    Bought a renovated home and thought I had to buy a new dishwasher as well. It smelled awful and did not heat dry. I did some research and found your video. Thanks for explaining every step and the closeup shots. I did the repair myself and I feel so proud! I am not a “Do-It-Yourself-er”. You saved me hundreds of dollars from having to buy a new dishwasher! Thanks for your generosity. Thanks for taking the time to create this video. Literally a life changer.

    O M G this freaking worked. I can NOT believe it . I am dancing around my house. All the search info went to a bad heating element. There was nothing during my first few searches that discussed this little secret. But after searching for like the 7th time, i found this. Thank you Thank YOU. Bought the part on Amazon- got the one listed prime that was cheaper than all the others and it was an ACTUAL GE PART. Thank goodness for the magnetic hex wrench and i taped that little side hole. I did let the plug thingie slip thru the hole by accident and after cursing alot i got out the spackle gun and used the long L bracket on it to find the piece and pull it back up. I then taped it to the hole until i was ready to put the new part in. I also taped the side hole so i wouldn't lose the screws. What an empowering feeling. Truly thank you.

    I am 67 years old and thanks to watching your video I gained the confidence I needed to repair my dishwasher. Knowing the tools I would need was very helpful and having a magnetic screwdriver with hex adapter was great advice. The close-up shots of each step along the way made it very helpful and easy to follow.

    I replaced the Float. Thanks for the help. It works perfect now. Float was full of MOLD, so the switch was stuck.

    Hey, I am 80 & just did the repair plus a lot of clean up inside the dishwasher. Just a comment, rather than old rags or paper towels to soop up the water I used a sponge. Worked out well. Great video, very informative with the step by step instructions. Excellent!!!

    Thank you for your knowledge and generosity! You saved me hundreds of dollars instead I spent $70 total- $40 for the part, $20 for expedited shipping, & $10 for a hexhead screwdriver

    Wow, one of three choices to why I’m not getting water in the dishwasher. And this was the easiest of the three to try first and darn sure it worked.! Thank you for your in-depth installation instructions.

    Thank you for this video! Our dishwasher was not heating and had a funky smell. I ordered the part from Amazon for $37 and it took me 10 minutes to swap it out. The Dishwasher is working like new now.

    at 71y/o this was a challenge. Thanks, it took me almost all day since I had to go to home depot for tools, etc. Even then some things didn't work as described. I hate tight spaces, so this was a real challenge. I might call a service person next time..

    Thanks so much for this! My dishwasher was driving me insane. Everything was soaking wet after a cycle. Followed this video and swapped out the Flood Switch, ran a cycle, and everything was bone dry again.

    Great video. I replaced my switch and now have steam again when I open the dishwasher. My switch appears to have been stuck due to not cleaning the filter. I encourage everyone to clean the filter regularly.

      With mine, the dishes weren't completely dry, and didn't come out hot. No steam would come out of the dish washer

      Good ones rattle, ball float inside must be free to float, bad ones don’t. Replacing this part fixed mine too.

    I started the repair but when I got to 2:00 found this whole sump area full of water. That's not right, is it? What does that mean?

    We opened up the area as shown in the video and there is no flood switch. Do newer dishwashers not have them?

    Hello, thank you for taking the time to make these videos, do you know if there is a way that I can test the part to know that it’s faulty?? Can this be done by testing the pins with an ohm meter. I don’t know which wires to test, the harness for this part that has one orange wire, one red wire, one blue wire, and one white wire… I’m going to go ahead and replace it, I’m a technician for an apartment community and I would like to test Parts to prove their bad if I can , thank you for any advice or help with this, thanks again I really enjoy all of your videos, and I learned a lot from them

    • @Susan70003

      Did you try turning your circuit breaker off for a few minutes and then turning it back on? Did you find the reason for not draining?

  • @Jenura01
    @Jenura01 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Just curious, and this is a serious question: what should you do if that harness goes back down into the hole? What would I need to disassemble next? I am about to do this right now, so I thought I would pose the question for possibly myself and others. Also-THANK YOU for the info about the 1/4 inch extender.

      You can reach underneath and push it back through.

      I also thought it will drop. I tied the wire harness with a thin rope before disconnecting it. Even if it drops, i can fish it back out. Wow, this video helped.

    Hello. Don't really expect a reply but it is worth a shot. If the float is bad, will it cut power to the user interface? I have good power to the lower board (green LED is flashing fast) and I have 13.8V at the pins going to the upper door control panel but I have no power on that upper panel at all. I've tried all resets known to man. Trying to avoid buying panels I don't need if the float switch could be the issue. thanks

    how did you get the water out of there?

    • @spartacus5380
      @spartacus5380 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I think water isn't supposed to be in there (it is supposed to drain out), but if things are clogged, you can use a rag to soak up the water and squeeze it out into a bowl.

    The fine filter cap in my dishwasher broke off. 😡
    Edit to add.. after forcefully unscrewing my filter it looked like it was covered in concrete. We have hard water.. 7 years of never cleaning it out🤢 I didn't know!
