Amazon trying to kill us in Florida, they're crying about these gas prices and making us turn our vans off at every stop. 300+ PKGS and 170-180 stops. I almost passed out yesterday. Even had customers concerned about me, one brought me an ice cold Gatorade.
I believe you! Last year when I worked for Amazon, I was out in 100 plus degree weather and baked like a cookie in the back of those stepvans! Plus no ac, I was doomed some days out there exhausted from the heat!!
Just also don’t listen leave van on if they are so concerned they will fire you but maybe that isn’t a bad thing you can get way better jobs or they’ll bite they’re tongues n just let you do you because they need you
don’t tell me dsp this but to me this is just a f*ck off job because i kept losing high paying jobs because i have a hard time getting along with others so im just doing this to pay the bills while i go back to the drawing board
Possibly the same drivers that you were rescuing every day, that had been there longer than you, had found the proper balance of safety and efficiency. If a driver is rescued daily and isn't "out boarded", they have probably found the right pace to get the job done without killing themselves.

You get to the point where you know before you leave the station what day it will be. Everything is much different now, hardest routes I’ve ever had. It’s hard to go in every day so I’m looking for another job
I was an Amazon driver for 2 years. Been through every single possible obstacle that could have been thrown at me. I was absolutely miserable working there especially in the last 6 months. Amazon started cracking down heavily on customer delivery feedback, so things completely out of our control were affecting our scorecards and we would lose days because of it. Just because a couple customers wanted to be dicks and put a bad review it would take it all the way down to red, no matter how many positive reviews there were. Also, that Netradyne camera was a huge reason as well. Complete inconvenience every time I had to deal with it. My DSP gave me white rental vans for most of the time, but eventually I was moved into a standard blue van and having that POS staring at you all day and dictating how to drive made me way uncomfortable, it honestly made me hate driving my personal car. Group stops sucked, the large package counts sucked, the routes being laid out in a way that makes absolutely no sense and has you zigzagging through main streets made me feel like an accident was bound to happen eventually, thankfully it never did. Having to deliver 14 different locations and it only counting as 1 stop was completely unfair and it felt like Amazon was just lying so they could make us deliver way more than they said we were. The last straw for me was when Amazon made a new no-reverse rule and implemented it into the cameras. No reversing for over 5 seconds or above 5mph. The day that was introduced was the day I started looking for a new job. 1 week later had it lined up, I called my DSP and said I quit. Got the final checks, hugged my DSP owner, and said goodbye to Amazon forever. The relief I felt driving home was something I never felt in my life, it was amazing. That terrible job finally in my rear view mirror.
Exactly. 3 years I started in the beginning before prime vans happened and experienced the crazy changes. I became a dispatcher and That camera was the end. I couldn’t stand by and watch drivers get treated so badly. Amazon puts so much pressure on Dsp’s that they in turn would just expect the drivers to take it. Something as simple as delivering to doors made so stressful and uncomfortable. No times for bathroom or breaks or your stuck at night worrying for your safety in the middle of nowhere. Different routes everyday and some routes are just not made properly forcing you to fail. Everyday I was forced to try to get people to pick up days when I just wanted them to be able to rest and actually live.

You spoke to the various elements of the job that many of us who deliver / drive on behalf of Amazon can relate to, especially the driving at night in the middle of nowhere. Several times I have felt unsafe. I will say that, at least with the blue vans, people know who is pulling up to the house at a dark hour. Back in the day when there were only white vans, sometimes I would wonder if people felt like there was an intruder, especially when I delivered to those very rural areas or those houses that were tucked away behind a long tree lined driveway. Personally, I think delivery should stop strictly at 7 PM no later. I was once out so late that I returned to the station at 10 PM (well after everyone is supposed to be done) after a day of a terrible route and excessive packages as a relatively NEW person smh Ridiculous As a driver who drove back in those days of white vans only and there was no such thing as a camera in the vehicle 😄… man that was nice. I mean, I understand the safety measures that the camera brings about but I do think some of the regulations are a major deterrent for drivers. For me, having to take off the seatbelt and put it on when my next house is literally two houses down feet away, is actually having me reconsidering staying on. I recent started driving again this month. That seatbelt rule bothers me the most only when I’m in tight route neighborhoods. It’s really the only thing I detest. I’m truly all about safety but in neighborhoods with tight delivery stops that are footsteps away, having to keep putting on and taking off that seatbelt is almost discouraging I’ve heard, though, once you get into a routine, it doesn’t really bother you as much.
I average 275-350 packages a day . 165-190 stops in FL where it’s hot as hell. I don’t turn off my van period , I don’t care what they tell me I leave it on all day. I’d rather risk getting written up or “suspended” then having a heat stroke out there , health first.
Man they’re firing people here for not turning off the vans and also blacklisting us from being able to drive for any other DSP that works for Amazon. It’s incredibly shady. I HOPE that doesn’t spread down there in the southern states cuz NOPE. I still don’t turn my van off though. I told my dispatch, who I’m super chill with, that I’d rather be fired than have suffer a heat stroke. I haven’t been suspended for it yet, but I feel like it’s coming. Once I get suspended for it, I’ll probably look elsewhere before it ends up becoming a termination 🤣
7 years at 4 different DSP's. I've had every kind of route they have. Being that I've been playing basketball for 37 years I could finish any residential route in 5 hours without breaking. When I first started the vans were U-haul minivan rentals with plastic bins. The Vans were so bad that one day I had to hold the driver door shut when turning right or it would fly open. When I called to say "hay my driver door won't stay shut when I turn right" they said " just try and deal with it". I had to litterally shut the door before it slammed into a parked car in the narrow streets of West Seattle. Fastfoward 5 years and I was asked to drive the first Fed Ex UPS size van for the West Coast. I quit last year because the company I was working for indirectly assumed I stole a bunch of packages that were not on my van but on my route at the end after I was finished. I had to mark my last 16 stops that were at a locker in an apartment complex missing. Guess they were too stupid to figure out what happened. I had enough of all the complaints drivers complain about from being bit in the face on the nose by a dog at a house without a beware sign to not being promoted due to dishonest people who lie to claw their way through the ranks. Hard work does not payoff at Amazon. They are designed to force you out after you get a couple years experience so they don't have to pay more. Hard work gets you more hard work. Not bragging but I was a rare case of someone with the type of BEAST stamina that could beat the system. I had my own contract at my last job. I was paid more than anyone I ever heard of and could set my own schedule. Anyway Amazon is run like a communist company and was crazy strict during covid. We got yelled at "6 Feet!, 6 Feet! with megaphones. They had cameras set up on 72 inch TV's that had circles showing a red or green circle around you. If you went into somebody's cirlce yours turned red. F Amazon. PS. Tips to Finish Fast. 1. Walk as little as Possible. Drive from house to house even if its one house over. 2. Park on the wrong side of the street in residencials 3. Sit upright in the seat. 4. ONly backup as much as needed. You only need to reverse a small amount to gain the angle you need to leave. 5. When entering into a stop park in a way you can leave quickly and easily 6. Do everything fast but in control. Everything from sitting, starting engine, to putting on your seatbelt, and messing with the phone 7. Stay organized. 8. Put all oversized in the back according to size and not according to order. *(Trust me its faster to load in the morning so you can get your coffee and snacks) 9. Hussle you piece shit. 5.
When I first started working at Amazon I enjoyed the job. I too got put into the step van in Phoenix with anywhere from 330-430 packages, 185-199 stops and up to 290+ locations. I did this for 2 years and eventually experienced total burnout with the company, it was like hitting a wall and the job became completely un-enjoyable for me. The step vans get crazy hot in Phoenix too, and on top of that, Amazon has installed a bunch of sheet metal underneath the catalytic converters to prevent them from being stolen. By installing sheet metal under the converters, the floor now gets a lot hotter than usual... definitely not a good combination to have in Phoenix for their drivers.
Spot on with everything you are saying & after doing 195 + stops, who wants to rescue? Noone! I have an amazing DSP and I am given the same, or almost the same, route daily, so can't complain too much. It's the exhaustion and physical strain that kills me.... and I am in decent shape with lifting on my off days. I put 10+ miles a day on the watch while delivering. You want to lose weight while eating well...this is the job for you!
I had a garbage route for a decade, which is kinda similar except i take stuff away, rather than delivering. I had a ton of houses, and it was crazy around the holidays. Anyways i used to get stressed about it, but when i began to perceive, and treat my route as workout it became an entire different experience that i grew to love.
Quitting tomorrow, this job is ridiculous. Not to sound like I don’t wanna work or anything, but getting 180 stops average 300+ packages is exhausting in so cal summer heat. And I’m a pretty in shape 26 year old guy. They barely trained me, and half the time I’m in country ass dirt roads in the middle of nowhere literally in mountains with stops 5 min apart or more sometimes. It’s crazy. At My DSP, we don’t get to the first stop until 11:30 because loadout is at 10:30 and it’s 45 min away our area. The only way I can see me getting done is if I don’t take my lunch or breaks. And I’m running pretty much the whole time. And the routing app is not very accurate at all get out while you can
I quit two weeks ago, no two week notice. Amazon driver was a slave job and got a lot of disrespect in the streets. People think cause your Amazon they can shit on you. I would of stayed if I got like $25 an hour, not 16.50.
This sounds a lot like my experience. Not to mention the trash phones they provide, laggy and die fast, barely hold a charge, then you are expected to use your personal phone to finish up. Way more negatives than positives, and there’s too many opportunities in America to slave away there
If they call you for a rescue and you haven't taken your 30 minute lunch yet its like working for free. I tell them to check if I've taken my lunch before asking me to rescue. The labor laws for meal breaks are there for a reason. I've done this long enough to realize that flying thru stops to try and get home a hour or two is not worth putting a target on my back to do another workers route. That's what sweepers should be for. If you don't want to do a lot of recuses it not all just about speed, you need to know when to put the breaks on too and excepting staying out your full shift. Stay out 2 more hours in your shift or pick up someone elses 2 totes. Its a no brainer to me.
My DSP in iowa was giving me the most difficult route known on their list. 179 stops with 268 locations and 367 packages. I was only making $19.00 an hour payed weekly. It's not worth my time for the pay. I quit after doing it for 4 years. I got my experience. I needed to move to fedex as a driver. I have orientation tomorrow yeah. I make $39.00 an hour & get paid weekly (Fridays). I work on (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday). I have Sundays & Wednesdays off.
Yes I work for Amazon and sadly you're correct. It has changed much. A lot of dsp have rental vehicles that are terrible. Yes Saturday I had 200 packages. Mostly mix of apartments and houses. Friday I had a mix of apartments, businesses and houses. But with everything you have to do your job or move on and look elsewhere. Thanks for sharing
FACTS.... I worked Oct 2021 to April 2022....I still get group emails and got one earlier saying the cameras are getting installed in all vans....Mannnnn I was seatbelt behind the back driver cause I had 170 190 stops per shift.... even after peak season...I said nahhhh man... I'm out 🤦🏾😭😫😅😅😅
@vegas7023 I got into an argument with someone on Facebook, my profile was public and so was my work info. Learned my lesson when it comes to not putting down where I work on any social media since then, one of the hardest lessons of my life. Shitty part was my DSP did not want me to be fired, they knew the guy was clearly an openly racist piece of shit, but they didn't like my responses back to that guy. So Amazon basically forced my DSP to fire me after 3 weeks of suspension. I just recently joined FedEx Ground though.
People don’t realize when it’s 90 degrees outside. And you HAVE to shut ur van off at every stop and can’t use your AC it’s like you don’t have it on at all.
Group stops are what made me want to quit. Honestly, rescues are only a problem to me when they send you a really late one. But most of the time, if you get done significantly early, the driver volunteers for the hours, or the dispatchers would want you to help out.
Agreed. Excessive group stops are so stupid. They definitely did not exist when I drove initially in 2017 for the first time. A lot of things did not exist then lol but yes, group stops were nonexistent
I used to work for amazon dsp. 200/330+ everyday. Tearing my knees and ankle up. Until I invested in a prius and started driving for doordash making 1250 a week lol. It's almost laughable how easy my job is compared to slaving at amazon. Only thing that was weird at first is realizing your now your own boss. Work smarter not harder my friends. Ps. Track your miles for major tax deduction.
The new engine off policy and the no backing is killing Amazon drivers in Florida. They said it’s for safety reasons, I called B.S. because exactly when gas prices started rising, they introduced this policy. It used to be turned off engine 60% of your route, but now it’s 100%. Which to me makes no point of having an A/C inside the van.
No backing is absurd! I mean, what is the issue? Are people (terrible drivers) running people over / damaging the vans? Has to be a reason for such a drastic change.
I have been with amazon for just over 2 months now up in western canada. When I first started I was going hard trying to finish my day quick, I then found out that rescues are mandatory after doing 1-2 rescues almost every day. When its snowing outside and the roads are icy the last thing I want to do when I work hard to get my route done fast is go help someone that has been moving slow all day. Once I found out they are mandatory with no extra pay I just been timing my route so I end my day at rts time so I have less of a chance to get sent to someone else
Right now I'm dealing with daily cube outs. Meaning every inch of space of the van is occupied by packages. I don't even have enough space to sort my stuff to work faster. This combined with a heatwave is making me want to just quit.
That's the biggest problem and they put the dumbass shelves in there thinking it helps but all they do is get in the way. I have to mark all 4 sides of my overflow with sharpie now and I'm still behind some days.
Best way to work at Amazon is to be slow on your route and they will never give you a big route you try and get done early they will give you more and more each day
@@montanacollette2878 my steady pace is naturally fast lol like I just can’t go slow so I usually get 190 stops (300 to 400 packages) and can finish 3 hours early than the allotted drive time
I had 126 stops one time with 288 locations 370 packages. One thing i absolutley hate with my dsp is that they keep on giving me different routes. It is more difficult and time consuming to keep delivering new routes especially when it is completely dark by 5:30pm and we dont start until 10:40am.
I left a year ago because of the rescues , the 200+ stops & favoritism. I work at FedEx ground now & I love my route I know it by heart. I average around 80-90 stops with 120-170 packages majority heavy items but I’m done by 2-3pm

