Hi Hayden - I really enjoy your TH-cam Channel, very well edited and well put together and your commentary is not overbearing and on point. I I think you just started the channel within the last year or so, keep up the good work. I also see you post often on FishBrain and I follow you there as well. I especially like what I think you are trying to accomplish, and that is to catch Cutthroat in their native environments. As the Milan Miller quote goes, “Trout don’t live in Ugly places” , I am sure this pursuit you have will lead you to some incredible adventures and places, as your content has shown so far. I am also a Fly Fisherman that lives in Oregon that has a similar task in trying to catch as many species as possible on the Fly, including all of the different types of Cutthroat Subspecies. I am at 21 species so far, including 7 different type of Cutthroat. I am just wondering if you have any plans to come out to the PNW and get your self a Sea-Run Cutthroat, Coastal Cutthroat, a Crescenti Cutthroat, and a Lahanton Cutthroat, even though I think you have Lanhanton’s near you. Anyway, just wanted to see if you needed some help and on these Cutthroat. Let me know and I can try to help where I can.
Thanks for the positive words! Glad you enjoy the videos, and yes I just love chasing these native cutthroat, and would love to explore other states in order to find their local species 😁 sounds like you need to do the Western Native Trout Challenge with how many fish you’ve caught on the fly! Hope to catch some of those species you mean to ones, haven’t had the chance to get, and I had never heard about Creacenti cutthroat until now!
Great video! This has really opened my eyes to exploring all the small streams I never thought to fish before!

Rio Grand or possibly San Juan Cutthroat?
@@EvilBlonde1 these guys are Colorado River cutthroat!
What weight rod and line are you using on these tiny creeks?
I was using a 6.5 ft 4wt rod with a 3wt fly line. It’s a really nice combo that works for me on these smaller creeks!
