  • This is the last chili recipe you'll ever need. It's so easy to make and comes out AMAZING. Cooking the meat over the top and adding beer is key! Full recipe below:
    INGREDIENTS
1.5 lbs Ground Beef Chuck 80%/20% blend
    3 links Hot Italian sausage
    1 Yellow onion
    1 Red bell pepper
    1 can Samual Adams beer
    2 tbsp Cumin
    2 tbsp Chili powder
    1 tbsp Olive oil
    1 tbsp Salt
    1 tbsp Pepper
    1/2 tbsp Cayenne pepper
    15 oz Tomato sauce
15 oz Diced tomatoes with green chili
    6 oz Tomato paste
    15.5 oz Kidney beans
    15.5 oz Pinto beans
    INSTRUCTIONS
    1. Dice up the onion and a red bell pepper.
    2. In a small container, add the seasonings: cumin, chili powder, cayenne pepper, salt, pepper.
    3. In a dutch oven add the diced onion, bell pepper, tomato sauce, tomato paste, diced tomatoes with green chili, beer and half of the season mix. Mix together.
    4. Separately, mix ground beef chuck (80%/20%mix) with 3 hot Italian sausage links. Remove the casing from the sausage.
    5. Add the remaining half of the mixed seasoning to the ground beef mixture and mix it into the meat.
    6. Form the beef mixture into a round flat patty and place it on a wire rack above the dutch oven.
    7. Set up the grill for indirect heat at 250 degrees.
    8. Smoke for 2 hours.
    9. Remove the wire rack from the grill and crumble up the beef. Place the crumbles into the chili along with pinto and kidney beans and continue to cook for about an hour or until the beans are soft.
    10. Serve with your favorite toppings and enjoy!
    Thanks for watching!

I’ve always been VERY snobby about my chili an how I make it, and I absolutely love the recipe I’ve perfected” over the years, but I always like to try different ones when I think they look good or interesting. I have to admit, I just finished a bowl of this ⬆️ after doing it on the egg in a Dutch oven, exactly as you did in your video…. And my wife and I are so pleasantly surprised! It’s easily our new favorite chili and I’ll be doing it this way from now on! The beer flavor with the smokiness from the seasoned meat is out of this world! I absolutely love the consistency of the ground chuck/Italian sausage blend because it holds together so much nicer when it cooks as a large patty before being broken up. I mean, this chili is really next-level and a great surprise! I’m so glad I gave it a try.

We have a gluten allergy in our house. Is it possible to just leave the beer out or is there something else that can be substituted?

Interesting take on making chili. I have never made chili before. Do you have any advice for making chili I need to know?

Adjust spices based on your heat preference.

Is there a replacement for the beer or is that a main part of it? Just wondering thanks

Maybe try 2 cups of water and 2 tablespoons of better than bouillon (beef or smoky chipotle).

Is there a substitute for the beer?

Just skip that ingredient all together and do no replace it with anything else

I’ve seen this method before in other youtube videos and I still can’t figure out why this is better than just frying up the meat and cooking it with the rest of the ingredients. If you don’t drain the grease it’s basically the same outcome.

You won't get the smokey flavor in the meat if you were to just drop it in the liquid. Also the grease droppings give a much stronger flavor than just dumping everything in at once.