Most stops I ever had was 197 , I got to the last 10 and my dispatch told me to come back cause I was going to slow and there’s no one to rescue me. I now work delivery for a Car parts warehouse and it is great! Better pay , union benefits, vacation, paid sick days , and the best part is I get my own truck and my own route. They also pay me for a full day regardless if I finish early or not , no rescuing anyone , no apartments, no stuck up civilians and i my day is usually 10-20 stops , each stop has a bunch of parts and packages but that’s fine cause my truck is loaded for me in the morning. I’m so glad I left amazon
@@FrAnK48995 I work for a company that owns a bunch of dealerships. If you look around in your area the dealerships will have a parts department they generally will need a part delivery driver. If you are lucky they will pay pretty well and the work will be far less than amazon. The pay per hour for me is lower but that’s ok cause the positives of the job outweigh that. I don’t know if you will locally have something like I found but some googling you might find something.
I can relate alot. 190 stops. They say we are allowed lunch and 2 15 min breaks but with the amount of stops they pile on you is impossible to do that. This is especially if you're in an area where the nearest bathroom is not close by. Yep, the stories of piss bottles in the vans is true...especially in Utah. You can be the safest driver ever but the app says otherwise. Then there's the management and DSP owner that constantly bitches at you to improve your score. During covid, they have warehouse workers yelling at you "6 feet!!!" I don't know how many times this added to everybodies stress level. Every damn day. If you are wearing a mask, plus the noise in the warehouse, you can't possible hear anybody unless you stand closer.
Ya are the problem. TAKE YOUR (2) PAID 15 min breaks!! And 30 min lunch break. If you dont finish; return to station. We HAVE TO all show that Amazon is setting too high of standards until they lower their expectations or higher the pay, but why would they when ya are skipping your breaks and doing 100% on a 185 stop 40 group stop route.
I worked a ten hour shift. In 90 degree weather . No brake didn’t want to fall behind but after 7 miles of walking I was done . Send out the rescue and get me on my way. Then you have to fuel the truck do an inspection and turn in your phone and keys . Now it is 9 pm and they want to see you tomorrow. I worked six days in a row then quit!!
I started this job like 2 months ago. My boss is cool and all the dispatch workers too. They know which routes are the worse, so they send help for those routes early. Last week was prime week, my biggest route was 370 packages but it was in a nice area and I done early. It's rare that they send you to rescue someone because they have backups for the worse routes, and when they do it's only like 30 packages.
Nice video. I am at my 2nd DSP. #1 was bad. I ran to and from every house. They would tell me at the end of the day, I am too slow. #2 first day they said, "have fun!". I was like, what? But they never criticize, and are always upbeat and professional. Love my DSP now. I am beginning to interview for UPS. Sounds much harder than Amazon. So, I probably will turn them down.

