Great video. Very accurate and informative. The level of detail is unmatched ! I only wish that I saw this one first as I ripped out the dishwasher thinking that I needed to replace the heating element. My thermistor was bad, and because of that, the float was gunked up. Can't give it enough thumbs up! 👍👍👍
Great video! So many videos show how to replace these... but what if you want to know if the part is actually broken first??? Your video is the answer. Thank you! For me, pins 1 and 7 were open circuit no matter where the float ball was so I knew it was bad thanks to you.
Hi Dave, nice to hear from you! And hoping that you and your family are doing well. With all modern appliances such as stoves, washers, dryers, refrigerators which usually all have some type of microcontroller, these items can all help in identifying a problem. Usually, a blinking LED with some specific counts will indicate a specific problem or there may be a numeric LED which would indicate a problem. With some of these appliances, one can enter a consumer error mode or a diagnostic error mode which is intended for a technician. On this model and other GE dishwasher models, it has both of these modes. Great question and have a SUPER GREAT DAY!
I had similar problems with a seamins DW. The next earlier model had a recall for setting fire to the countertop 😮😮😮. I also found the same problem with mine... An overworked relay that boosts temp of inlet water due to subpar temp of same... Hard to miss the burned out relay😅😅😅😅😅
The older appliances were much better in longevity and were much better machines. And that's why the wife and I are still using a washer and dryer that's about 25 years old. Thanks for the comment!

Mighty fine troubleshooting, Terry! Do these modern units have diagnostic codes that you can use to identify the problem area?
Not sure about dishwashers but our Samsung washing machine has a two page list of trouble codes which would be displayed on the digital readout.
