    During my cab driving days, I used to work religiously from 5:00am to 7:00pm, that is 14 hours, seven days a week. I made sure I get my 7 hours or sleep and an hour for gym 4 times a week. My only days off used to be during holidays or when there was a bad snowstorm. Did that for a whole year and reached my financial goal of that time.

      Is that 100 hours all at your actual job or is it including things like chores and cooking? Because in one week there's 168 and ideally 56 of those hours need to be spent asleep meaning just 12 extra hours to do laundry, cooking, showering, brushing your teeth, etc. assuming the 100 is "at work" time

      @@ultraboy99x nah it was actually awfull. I lived on a farm in the middle of nowhere for 5 months (closed shop/town was 80km away). On that farm I had to live with the most horrible person I ever met, who would just yell at people 24/7. He would not give me lunchtime (12-16 hour work days, without lunch), always asked me to work on saturdays and just treat me like absolute shit in general. After I left he got fired for sexual intimidation of a co-worker and on the computer it came to the light that there where videos of female co-workers being filmed in the shower. Those 5 months where absolute utter garbage. Moving on to the fun stuff and that is what im doing right now. I am currently still in school and have to graduate at a company (i am doing a project for them). When I finish school I want to apply for farmers work in the cannabis sector. I am looking for a job in the trance of growing manager. Taking care of the irrigation, fertilizer and crop protection products for cannabis plants. The only thing I learned on that farm is that no matter the circumstances, life will get better at some point. One day out of that farm I had one of the best nights off my life (I say one day, but it was in 5 minutes after i fully left the farm and checked in, in the hotel). It wasnt that I couldnt handle the work stress, or even the person I was talking about, its just that it was a complete waste of my life.

    I’m tired of googling “long hours of work” or whatever and every single thing that pops up is office people. People who have to sit down in ac all day long at a computer. I haven’t seen one article about a person doing physical labor for 60+ hours a week. Makes me mad cause all I do are physical labor jobs and I can’t relate to any article. With tips like “stand up and stretch ever 30 minutes “ I’ve been standing for the past 8 hours lifting logs into a chipper... or “go outside for fresh air” hello, I’ve been 50ft up in a tree all morning, I don’t need fresh air. Great video by the way, I like your self motivation. I just want to see some construction workers making videos or landscapers or anyone that doesn’t work in an office all day.

      I'm not undermining physical work but unless you've worked really long hours in an office job you wouldn't understand. Sitting 12-14 hours a day in front of a computer with pressure from your boss and tight deadlines ain't as easy as you think, probably even more stressful cos you barely move your body and sit at one spot for so long.

    • @montanawhite5699
      @montanawhite5699 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@lettuce1305 I totally understand that an office job can be stressful, in some cases probably more stressful, especially if you have to deal with clients or people on the phone. I was just tired of every single news article, or video, or whatever saying “how to feel better at work” or “how to make the day go by faster at work” or whatever. And EVERY single article is about office jobs. They say “stand up and stretch” or “go outside for a minute for fresh air” or “walk around the office” and I’m thinking what about the rest of the world, who is outside in the hot son carrying heavy crap from one spot to another, we are already outside, walking, doing everything they suggest. I’m not trying to say an office job is easy, I’m just tired of everything you google about jobs only being about office jobs. I would love to try an office job one day, but one where you don’t have to talk to clients on the phone. I’ve had enough interactions with tourists and the public on a resort I worked at.

    • @ericdaniel323

      Most people who think they work 60+ hours don't really work much more than 40-45 anyway. The more time they spend at the office, the more time they waste.
      I see it in my office all the time from young hard-chargers staying until 10 every night. Since they come in at 9 am, they multiply 13 hours times 5 days and get 65 hours. But they don't subtract the hour they take for lunch and dinner and a few trips to the gym each week. If they had to punch a clock, they would probably come in around 50.

If you can nap on your break do it with a good alarn. I used to love cooking and taking food but there's no time so I just order out at lunch and eat. I also watch kids videos like barbie movies, steven universe, my little pony, etc to keep my mood brighter and more level. I just started a new term and i have a day planner and have been working out a set sleep schedule every night and budget planner to organize things. I also working out on my plans for the year and organizing them to the best of my ability. I am trying to do whatever I can possibly do to keep my energy levels okay as my family has a history of Cfs and i hope to not succumb to the hereditary disorder. Thankfully my roommate who is in her early 60's has been mentoring me and boosting my self esteem which is something no one has really done in my life time. Anyways sorry for my rant. Goal guys you rock.

    Love the idea of this video.. if you happen to see this and can talk about it now. I'm assuming the show you were working on was "The Umbrella Academy" since you are wearing a beanie for it and it's production is taking place in Toronto..

    • @mrdojob
      @mrdojob 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You're either lying or a prime example of someone who needs to be bullied out the workforce by his colleges. Nothings worse than having someone who works ridiculous hours being used as a benchmark for the perfect employee by a manager.

    • @elovaughnelwell8980
      @elovaughnelwell8980 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      mrdojob well I'm certainly not lying, nor am I a single employee attempting to impress management. Everybody in the company, who works in the field, works these hours. 20 days on and 10 days off.

    • @mrdojob
      @mrdojob 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      That;s just sad really. The 10 days off is great but where I work everyone is working for their drink or drugs and nothings worse than being forced to keep up with someone on meth working every hour under the sun to get his next fix. I keep ending up in that situation all the time and it's hellish.

    Jesus that's not healthy. Hope you're okay. I read that book. I do respect it, and wish i could get to a state of deep work but it's interrupted by my physical disabilities. As for the social media stuff he's totally right but the solutions he proposed were a bit too radical for me to consider sustainable, personally. I imagine you learnt a lot that week, good job.

      Yeah I had to do this one summer because I didn't have enough money to pay for my upcoming college tuition. Difference was that my job was physical, while yours are mental. As a (now) programmer, I think it's easier to work this much if you're doing physical work. It's SOOO hard to try to force your brain to work well when you're tired. So easy to get distracted by literally nothing. But if it's physical work, you just keep pressing on, which is what I did that one summer. One week of it is definitely hard, props to you for doing that. But as you alluded to at the end of the video, it really gets tough when you have to do this for weeks on end with no break. Really wears a person down.

    Instead of working 100 hours yourself, you can train people & build a team to outsource your work. That's why we hire people. Be productive. Work is a necessity, not a goal.