I had my van at the amazon facility parked and they fired me on the spot for leaving the driver door open with the car on while I went to get my packages from staging area I was in my 2nd week and it was out of nowhere he said it was a first tier infraction and he had me sign a paper
I left recently due to the fact that I got a new job paying 10.00 more and the fact that I started with Amazon last year in October and wasn’t going to endure another peak season! Not full time anyway but the DSP I worked for was decent but you should quickly realize that it’s a job not a career. The only position to move into is dispatch but with the high turnover rate, you will be jumping back into the vans delivering!
I’m making 32.00 an hour plus incentives which I hit each week which puts me at 1,700 after taxes. I work at Cintas picking up soiled uniforms and drop of the cleans. I have 24 stops per 10 hour shift (Monday thru Thursday) and have Friday thru Sunday off. Full health benefits, 6% match for 401k which I’m up 2,509 and I haven’t been there a whole year yet. A great company that takes care of their employees that’s been around since the Great Depression and is world wide.
I hate Amazon so much after becoming a DSP driver. It’s the worst job I’ve ever had and that’s saying a lot. I just got suspended for a week for taking a phone call while driving (my first ever infraction). I’m praying to god I get another job to avoid having to physically assault management. Choose y’all DSP’s wisely!
So I just started amazon dsp and I can clearly see already that one of these dispatchers wants to catch hands. No wonder people quit. I can tell I'll just be passing through on this job. Originally, back in 2015, I was about to work for Amazon because my dad recommended me, but ultimately changed my mind because of how difficult that job really is. So I'm glad I didn't work there.
I finish early all the time because I love running. Ill do rescues and run around too, but on the way back ill take my time to really stretch that O.T. Since I always do rescues, or occasional phone cables or jump starts I get extra power than the other drivers but I damn well earned it.
Kept trying to finish early because of daylight working against delivering but also the thought of going home early...if done early enough one can still go grab food at certain places.
I worked 1 day with a trainer and I could see the writing on the wall... I finished the day and the very next day I called up Walmart auto center and accepted a technician job making 50 cents more an hour.... I live in Florida and first of all the temperature along with the humidity is brutal, they they overload you with a unbearable amout of packages/stops which makes you not want to take a break or even want to go pee or you will be going home late. I will never ever go back to work for them...They can suck it! Worst job I have ever had ans I have had some bad ones. I don't think I would do that job for $2/hour more.
When we do Rescues at the DSP I work for we get paid a dollar per package plus hourly.. I did a rescue, an one of the stops had 25 packages lol, I made like 75 extra bucks in a hour.. Now I will say there is a reason for Rescues.. When you do help someone it will piggy back on time when you deliver, meaning those packages will be delivered early, the DSP gets bonus pay from Amazon for it, DSP side not employee.. Amazon also pays the DSP for the full 10 hours for every route per contract, So if you are working for a DSP scheduled for 10 hours a day and you get done in 8 hours and they don't pay you for the full 10 hours, the DSP is keeping that extra 2 hours pay.. Most people do not know this.. If your DSP pays you for the 10 hours even if you get done early that is a Good honest DSP company to work for, stay away from the others. Some owners like living the High life while there employees struggle to make a living wage, they also do that to get you to work more days then scheduled, you may of gotten 40 hours over a 5 day period, but your DSP owners got the 10 hours you never see.. That adds up when you got 50 plus drivers. Knowing these things is why I'm am currently looking for a better opportunity, where I don't feel like I'm getting sharked out of money for working hard.
So rescues benefit no one but the higher ups? I've started to take my time and get my 10hrs just so i wont be sent on a rescue lol, i don't even get sent rescues so tells me people aren't pulling their weight. Is it true about what you mentioned about how some dsp cover your 10hrs even if you finish early?
@chrismadison305I got interviewed by 5 different dsp 1 out of 5 only offered the guarantee 10hrs the rest said you might finish early and go home only clocking in 5 to 6 hrs a day then when peak season is over I hear drivers was quitting because they would only rack up 26 hrs a week , that’s no money but I hear the dsp that does the guarantee 10hrs are very picky who they recruit funny how I was turn down because they said I was over qualified due to working with FedEx delivery 😂
Currently there. I was stuck at 190 / 360 and doing daily rescue sometimes two. I was mentally zapped. Then two weeks ago it changed. Everyone is at 160 to 180. They started sweeping the the 180 and up at load out. Not sure why but all of a sudden they are worried about people getting burned out. Even the fulfillment crew is moving carts for us. Trying to stick with it and transfer to Colorado Springs next spring. Commercial group stops are a thing where I’m at. Strip Mall stuff with suite #’s.

Its easy to get around the Turn off compliance, Once you are at your stop, turn off the van, take the key out then click on I've parked.. Then restart the van.. Mentor only looks for key removal when you hit I've parked.. I do it all the time.
Turning the van off does suck, I can’t even use the Bluetooth anymore since it disconnects and the Fords we drive it literally takes like 10 seconds for the AC to kick in. But the biggest issue is the group stops. My stops are going down but my packages are going way up. Houses I used to deliver to that were separate stops have turned into group stops. Really the only upside is the other drivers at my dsp are cool so it’s fun to complain to each other about who gots it worst 😂
Still working at Amazon I am a Dispatcher & Driver. I move quick out there which lands me with 180s on the days I do drive. Honestly it’s starting to become too much considering I’ve been here for over a year but I don’t know where else to go job wise so I don’t quit.
Yeah 180 stops was starting to become a thing whenever I stopped going. When it was summer, delivering 280 plus packages would be a challenge. Most days I was pouring water over my head lmao 😂

I’ve been having commercial group stops on a regular basis only being at Amazon for about 3 weeks. I’ve had two different ride along some micromanage me because they’re saying I’m not organized. I’m running at almost every stop and take only one break so I don’t die. But I end up having to get rescued most of the time, and always barely finish before nine. I’m guessing this job just isn’t for me because people that are acting like I’m slow and it pisses me off because I’m trying my fucking hardest to get everything done but it’s not fucking possible.
I quit Amazon 3 days ago and went to Darnel. I'm making Styrofoam restaurant to go plates by passing the styrofoam through a pressing machine. You don't lift heavy stuff like Amazon. The job is much easier and they don't just throw you into another department without training. Even the pay is better than Amazon.
I worked for a DSP for Amazon. They lied to me in the interview. They said if we finish early we get still get paid for the full day. That didn't happen. Also they only gave me 25 hours a week when they guaranteed 40. I left and went to the Post office. Better hours and benefits.
I got rescused alot the first month. I told them take whatever. Some took what they were told and some didnt. After 2 mos, i dont get rescued and happy to help people who are new.

Most i had for amazon was 208 apartment as well so bout 250 stops smh . Left the yard after loading at 12:30pm so always got back after dark smh . Now im with fedex .. what a relief
i try that but sometimes it backfires lmao. I be stalling and then they send my ass to rescue anyway lmao. I get so heated. My dsp has like a monthly rescue limit tho. So i finish fast and get those out of the way quick.
Facts bro. I’m a step van driver for Amazon the stop count is ridiculous. Luckily I’m young and in good shape so it doesn’t really bother me physically. It’s the fact we have to do 190 stops a day.

I work out of Bellingham, Mass, and boy the volume has been crazy lately. I started 2 months ago, my heaviest day has been 190 stops w/ 330 packages. Lately consistently getting minimum 160 stops and 270 packages. I hope this doesn’t keep up because boy it can be rough sometimes. I drive the van, and when I get 18+ totes and a bunch of oversize organization is difficult. Totes falling, having to unload half the van to get to oversize I need, it sucks. Hope things get better.
Yeah I know prime week just passed not to long ago and I remember last year’s being crazy!! And when you have a bunch of overflow searching my whole van for the right package would drive me insane because everything was everywhere!!! Hope it gets better for you!
I deliver for a contractor and I can say that its either frustrating or a good day or a mix of both. Im saying because of the pay and 401k. Ive been putting up with it for 8 months so far with no plans of quitting plus my DSP is awesome.
I worked for Amazon for a year and was sprinting my deliveries with no breaks no heat/ no ac the no ac wasn’t a big deal but driving the cdv with no heat when it is 15 degrees or less was ridiculous I was doing 190 + deliveries in the Lexington ky almost 300 houses a day because of group stops and apartments closing the lockers down to Amazon so I would have to run door to door to the apartments that was not included in my route time and I would still be getting done at 9:30 to 11 with a hour and a half drive back home the vans were nasty they smelled like urine and fecal matter tires was always bald brakes was always bad they didn’t care about yours after other than what the camera shows that’s it I left bc I was underpaid I was clocking in on my legs a day 10 to 15 miles on my legs through my Apple Watch now I’m w fed ex much better job ups is where it’s at but good luck been trying for 3 years now and have been a delivery driver for over 6
Group stops are ridiculous. They say "oh you only I have 150 stops" but one stop you're going to 4 different houses... Some 3 doors down and across the street just to keep the stops down.

