@Logic genius The worlds largest antibody studies put covid19's IFR around 1%, not the 0.1% that the SWPRS site suggestions. We've had nearly 70,000 excess deaths already this year, which were not purely caused by the lockdown. If were not for the lockdown this figure would be way higher.
Regarding the HCID status, just take a look at the fatality rates of those diseases which are considered a HCID, then look at how little they spread when compared to covid19. Then you should realise why governments across the world have taken the action they have.

I have followed Vernon Coleman for some time. I think he presents a welcome antidote to the constant barrage of fear-mongering propaganda in the media by showing that covid-19 presents about as much threat to human life as a seasonal flu rather than being some sort of unprecedented plague that poses such threat to all human life on earth that all human activity has to be severely restricted and monitored.
He also discusses the many ethical issues raised by the measures imposed on us supposedly taken to protect us from it and the many vested interests on the part of politicians, scientific advisors and the pharmaceutical industry that are inextricably woven into the pandemic scenario.
It is impossible to have an honest conversation about this subject without taking these things into account..
Vernon Coleman is far from being the only informed commentator highlighting these things, but he does communicate them in an accessible way to a lay audience.

Hello, Dr. John from Goldsboro, North Carolina in the U.S. where it appears (to me) that two-thirds of the folks I observe out and about take the current situation seriously to some degree but others are just as determined not to be lectured and forced to wear masks and maintain social distancing. Who knows if they even wash their hands frequently. Many people here are still of the narrow-minded opinion that it's the government controlling the population to which I ask, "Are you aware this is a worldwide pandemic?" To which I get blank stares or replies of "conspiracy theories" or such. I don't know, it's almost as if there is an underlying affliction affecting common sense or respect. I am lucky. I am retired and can sit at home all day if I wish. Today I did have to go to the grocery store or "market" as you might say. There I observed the employees strictly performing their sanitizing tasks, cleaning cart handles after each use, marks on floors in checkout lines to maintain social distancing, the clerks using hand sanitizer after each customer, etc. Anyway, just writing you to let you know that I, along with many others, appreciate the effort you go through everyday to keep us informed. I watch as many of your videos as possible, not a big fan of the "telly" as you Brits refer to it. I enjoy watching history documentaries and such. Have a great weekend! Robert in NC.

Mr Brown & Ladybug - I live in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Today was the first day that our city mandated mask wearing. However, I don't think there is any consequence if you don't wear a mask. My town has been flooded with tourist from all over the country since May 1st. Almost no tourist have been wearing masks or social distancing. It's been non-stop party time. I too am retired and have stayed away from the crowds as best I can. Today I had to go to the grocery store. I wore a mask (I've been mask wearing for weeks) as did most of the customers - for the first time. However, the store was crowded with entire families in tow - for some reason tourist have to grocery shop with every member of their extended family. They shop in huge groups, it's not unusual to see 6 to 10 members of the family from babies to grandparents. There were swarms of children running amuck throughout the store - children with no face mask and absolutely no sense of social distancing. Today I did not see any extra effort by store employees to sanitize - there was no sanitizing of cart handles, the directional markers on the floor had been removed, and the keypads on the credit card devices were NOT being cleaned between customers!!! It's as if store management has just given up. I look at all these people and wonder if they ever wash their hands! The people in my town will continue to spread this virus as long as it circulates in humans!

Hello Dr. Campbell. Thank you for the excellent update as usual. I have noticed here in the Virginia suburbs of Washington, DC that there seems to be a decrease in common colds since the quarantine/lockdown has began (it started in early March here). This is likely due to social distancing, mask wearing, hand-washing and decreased person-to-person interaction. I am hoping that the spread of flu virus in the fall will be similarly reduced by these factors as well. @@PJ-wv7dd the deaths will have a lower rate than New Jersey until Florida hospitals are overwhelmed. Since New Jersey we have discovered three treatments that reduce the death rate by about 35% total.
That's another reason to slow and flatten spread and to avoid getting sick as long as possible even if you think it's inevitable. Because a year from now the death rate might be down 60% or they might discover a vaccine.
Also if you have a million cases of covid-19, that's a million chances for it to mutate in some way that makes it more lethal or more contagious.

BTW I am 62 years old and live in NYC. As far as COVID-19 is concerned I believe keeping your immune system strong, wearing a mask and social distancing are three important elements in warding off the COVID-19.

Plus hydroxy clq used in severely affected patients has been shown to help I believe. Would be interesting to hear John's thoughts on this as he clearly supports vitamin D for boosting immune system.

Most of the EU and the NHS here have all stopped use of HCQ, it was trialled many times by each health service. I think the NHS had said was it was useless due to the late stage people would present themselves at hospital. This was of course the NHS plan to prevent the mass overload as seen in Italy and Spain.
Back at the start Germany, France and the U.K. ran four trials of 200 cases on HCQ and one patient in France had a tiny improvement. Once more cases were available they trialled extensively.
In Spain the news reported doctors and staff were attacked back in Mar-Apr because families found out they stopped using it. They’d also found it useless.
No harm in trying but plenty harm in forcing ineffective treatment when we’d found other medicines worked.

i don't know about farmed furs, but synthetic fur alternatives are usually made of plastic or patrolium biproduct so there's actually a climate change case to be made against them - at least wild hunted furs are significantly lower impact, and of course naturally decompose in a way synthetics do not. I don't know the numbers on farmed fur in terms of carbon footprint - i assume it varies by farm, but synthetics have their own issues.
