Track Changes, issues do arise, so I suggest accepting or rejecting all the changes before adding additional figures and then doublechecking the numbers. I wish you all the best with your Word project!

    Can you show how to remove an indention in Track Changes, please? I tried highlighting the line that needed to be left aligned but nothing happened when I clicked on "align left" in the paragraph box.

    • @erinwrightwriting
      @erinwrightwriting  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for watching! If you want Track Changes to show formatting changes, ensure that All Markup is selected in the Display for Review Menu and Formatting is checked in the Show Markup menu. (Both menus are in the Tracking group in the Review tab). I hope that helps!

    How can I view only unresolved comments ? Say there are around 50 comments in the file and 45 are already resolved. Now I want to see only remaining 5 comments by clicking on next comment button. It would be easy to respond on them for resolving. But currently when I click on next comment, Word is going to 1st comment in the doc even though it is resolved and then if I click next button again, it is going to next comment even though that is also resolved already. How to enable Word to go to next unresolved comment ? I am using Word for Microsoft 365. I don't see the options of activating contextual / List display in Word. Pls help.

    how to add a reviewer name

    • @erinwrightwriting
      @erinwrightwriting  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you so much for watching! Normally, the reviewer names are added automatically as different people review the document. Can you share a bit more about the information you are looking for?