Worked at Amazon, I left and went to USPS, then quit USPS and went back to Amazon...and now going back to USPS. There doesn't seem to be much security working for a DSP
I was a top notch delivery driver at Amazon in Cincinnati, I went through two logistics companies, the one I started with was dissolveing, and I didn't know till month two on the job. The dispatchers were horrible, and im glad they dissolved cause me and the Manger hated each other. Then the other logistic company picked me up, after my first logistic company faded away, it started out great, loved the management, the dispatchers even the other drivers. I did do some rescues, I did the most stops, the hardest routes, I did not take breaks cause I was like you, oh I'm doing this route, I'll be done in six in a half hours. Then they gave me a raise, for my performance, after one week, they took it away, I was like wtf, where is my raise?! When someone gets a raise they are supposed to keep it till further notice not take it away after one week. So I was livid upset, they told me, you have to do more multiple rescues to earn it, I said to the managers, that's what I've been doing, now you expect me to do more?! I left without a notice I was so upset, now three an half months later, five different logistics companies wants me to come back and deliver for them. In my tri state area, I came close to working with FedEx, but they are fireing there drivers from left to right, even some of there veterans. But will see what these guys got to say. Keep it up man!
Amazon does’t care about us, in the summer my van said the temp was 130°, i had other guys say 140° plus, i mean i could cook food in there. And they’re still forcing you to do 200+ stops, honestly it’s way more with groupped stops, and obviously having to rescue someone EVERY DAY no matter what. And they still forced you to turn your van on and off etc etc. good thing I’m joining another driving company lol. They said all the amazon people coming to them and they love it
Okay I usually get 360+ packages and 140-180 stops .. I drive a van so you must imagine how full it is every day .. I get rescued around 5 when I only have 20 stops left or so .. its not my fault that they want to send me a rescue because they don’t want to pay me the time the it actually takes to complete that route mind you its 95 percent group stops.. I can finish that route in 8 or 9 hours but not they want me to finish by 6:30 or 7 so that I can go rescue or go home that way they don’t pay me over time
I quit because of the cameras. I loved my job but i left before we got the netradyne vans. I now got a job with usps with greater pay just starting out as a mail carrier.
I’ve been delivering for Amazon for a year in Florida. Agree with everything you say. I enjoy it though. Especially the hours and creating my own 40 hour schedule.
The issue is Majority of the Amazon drive Not All, can’t seem to deliver packages to the right home or address. I have had this problem constantly, and Amazon keeps saying they will take care of the issue but nothing really is being done because it keeps repeating, They all in a hurry to go home, plus, They take pictures of another home and add your address just to cover them up. That don’t fly, I had this problem yesterday. And called Amazon and that package I did NOT receive is under investigation. They have asked me if I wanted replacement I did, BUT I am so upset I canceled the replacement. So today still NO Package.
I’m in Arizona and as a step van driver it sucks, 180-200 with 300-350 stops a day usually they ground step vans in the summer but Amazon said no this year, we also at 9 am are already 100-105 degree temps and Amazon still only gives us 15 minutes to load van in full uniform we are already exhausted before route even begins, the amount of group stops is ridiculous I’m moving over to fedex ground, in 2 weeks not to mention next week is peek not looking forward to, I refuse to rescue ppl that have been there longer than me, I’ll help newbies or if their route was smaller than mine
It’s doesn’t matter with company are you working for (FedEx, USPS,UPS or Amazon worst), any company of those companies can not give to you what you deserve for the work you’re doing and the amount of money they’re making. 🤓
I worked for one and it was so bad people would come in to work and didn’t get a route and had to go back home so you didn’t get any work and you didn’t get paid and you just wasted gas and yes the rescues were very annoying

I work for a DSP. Thinking about leaving. Even thinking about going back to Fedex Ground. I find it difficult for me to deliver to more than 125-130 per shift. My routes are in the hills, and exhausting.
Delivering is easy compared to all the jobs I’ve hard. I’ve worked in hot ass kitchens with pizza ovens behind me. Full heat. Amazon itself likes to micro manage tf out of the drivers. They took an easy simple job and made it crap. I’m thinking about jumping ship to FedEx with all the extra new rules they like to do. One day they’ll tell you to not mark packages missing then the next day they’ll tell you to mark them. Like I said easy delivering just hate the company lol

I did 244 commercial this last prime week. 355 total. (Only got about 20 packages into a locker). Elevators were out of service, it was 104 degrees, and almost every package was on the third floor. I came back and told dispatch if i saw my route with 200+ commercial again. I would not come in. Still leaving in a week tho
The rescues at one point got so bad that I started to take my hour break to avoid them. Because I was one of them that would just take my 30 or sometimes just a quick 15 for a bite, kill 160-180 stops with the step vans, get done early so I can go home just to get a late as rescue at 8:30.
i understand the rescues. i got a route with four totes. then i rescued other drivers, i never say im rescuing you. i say im picking up packages. i need the hours, i want money.
Currently working here.... a ton on bullshit and all we hear about is "money this... money that". He's a great guy but he's only concerned with how much he can make with Amazon's unrealistic expectations.
Yeah I quit 2 days ago lol now USPS was doing 14 hrs a day with my DSP working the same at USPS getting way more money... Amazon doesn't want you to have a break thank God I quit.

Full time schedule part time hours, no route that day. Called my dsp said I’m switching to part time. Got called in 5 mins before our meeting that day for a 200 stop route that I’ve never had before during a thunderstorm/flash flood in a piss stained van, literally piss on all the sliding doors, got a van exchange and same issue, piss stained but less. Did 135 stops, brought back 4 totes and 25 overflow as well as my two weeks.
Im working currently for Fedex Ground for 140 a day almost always working longer than 8 hours a day , they dont pay anything for doing overtime extra work ( how ?). and also in order to finish my route in a 8-9 hour time frame taking a lunch is non existent. Have Amazon drivers getting 18 hourly for 4 / 10 hour shifts a week. Seems like a no brainer to me. Taking my driver test for Amazon Thursday.

The montoring sucks but when getting paid hourly driving a bit slower and more cautious isn't asking much. Fedex is borderline abusive to work for kidding but kinda not really.
No commercial group stops, but reshippers where you deliver 100+ packages to a single residential house while on a 180+ stop route. Not enough time to do that. I did over 200 stops 4 days in a row and it’s just too much bullshit. I got a job offer from FedEx last week and I’m HYPED to get out.
I am about to start training this week. My interviewer said to expect 200+ stops. I didn't really have perspective on how much that is until I watched tons of videos like these and people were complaining about 170+. Luckily I am able to only work 3 days right now but I'm pretty nervous.

just take your time drive carefully and stay hydrated. i recommend getting a hydro flask and filling it up with ice. gas stations will also let you get free ice(sometimes) if you need more. bonus tip: if you want to finish early organize your stuff once you get to the first stop and never enter a yard without checking for dogs first. ive been to houses where it almost seemed like the customer intentionally left their dogs out so i could get bit. what they dont know is bought a go pro just for situation like that and will sue if bit.

My son just started working here in New Jersey Tinton Falls he works a 4-day 10-hour week Monday through Thursday he's off Friday Saturdays and Sundays they're the best days to have all 21.00 an hour to start $50 bonus a week and he gets a 3000 within 6 months bonus and the dispatchers are always here to help he said all the time
start a month ago and ive been having a rush rush rush to get the stops knock out and its causes me to have violation and possible get my terminate ig....i honestly feel like there should be like 130 stops.....ill be nicer maybe 150 depends on the route but man ive have broken rules just to get shit done.
The DSP I work for is complete trash…we don’t even have the big box trucks only the small vans…during prime week I had 17 totes and 44 overflow packages and most of the overflows are huge boxes. Plus they just implemented a new rule saying we can no longer have the phone mounts on the window, it has to be on the dash🤦🏻♂️
Get a 2nd device from your DSP, hide it in a pouch and in the glove department and you should always get a 850 on mentor, I been a driver for over 3 years, currently making over $1850 every two weeks after taxes on 110 hours a pay period and that's during non peak
@@Spikenector here in Texas you start at around 18 and some change and it depends where your located for overtime. There is plenty of work here so there are some people that get as much as they can!
They paying 19.50 up in PA waiting on my background now getting ready for the hype. I was working at the Amazon fresh but they only pay 15.50 and the management crazy.
I left my dsp because they would send me home on days I was scheduled then call me in on my days off even after knowing I drove 45 minutes one way to work. I was able to go along with it most of the time but not after I had a baby. I couldn't go off my schedule like that when I'm paying for daycare based on a schedule that changed every week. I also didn't like being throttled at 70 hours and never getting 80.
If you get 180 stops and you finish early all the time Amazon will give you more work with either doing rescues or adding more to your current work load.
I got rescued pretty often and I didn't give a fuukk..lol. Thing is, I used to finish on time because I wasn't taking my 30min lunch and two 15s. I was ok with that. But amazon felt like they could give me about 40 more stops. Amazon makes these routes without your breaks in mind. So I make sure I take all my owed breaks. At my dsp, the same ones always rescuing are the ones that dont take their breaks. In 1 month, you worked 8 hours for free. I would never..
There's too great a gap between the front line driver and the corporate center where the computers generate the actual addresses and routes. The IT people just see addresses on a map, crunch the numbers and create the routes without understanding the logistics of day to day delivery. Each route has TOO MANY PACKAGES for the average person to delivery safely with adequate breaks. Period. This is an easy fix: low ball the size of the routes at first and then increase them gradually to fit the driver. But the DSP's are incentivized to take on HEAVY PKG counts to increase their profit. So average people wanting a reasonable job are overwhelmed with OVERSIZED ROUTES. Amazon micromanages everything about the routes. They could easily make the route sizes reasonable and consistent from day to day. But they don't care. And there's no way to communicate directly with them.
I left because of the area i was delivering to.. it was like a little LA with one way streets, narrow streets, busy streets and very steep streets.. also the houses were either mansion type houses or apartments.. and the drive back to my dsp was about an hour and a half because of traffic.
Yeah I know those areas can be really tough! I’ve found out that the area that you deliver really matters! I hated getting mansion routes. Even though the houses were nice. The drive ways were long af or gated 😂
Here is a true back story…I worked Amazon DPS because I was a class A CDL holder who wanted to be home daily…My first day I went with a trainer and it was fun…a lil fast paced but I was up for it. Then I was out on my own. Whenever I took a brake I got behind. Some people said don’t take breaks because you will be behind. I don’t know how they calculated the time schedule but it was too close and always the driver had to push for time. You cannot tell someone only take X amount of time for each delivery. Some people have larger drive ways and lots of heavy boxes that you have to get one at a time. I had a DPS van with about 3,000 packages and you start whenever your boss wants you too. I started at 11AM and finished at midnight yes it took me all day. It was horrible and you have to drive back to a city to use the bathroom. I quit that day with lots of packages left over
Dam I'm thinking of doing it but the dsp I went to especially this time of year seem they don't want part time workers they want full time 4 to 5 days 8+ hours and seasonal workers like that days and hours... guess I'll abort heard too many bads 😂 some quit before peek 😂 over worked doing 300+ packages
Amazon trying to kill us in Florida, they're crying about these gas prices and making us turn our vans off at every stop. 300+ PKGS and 170-180 stops. I almost passed out yesterday. Even had customers concerned about me, one brought me an ice cold Gatorade.
I believe you! Last year when I worked for Amazon, I was out in 100 plus degree weather and baked like a cookie in the back of those stepvans! Plus no ac, I was doomed some days out there exhausted from the heat!!

