Thanks for the video. It’s very helpful. I appreciate when an individual goes to the lengths of filming, repairing, and describing everything all with just a phone. 👍
I just watched about a half dozen "dishwasher doesn't heat" DIY videos and yours was the most succinct, straight forward "how to change out the flood switch" of them all. If I'd seen your vid first I wouldn't have wasted so much time on the others. Good job!
This was the first video that popped up for me. I did exactly what you said/did and it worked perfectly. Part was $22 and it took about 20 minutes to do.Thank you🙏
My dishwasher wasn't drying so I tried a few things suggested by other TH-cam videos but it didn't work. I changed the flood switch following this video and it worked!!!!!!! Thank you for a great, well explained video. After watching this, I changed it without a problem. It was very easy.
I’m so mechanically inept that when I buy a screwdriver at the hardware store, I have to sign a liability waiver, but your video was so clear that I actually repaired my dishwasher. Thank you thank you thank you! 4:21
Thanks for the video! GE wasn’t drying changed the heating element and still didn’t work was on the verge of buying a new one came across your video and it fixed my issue. Took maybe 5 mins to take out and replace part! Much appreciated and very helpful!!
Great video covering all the steps. I did find the spinner washing arm very easy to remove. A slight turn on the disk under the arm and the spinner lifts out. Forgot to unplug the unit and I don't remember double checking the o-ring was on the new part; though pretty sure it was as had no leftover o-rings. Will find out when I run the first load of dishes. Noticed one of the metal contact pins was slightly bent on the new part. Used a screwdriver to straighten it. Thanks for your video.
I pulled out the part and tried cleaning it. I was able to “unstick” the float inside of the part and cleaned out a fair amount of gunk. I was sure it would work but to no avail. Bought the part new and wah lah! It’s back to working normally.
The thermistor inside of it actually controls the drying, also the TCO on the bottom right of the tub on the outside. Appliance repair replaced the main board at their expense, I spent a couple of bucks and did just this. Everything 100% including water temp boost, sanitize, and heated drying. Thanks Brazil!
sometimes the motor can have hair or something are the blade or agitator. I’d pull the dishwasher out and check the motor I’ve seen that happen but it could be anything?
Thank you for the informative video. I did change the flood switch and it worked. However, after working normally for a few days, my dishwasher stop draining again...Not sure what happened. Does anyone have te same problem?
Dude thanks I'm going to try this. I already changed the heating element and that didn't help. But this part you replaced is called a flood switch right??
@@nadinewagner550 Can you double side a piece of duct tape to a hanger and reach into the hole and snag it? Try taking pictures with your camera to see where it may be. Good luck.
Good question. As we learn different things about appliances we learn that faulty parts can affect the dishwashers functionality. The flood switch determines certain levels and loads. A malfunctioning flood switch can make a dishwasher think that it's still filled with water thus not alloing the drying element to turn on
of course there are many reasons... main board, heating element, flood switch, vent valve, but a few people posting here replaced the heating element first and then their flood switch and it fixed it.

My ge dishwasher is not cleaning dishes. Have cleaned both filters and ran it with vinegar. Is there a sump that I can clean?

What is the unit call (in side the filter) ?
Float switch
Do forget to put a paper towel into the hole before removing the screws.
I just dropped mine, I found this video thank God. What exactly is that thing? It’s half apart now, so now what do I do about the screw that fell?

My husband replace the switch but now I have water inside that circle I don’t know what you call that lol

Is there someway to test to see if it’s good or bad or just have to replace it
ohm the prongs

And did you test the flood switch after you verified heating element and heat switch were good?

W R O N G !!! There are many other reasons why it may not dry
ok 👍🏽 if you’ve found the answer that’s always good