Possibly the same drivers that you were rescuing every day, that had been there longer than you, had found the proper balance of safety and efficiency. If a driver is rescued daily and isn't "out boarded", they have probably found the right pace to get the job done without killing themselves.

I was an Amazon driver for 2 years. Been through every single possible obstacle that could have been thrown at me. I was absolutely miserable working there especially in the last 6 months.
Amazon started cracking down heavily on customer delivery feedback, so things completely out of our control were affecting our scorecards and we would lose days because of it. Just because a couple customers wanted to be dicks and put a bad review it would take it all the way down to red, no matter how many positive reviews there were.
Also, that Netradyne camera was a huge reason as well. Complete inconvenience every time I had to deal with it. My DSP gave me white rental vans for most of the time, but eventually I was moved into a standard blue van and having that POS staring at you all day and dictating how to drive made me way uncomfortable, it honestly made me hate driving my personal car.
Group stops sucked, the large package counts sucked, the routes being laid out in a way that makes absolutely no sense and has you zigzagging through main streets made me feel like an accident was bound to happen eventually, thankfully it never did. Having to deliver 14 different locations and it only counting as 1 stop was completely unfair and it felt like Amazon was just lying so they could make us deliver way more than they said we were.
The last straw for me was when Amazon made a new no-reverse rule and implemented it into the cameras. No reversing for over 5 seconds or above 5mph. The day that was introduced was the day I started looking for a new job. 1 week later had it lined up, I called my DSP and said I quit. Got the final checks, hugged my DSP owner, and said goodbye to Amazon forever. The relief I felt driving home was something I never felt in my life, it was amazing. That terrible job finally in my rear view mirror.
Exactly. 3 years I started in the beginning before prime vans happened and experienced the crazy changes. I became a dispatcher and That camera was the end. I couldn’t stand by and watch drivers get treated so badly. Amazon puts so much pressure on Dsp’s that they in turn would just expect the drivers to take it. Something as simple as delivering to doors made so stressful and uncomfortable. No times for bathroom or breaks or your stuck at night worrying for your safety in the middle of nowhere. Different routes everyday and some routes are just not made properly forcing you to fail. Everyday I was forced to try to get people to pick up days when I just wanted them to be able to rest and actually live.

You spoke to the various elements of the job that many of us who deliver / drive on behalf of Amazon can relate to, especially the driving at night in the middle of nowhere. Several times I have felt unsafe.
I will say that, at least with the blue vans, people know who is pulling up to the house at a dark hour.
Back in the day when there were only white vans, sometimes I would wonder if people felt like there was an intruder, especially when I delivered to those very rural areas or those houses that were tucked away behind a long tree lined driveway.
Personally, I think delivery should stop strictly at 7 PM no later.
I was once out so late that I returned to the station at 10 PM (well after everyone is supposed to be done) after a day of a terrible route and excessive packages as a relatively NEW person smh

As a driver who drove back in those days of white vans only and there was no such thing as a camera in the vehicle 😄… man that was nice.
I mean, I understand the safety measures that the camera brings about but I do think some of the regulations are a major deterrent for drivers.
For me, having to take off the seatbelt and put it on when my next house is literally two houses down feet away, is actually having me reconsidering staying on.
I recent started driving again this month. That seatbelt rule bothers me the most only when I’m in tight route neighborhoods.
It’s really the only thing I detest.
I’m truly all about safety but in neighborhoods with tight delivery stops that are footsteps away, having to keep putting on and taking off that seatbelt is almost discouraging
I’ve heard, though, once you get into a routine, it doesn’t really bother you as much.
I average 275-350 packages a day . 165-190 stops in FL where it’s hot as hell. I don’t turn off my van period , I don’t care what they tell me I leave it on all day. I’d rather risk getting written up or “suspended” then having a heat stroke out there , health first.
Man they’re firing people here for not turning off the vans and also blacklisting us from being able to drive for any other DSP that works for Amazon. It’s incredibly shady. I HOPE that doesn’t spread down there in the southern states cuz NOPE.
I still don’t turn my van off though. I told my dispatch, who I’m super chill with, that I’d rather be fired than have suffer a heat stroke. I haven’t been suspended for it yet, but I feel like it’s coming. Once I get suspended for it, I’ll probably look elsewhere before it ends up becoming a termination 🤣

When you talk about your stops how many miles are you really running.
7 years at 4 different DSP's. I've had every kind of route they have. Being that I've been playing basketball for 37 years I could finish any residential route in 5 hours without breaking. When I first started the vans were U-haul minivan rentals with plastic bins. The Vans were so bad that one day I had to hold the driver door shut when turning right or it would fly open. When I called to say "hay my driver door won't stay shut when I turn right" they said " just try and deal with it". I had to litterally shut the door before it slammed into a parked car in the narrow streets of West Seattle. Fastfoward 5 years and I was asked to drive the first Fed Ex UPS size van for the West Coast. I quit last year because the company I was working for indirectly assumed I stole a bunch of packages that were not on my van but on my route at the end after I was finished. I had to mark my last 16 stops that were at a locker in an apartment complex missing. Guess they were too stupid to figure out what happened. I had enough of all the complaints drivers complain about from being bit in the face on the nose by a dog at a house without a beware sign to not being promoted due to dishonest people who lie to claw their way through the ranks. Hard work does not payoff at Amazon. They are designed to force you out after you get a couple years experience so they don't have to pay more. Hard work gets you more hard work. Not bragging but I was a rare case of someone with the type of BEAST stamina that could beat the system. I had my own contract at my last job. I was paid more than anyone I ever heard of and could set my own schedule. Anyway Amazon is run like a communist company and was crazy strict during covid. We got yelled at "6 Feet!, 6 Feet! with megaphones. They had cameras set up on 72 inch TV's that had circles showing a red or green circle around you. If you went into somebody's cirlce yours turned red. F Amazon.
PS. Tips to Finish Fast.
1. Walk as little as Possible. Drive from house to house even if its one house over.
2. Park on the wrong side of the street in residencials
3. Sit upright in the seat.
4. ONly backup as much as needed. You only need to reverse a small amount to gain the angle you need to leave.
5. When entering into a stop park in a way you can leave quickly and easily
6. Do everything fast but in control. Everything from sitting, starting engine, to putting on your seatbelt, and messing with the phone
7. Stay organized.
8. Put all oversized in the back according to size and not according to order. *(Trust me its faster to load in the morning so you can get your coffee and snacks)
9. Hussle you piece shit.

When I first started working at Amazon I enjoyed the job. I too got put into the step van in Phoenix with anywhere from 330-430 packages, 185-199 stops and up to 290+ locations. I did this for 2 years and eventually experienced total burnout with the company, it was like hitting a wall and the job became completely un-enjoyable for me. The step vans get crazy hot in Phoenix too, and on top of that, Amazon has installed a bunch of sheet metal underneath the catalytic converters to prevent them from being stolen. By installing sheet metal under the converters, the floor now gets a lot hotter than usual... definitely not a good combination to have in Phoenix for their drivers.
Spot on with everything you are saying & after doing 195 + stops, who wants to rescue? Noone! I have an amazing DSP and I am given the same, or almost the same, route daily, so can't complain too much. It's the exhaustion and physical strain that kills me.... and I am in decent shape with lifting on my off days. I put 10+ miles a day on the watch while delivering. You want to lose weight while eating well...this is the job for you!
I had a garbage route for a decade, which is kinda similar except i take stuff away, rather than delivering. I had a ton of houses, and it was crazy around the holidays.
Anyways i used to get stressed about it, but when i began to perceive, and treat my route as workout it became an entire different experience that i grew to love.

Quitting tomorrow, this job is ridiculous. Not to sound like I don’t wanna work or anything, but getting 180 stops average 300+ packages is exhausting in so cal summer heat. And I’m a pretty in shape 26 year old guy. They barely trained me, and half the time I’m in country ass dirt roads in the middle of nowhere literally in mountains with stops 5 min apart or more sometimes. It’s crazy. At My DSP, we don’t get to the first stop until 11:30 because loadout is at 10:30 and it’s 45 min away our area. The only way I can see me getting done is if I don’t take my lunch or breaks. And I’m running pretty much the whole time.
And the routing app is not very accurate at all get out while you can

I quit two weeks ago, no two week notice. Amazon driver was a slave job and got a lot of disrespect in the streets. People think cause your Amazon they can shit on you. I would of stayed if I got like $25 an hour, not 16.50.

This sounds a lot like my experience. Not to mention the trash phones they provide, laggy and die fast, barely hold a charge, then you are expected to use your personal phone to finish up. Way more negatives than positives, and there’s too many opportunities in America to slave away there
If they call you for a rescue and you haven't taken your 30 minute lunch yet its like working for free. I tell them to check if I've taken my lunch before asking me to rescue. The labor laws for meal breaks are there for a reason. I've done this long enough to realize that flying thru stops to try and get home a hour or two is not worth putting a target on my back to do another workers route. That's what sweepers should be for. If you don't want to do a lot of recuses it not all just about speed, you need to know when to put the breaks on too and excepting staying out your full shift. Stay out 2 more hours in your shift or pick up someone elses 2 totes. Its a no brainer to me.
My DSP in iowa was giving me the most difficult route known on their list. 179 stops with 268 locations and 367 packages. I was only making $19.00 an hour payed weekly. It's not worth my time for the pay. I quit after doing it for 4 years. I got my experience. I needed to move to fedex as a driver. I have orientation tomorrow yeah. I make $39.00 an hour & get paid weekly (Fridays). I work on (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday). I have Sundays & Wednesdays off.
Yes I work for Amazon and sadly you're correct. It has changed much. A lot of dsp have rental vehicles that are terrible. Yes Saturday I had 200 packages. Mostly mix of apartments and houses. Friday I had a mix of apartments, businesses and houses.
But with everything you have to do your job or move on and look elsewhere.

I worked Oct 2021 to April 2022....I still get group emails and got one earlier saying the cameras are getting installed in all vans....Mannnnn I was seatbelt behind the back driver cause I had 170 190 stops per shift.... even after peak season...I said nahhhh man... I'm out 🤦🏾😭😫😅😅😅

@vegas7023 I got into an argument with someone on Facebook, my profile was public and so was my work info. Learned my lesson when it comes to not putting down where I work on any social media since then, one of the hardest lessons of my life. Shitty part was my DSP did not want me to be fired, they knew the guy was clearly an openly racist piece of shit, but they didn't like my responses back to that guy. So Amazon basically forced my DSP to fire me after 3 weeks of suspension. I just recently joined FedEx Ground though.
People don’t realize when it’s 90 degrees outside. And you HAVE to shut ur van off at every stop and can’t use your AC it’s like you don’t have it on at all.
Group stops are what made me want to quit. Honestly, rescues are only a problem to me when they send you a really late one. But most of the time, if you get done significantly early, the driver volunteers for the hours, or the dispatchers would want you to help out.

I used to work for amazon dsp. 200/330+ everyday. Tearing my knees and ankle up. Until I invested in a prius and started driving for doordash making 1250 a week lol. It's almost laughable how easy my job is compared to slaving at amazon. Only thing that was weird at first is realizing your now your own boss.

The new engine off policy and the no backing is killing Amazon drivers in Florida. They said it’s for safety reasons, I called B.S. because exactly when gas prices started rising, they introduced this policy. It used to be turned off engine 60% of your route, but now it’s 100%. Which to me makes no point of having an A/C inside the van.

I have been with amazon for just over 2 months now up in western canada. When I first started I was going hard trying to finish my day quick, I then found out that rescues are mandatory after doing 1-2 rescues almost every day. When its snowing outside and the roads are icy the last thing I want to do when I work hard to get my route done fast is go help someone that has been moving slow all day. Once I found out they are mandatory with no extra pay I just been timing my route so I end my day at rts time so I have less of a chance to get sent to someone else
Right now I'm dealing with daily cube outs. Meaning every inch of space of the van is occupied by packages. I don't even have enough space to sort my stuff to work faster. This combined with a heatwave is making me want to just quit.
That's the biggest problem and they put the dumbass shelves in there thinking it helps but all they do is get in the way. I have to mark all 4 sides of my overflow with sharpie now and I'm still behind some days.
Best way to work at Amazon is to be slow on your route and they will never give you a big route you try and get done early they will give you more and more each day

I had 126 stops one time with 288 locations 370 packages. One thing i absolutley hate with my dsp is that they keep on giving me different routes. It is more difficult and time consuming to keep delivering new routes especially when it is completely dark by 5:30pm and we dont start until 10:40am.
I left a year ago because of the rescues , the 200+ stops & favoritism. I work at FedEx ground now & I love my route I know it by heart. I average around 80-90 stops with 120-170 packages majority heavy items but I’m done by 2-3pm

Most stops I ever had was 197 , I got to the last 10 and my dispatch told me to come back cause I was going to slow and there’s no one to rescue me. I now work delivery for a Car parts warehouse and it is great! Better pay , union benefits, vacation, paid sick days , and the best part is I get my own truck and my own route. They also pay me for a full day regardless if I finish early or not , no rescuing anyone , no apartments, no stuck up civilians and i my day is usually 10-20 stops , each stop has a bunch of parts and packages but that’s fine cause my truck is loaded for me in the morning. I’m so glad I left amazon

@@FrAnK48995 I work for a company that owns a bunch of dealerships. If you look around in your area the dealerships will have a parts department they generally will need a part delivery driver. If you are lucky they will pay pretty well and the work will be far less than amazon. The pay per hour for me is lower but that’s ok cause the positives of the job outweigh that. I don’t know if you will locally have something like I found but some googling you might find something.
I can relate alot. 190 stops. They say we are allowed lunch and 2 15 min breaks but with the amount of stops they pile on you is impossible to do that. This is especially if you're in an area where the nearest bathroom is not close by. Yep, the stories of piss bottles in the vans is true...especially in Utah.
You can be the safest driver ever but the app says otherwise.
Then there's the management and DSP owner that constantly bitches at you to improve your score.
During covid, they have warehouse workers yelling at you "6 feet!!!" I don't know how many times this added to everybodies stress level. Every damn day. If you are wearing a mask, plus the noise in the warehouse, you can't possible hear anybody unless you stand closer.
Yeah I never take my 2nd 15min break. Don't have time. Hardest part is finding a bush to piss in. Sometimes have no choice to piss in a bottle
Ya are the problem. TAKE YOUR (2) PAID 15 min breaks!! And 30 min lunch break. If you dont finish; return to station. We HAVE TO all show that Amazon is setting too high of standards until they lower their expectations or higher the pay, but why would they when ya are skipping your breaks and doing 100% on a 185 stop 40 group stop route.

I worked a ten hour shift. In 90 degree weather . No brake didn’t want to fall behind but after 7 miles of walking I was done . Send out the rescue and get me on my way. Then you have to fuel the truck do an inspection and turn in your phone and keys . Now it is 9 pm and they want to see you tomorrow. I worked six days in a row then quit!!
I started this job like 2 months ago. My boss is cool and all the dispatch workers too. They know which routes are the worse, so they send help for those routes early.
Last week was prime week, my biggest route was 370 packages but it was in a nice area and I done early. It's rare that they send you to rescue someone because they have backups for the worse routes, and when they do it's only like 30 packages.

Nice video. I am at my 2nd DSP. #1 was bad. I ran to and from every house. They would tell me at the end of the day, I am too slow. #2 first day they said, "have fun!". I was like, what? But they never criticize, and are always upbeat and professional. Love my DSP now. I am beginning to interview for UPS. Sounds much harder than Amazon. So, I probably will turn them down.

I had my van at the amazon facility parked and they fired me on the spot for leaving the driver door open with the car on while I went to get my packages from staging area I was in my 2nd week and it was out of nowhere he said it was a first tier infraction and he had me sign a paper

I left recently due to the fact that I got a new job paying 10.00 more and the fact that I started with Amazon last year in October and wasn’t going to endure another peak season! Not full time anyway but the DSP I worked for was decent but you should quickly realize that it’s a job not a career. The only position to move into is dispatch but with the high turnover rate, you will be jumping back into the vans delivering!

I’m making 32.00 an hour plus incentives which I hit each week which puts me at 1,700 after taxes. I work at Cintas picking up soiled uniforms and drop of the cleans. I have 24 stops per 10 hour shift (Monday thru Thursday) and have Friday thru Sunday off. Full health benefits, 6% match for 401k which I’m up 2,509 and I haven’t been there a whole year yet. A great company that takes care of their employees that’s been around since the Great Depression and is world wide.
I hate Amazon so much after becoming a DSP driver. It’s the worst job I’ve ever had and that’s saying a lot. I just got suspended for a week for taking a phone call while driving (my first ever infraction). I’m praying to god I get another job to avoid having to physically assault management. Choose y’all DSP’s wisely!

Originally, back in 2015, I was about to work for Amazon because my dad recommended me, but ultimately changed my mind because of how difficult that job really is. So I'm glad I didn't work there.

I finish early all the time because I love running. Ill do rescues and run around too, but on the way back ill take my time to really stretch that O.T. Since I always do rescues, or occasional phone cables or jump starts I get extra power than the other drivers but I damn well earned it.

Kept trying to finish early because of daylight working against delivering but also the thought of going home early...if done early enough one can still go grab food at certain places.
I worked 1 day with a trainer and I could see the writing on the wall... I finished the day and the very next day I called up Walmart auto center and accepted a technician job making 50 cents more an hour.... I live in Florida and first of all the temperature along with the humidity is brutal, they they overload you with a unbearable amout of packages/stops which makes you not want to take a break or even want to go pee or you will be going home late. I will never ever go back to work for them...They can suck it! Worst job I have ever had ans I have had some bad ones. I don't think I would do that job for $2/hour more.
When we do Rescues at the DSP I work for we get paid a dollar per package plus hourly.. I did a rescue, an one of the stops had 25 packages lol, I made like 75 extra bucks in a hour.. Now I will say there is a reason for Rescues.. When you do help someone it will piggy back on time when you deliver, meaning those packages will be delivered early, the DSP gets bonus pay from Amazon for it, DSP side not employee.. Amazon also pays the DSP for the full 10 hours for every route per contract, So if you are working for a DSP scheduled for 10 hours a day and you get done in 8 hours and they don't pay you for the full 10 hours, the DSP is keeping that extra 2 hours pay.. Most people do not know this.. If your DSP pays you for the 10 hours even if you get done early that is a Good honest DSP company to work for, stay away from the others. Some owners like living the High life while there employees struggle to make a living wage, they also do that to get you to work more days then scheduled, you may of gotten 40 hours over a 5 day period, but your DSP owners got the 10 hours you never see.. That adds up when you got 50 plus drivers. Knowing these things is why I'm am currently looking for a better opportunity, where I don't feel like I'm getting sharked out of money for working hard.
So rescues benefit no one but the higher ups? I've started to take my time and get my 10hrs just so i wont be sent on a rescue lol, i don't even get sent rescues so tells me people aren't pulling their weight.

@chrismadison305I got interviewed by 5 different dsp 1 out of 5 only offered the guarantee 10hrs the rest said you might finish early and go home only clocking in 5 to 6 hrs a day then when peak season is over I hear drivers was quitting because they would only rack up 26 hrs a week , that’s no money but I hear the dsp that does the guarantee 10hrs are very picky who they recruit funny how I was turn down because they said I was over qualified due to working with FedEx delivery 😂
Currently there. I was stuck at 190 / 360 and doing daily rescue sometimes two. I was mentally zapped. Then two weeks ago it changed. Everyone is at 160 to 180. They started sweeping the the 180 and up at load out. Not sure why but all of a sudden they are worried about people getting burned out. Even the fulfillment crew is moving carts for us. Trying to stick with it and transfer to Colorado Springs next spring. Commercial group stops are a thing where I’m at. Strip Mall stuff with suite #’s.

Its easy to get around the Turn off compliance, Once you are at your stop, turn off the van, take the key out then click on I've parked.. Then restart the van.. Mentor only looks for key removal when you hit I've parked.. I do it all the time.
Turning the van off does suck, I can’t even use the Bluetooth anymore since it disconnects and the Fords we drive it literally takes like 10 seconds for the AC to kick in. But the biggest issue is the group stops. My stops are going down but my packages are going way up. Houses I used to deliver to that were separate stops have turned into group stops. Really the only upside is the other drivers at my dsp are cool so it’s fun to complain to each other about who gots it worst 😂

Still working at Amazon I am a Dispatcher & Driver. I move quick out there which lands me with 180s on the days I do drive. Honestly it’s starting to become too much considering I’ve been here for over a year but I don’t know where else to go job wise so I don’t quit.
Yeah 180 stops was starting to become a thing whenever I stopped going. When it was summer, delivering 280 plus packages would be a challenge. Most days I was pouring water over my head lmao 😂

I’ve been having commercial group stops on a regular basis only being at Amazon for about 3 weeks. I’ve had two different ride along some micromanage me because they’re saying I’m not organized. I’m running at almost every stop and take only one break so I don’t die. But I end up having to get rescued most of the time, and always barely finish before nine. I’m guessing this job just isn’t for me because people that are acting like I’m slow and it pisses me off because I’m trying my fucking hardest to get everything done but it’s not fucking possible.
I quit Amazon 3 days ago and went to Darnel. I'm making Styrofoam restaurant to go plates by passing the styrofoam through a pressing machine. You don't lift heavy stuff like Amazon. The job is much easier and they don't just throw you into another department without training. Even the pay is better than Amazon.

I worked for a DSP for Amazon. They lied to me in the interview. They said if we finish early we get still get paid for the full day. That didn't happen. Also they only gave me 25 hours a week when they guaranteed 40. I left and went to the Post office. Better hours and benefits.
When you go to a rescue and the person you're rescuing gives you their apartments without notifying you. Some people just don't have any shame.
One time I rescued someone that had all apartments. I was on the verge of driving the Amazon vehicle off a cliff lmao 🤣
I got rescused alot the first month. I told them take whatever. Some took what they were told and some didnt. After 2 mos, i dont get rescued and happy to help people who are new.

i try that but sometimes it backfires lmao. I be stalling and then they send my ass to rescue anyway lmao. I get so heated. My dsp has like a monthly rescue limit tho. So i finish fast and get those out of the way quick.

I work out of Bellingham, Mass, and boy the volume has been crazy lately. I started 2 months ago, my heaviest day has been 190 stops w/ 330 packages. Lately consistently getting minimum 160 stops and 270 packages. I hope this doesn’t keep up because boy it can be rough sometimes. I drive the van, and when I get 18+ totes and a bunch of oversize organization is difficult. Totes falling, having to unload half the van to get to oversize I need, it sucks. Hope things get better.

I deliver for a contractor and I can say that its either frustrating or a good day or a mix of both. Im saying because of the pay and 401k. Ive been putting up with it for 8 months so far with no plans of quitting plus my DSP is awesome.

I worked for Amazon for a year and was sprinting my deliveries with no breaks no heat/ no ac the no ac wasn’t a big deal but driving the cdv with no heat when it is 15 degrees or less was ridiculous I was doing 190 + deliveries in the Lexington ky almost 300 houses a day because of group stops and apartments closing the lockers down to Amazon so I would have to run door to door to the apartments that was not included in my route time and I would still be getting done at 9:30 to 11 with a hour and a half drive back home the vans were nasty they smelled like urine and fecal matter tires was always bald brakes was always bad they didn’t care about yours after other than what the camera shows that’s it I left bc I was underpaid I was clocking in on my legs a day 10 to 15 miles on my legs through my Apple Watch now I’m w fed ex much better job ups is where it’s at but good luck been trying for 3 years now and have been a delivery driver for over 6
Group stops are ridiculous. They say "oh you only I have 150 stops" but one stop you're going to 4 different houses... Some 3 doors down and across the street just to keep the stops down.

Worked at Amazon, I left and went to USPS, then quit USPS and went back to Amazon...and now going back to USPS. There doesn't seem to be much security working for a DSP
Yeah there really isn’t! I saw a video the other week where a dsp just let go of all there employees when they showed up!

I’m just working for Amazon as my side gig while my primary job is ups. It’s just for me to get my car and head back to school then quit Amazon.
I was a top notch delivery driver at Amazon in Cincinnati, I went through two logistics companies, the one I started with was dissolveing, and I didn't know till month two on the job. The dispatchers were horrible, and im glad they dissolved cause me and the Manger hated each other. Then the other logistic company picked me up, after my first logistic company faded away, it started out great, loved the management, the dispatchers even the other drivers. I did do some rescues, I did the most stops, the hardest routes, I did not take breaks cause I was like you, oh I'm doing this route, I'll be done in six in a half hours. Then they gave me a raise, for my performance, after one week, they took it away, I was like wtf, where is my raise?! When someone gets a raise they are supposed to keep it till further notice not take it away after one week. So I was livid upset, they told me, you have to do more multiple rescues to earn it, I said to the managers, that's what I've been doing, now you expect me to do more?! I left without a notice I was so upset, now three an half months later, five different logistics companies wants me to come back and deliver for them. In my tri state area, I came close to working with FedEx, but they are fireing there drivers from left to right, even some of there veterans. But will see what these guys got to say. Keep it up man!
Amazon does’t care about us, in the summer my van said the temp was 130°, i had other guys say 140° plus, i mean i could cook food in there. And they’re still forcing you to do 200+ stops, honestly it’s way more with groupped stops, and obviously having to rescue someone EVERY DAY no matter what. And they still forced you to turn your van on and off etc etc. good thing I’m joining another driving company lol. They said all the amazon people coming to them and they love it
Okay I usually get 360+ packages and 140-180 stops .. I drive a van so you must imagine how full it is every day .. I get rescued around 5 when I only have 20 stops left or so .. its not my fault that they want to send me a rescue because they don’t want to pay me the time the it actually takes to complete that route mind you its 95 percent group stops.. I can finish that route in 8 or 9 hours but not they want me to finish by 6:30 or 7 so that I can go rescue or go home that way they don’t pay me over time
I quit because of the cameras. I loved my job but i left before we got the netradyne vans. I now got a job with usps with greater pay just starting out as a mail carrier.

I’ve been delivering for Amazon for a year in Florida. Agree with everything you say. I enjoy it though. Especially the hours and creating my own 40 hour schedule.
The issue is Majority of the Amazon drive Not All, can’t seem to deliver packages to the right home or address. I have had this problem constantly, and Amazon keeps saying they will take care of the issue but nothing really is being done because it keeps repeating, They all in a hurry to go home, plus, They take pictures of another home and add your address just to cover them up. That don’t fly, I had this problem yesterday. And called Amazon and that package I did NOT receive is under investigation. They have asked me if I wanted replacement I did, BUT I am so upset I canceled the replacement. So today still NO Package.
I’m in Arizona and as a step van driver it sucks, 180-200 with 300-350 stops a day usually they ground step vans in the summer but Amazon said no this year, we also at 9 am are already 100-105 degree temps and Amazon still only gives us 15 minutes to load van in full uniform we are already exhausted before route even begins, the amount of group stops is ridiculous I’m moving over to fedex ground, in 2 weeks not to mention next week is peek not looking forward to, I refuse to rescue ppl that have been there longer than me, I’ll help newbies or if their route was smaller than mine

It’s doesn’t matter with company are you working for (FedEx, USPS,UPS or Amazon worst), any company of those companies can not give to you what you deserve for the work you’re doing and the amount of money they’re making. 🤓
I worked for one and it was so bad people would come in to work and didn’t get a route and had to go back home so you didn’t get any work and you didn’t get paid and you just wasted gas and yes the rescues were very annoying

I work for a DSP. Thinking about leaving. Even thinking about going back to Fedex Ground. I find it difficult for me to deliver to more than 125-130 per shift. My routes are in the hills, and exhausting.
Delivering is easy compared to all the jobs I’ve hard. I’ve worked in hot ass kitchens with pizza ovens behind me. Full heat. Amazon itself likes to micro manage tf out of the drivers. They took an easy simple job and made it crap. I’m thinking about jumping ship to FedEx with all the extra new rules they like to do. One day they’ll tell you to not mark packages missing then the next day they’ll tell you to mark them. Like I said easy delivering just hate the company lol

@@matthewp9740 They are, i think sometime this month they are gonna have secret amazon employees check out delivery vans on route to see if drivers are leaving it on or off. This is one of the reasons why i put in my 2 weeks and ive been working at amazon for about 3 years now.
I did 244 commercial this last prime week. 355 total. (Only got about 20 packages into a locker). Elevators were out of service, it was 104 degrees, and almost every package was on the third floor. I came back and told dispatch if i saw my route with 200+ commercial again. I would not come in.
Still leaving in a week tho
I'm Chicago we get 23 bags on the norm with 30+overflow. 21 is like wow. A small route.
The rescues at one point got so bad that I started to take my hour break to avoid them. Because I was one of them that would just take my 30 or sometimes just a quick 15 for a bite, kill 160-180 stops with the step vans, get done early so I can go home just to get a late as rescue at 8:30.

i understand the rescues. i got a route with four totes. then i rescued other drivers, i never say im rescuing you. i say im picking up packages. i need the hours, i want money.
some days i have more than 10 totes and there is someone with four totes. and we see each other at the end of the day
Currently working here.... a ton on bullshit and all we hear about is "money this... money that". He's a great guy but he's only concerned with how much he can make with Amazon's unrealistic expectations.

Commercial group stops are a thing! They're usually strip mall type businesses or in some cases are renting out spaces in a larger warehouse.

Full time schedule part time hours, no route that day. Called my dsp said I’m switching to part time. Got called in 5 mins before our meeting that day for a 200 stop route that I’ve never had before during a thunderstorm/flash flood in a piss stained van, literally piss on all the sliding doors, got a van exchange and same issue, piss stained but less. Did 135 stops, brought back 4 totes and 25 overflow as well as my two weeks.
Im working currently for Fedex Ground for 140 a day almost always working longer than 8 hours a day , they dont pay anything for doing overtime extra work ( how ?). and also in order to finish my route in a 8-9 hour time frame taking a lunch is non existent. Have Amazon drivers getting 18 hourly for 4 / 10 hour shifts a week. Seems like a no brainer to me. Taking my driver test for Amazon Thursday.

@@matthewp9740 Got the job only forgot to GOAL on the second maneuver. Amazon, from benefits to PTO to truck organization is just better imo. The montoring sucks but when getting paid hourly driving a bit slower and more cautious isn't asking much. Fedex is borderline abusive to work for kidding but kinda not really.

No commercial group stops, but reshippers where you deliver 100+ packages to a single residential house while on a 180+ stop route. Not enough time to do that. I did over 200 stops 4 days in a row and it’s just too much bullshit. I got a job offer from FedEx last week and I’m HYPED to get out.
Yikes! I’ve never heard of that one before! I think the most I’ve delivered is 30 packages.
I am about to start training this week. My interviewer said to expect 200+ stops. I didn't really have perspective on how much that is until I watched tons of videos like these and people were complaining about 170+. Luckily I am able to only work 3 days right now but I'm pretty nervous.
Hope the best for you!! It really depends on your dsp! Hopefully they start you off slow with about 80 stops or so.

just take your time drive carefully and stay hydrated. i recommend getting a hydro flask and filling it up with ice. gas stations will also let you get free ice(sometimes) if you need more. bonus tip: if you want to finish early organize your stuff once you get to the first stop and never enter a yard without checking for dogs first. ive been to houses where it almost seemed like the customer intentionally left their dogs out so i could get bit. what they dont know is bought a go pro just for situation like that and will sue if bit.

My son just started working here in New Jersey Tinton Falls he works a 4-day 10-hour week Monday through Thursday he's off Friday Saturdays and Sundays they're the best days to have all 21.00 an hour to start $50 bonus a week and he gets a 3000 within 6 months bonus and the dispatchers are always here to help he said all the time
start a month ago and ive been having a rush rush rush to get the stops knock out and its causes me to have violation and possible get my terminate ig....i honestly feel like there should be like 130 stops.....ill be nicer maybe 150 depends on the route but man ive have broken rules just to get shit done.

The DSP I work for is complete trash…we don’t even have the big box trucks only the small vans…during prime week I had 17 totes and 44 overflow packages and most of the overflows are huge boxes. Plus they just implemented a new rule saying we can no longer have the phone mounts on the window, it has to be on the dash🤦🏻♂️
Get a 2nd device from your DSP, hide it in a pouch and in the glove department and you should always get a 850 on mentor, I been a driver for over 3 years, currently making over $1850 every two weeks after taxes on 110 hours a pay period and that's during non peak

@@Spikenector here in Texas you start at around 18 and some change and it depends where your located for overtime. There is plenty of work here so there are some people that get as much as they can!
I used to do that for my old DSP but my current DSP don’t deserve that from me
They paying 19.50 up in PA waiting on my background now getting ready for the hype. I was working at the Amazon fresh but they only pay 15.50 and the management crazy.
I left my dsp because they would send me home on days I was scheduled then call me in on my days off even after knowing I drove 45 minutes one way to work. I was able to go along with it most of the time but not after I had a baby. I couldn't go off my schedule like that when I'm paying for daycare based on a schedule that changed every week. I also didn't like being throttled at 70 hours and never getting 80.
If you get 180 stops and you finish early all the time Amazon will give you more work with either doing rescues or adding more to your current work load.
I got rescued pretty often and I didn't give a fuukk..lol. Thing is, I used to finish on time because I wasn't taking my 30min lunch and two 15s. I was ok with that. But amazon felt like they could give me about 40 more stops. Amazon makes these routes without your breaks in mind. So I make sure I take all my owed breaks. At my dsp, the same ones always rescuing are the ones that dont take their breaks. In 1 month, you worked 8 hours for free. I would never..
Lmao 😂 yeah that’s feel you! It’s pretty much a cycle. Work fast, get more work, then when people finally catch on they slow down.
There's too great a gap between the front line driver and the corporate center where the computers generate the actual addresses and routes. The IT people just see addresses on a map, crunch the numbers and create the routes without understanding the logistics of day to day delivery.
Each route has TOO MANY PACKAGES for the average person to delivery safely with adequate breaks. Period. This is an easy fix: low ball the size of the routes at first and then increase them gradually to fit the driver. But the DSP's are incentivized to take on HEAVY PKG counts to increase their profit. So average people wanting a reasonable job are overwhelmed with OVERSIZED ROUTES.
Amazon micromanages everything about the routes. They could easily make the route sizes reasonable and consistent from day to day. But they don't care. And there's no way to communicate directly with them.
I had commercial group stops in century city and down Wilshire blvd in Los Angeles 😂😂 300 stops 300 packages 5 days a week

I left because of the area i was delivering to.. it was like a little LA with one way streets, narrow streets, busy streets and very steep streets.. also the houses were either mansion type houses or apartments.. and the drive back to my dsp was about an hour and a half because of traffic.
Yeah I know those areas can be really tough! I’ve found out that the area that you deliver really matters! I hated getting mansion routes. Even though the houses were nice. The drive ways were long af or gated 😂
Here is a true back story…I worked Amazon DPS because I was a class A CDL holder who wanted to be home daily…My first day I went with a trainer and it was fun…a lil fast paced but I was up for it. Then I was out on my own. Whenever I took a brake I got behind. Some people said don’t take breaks because you will be behind. I don’t know how they calculated the time schedule but it was too close and always the driver had to push for time. You cannot tell someone only take X amount of time for each delivery. Some people have larger drive ways and lots of heavy boxes that you have to get one at a time. I had a DPS van with about 3,000 packages and you start whenever your boss wants you too. I started at 11AM and finished at midnight yes it took me all day. It was horrible and you have to drive back to a city to use the bathroom. I quit that day with lots of packages left over
Dam I'm thinking of doing it but the dsp I went to especially this time of year seem they don't want part time workers they want full time 4 to 5 days 8+ hours and seasonal workers like that days and hours... guess I'll abort heard too many bads 😂 some quit before peek 😂 over worked doing 300+ packages
