Just wanted to say that I used this recipe with a few personal touches and won 1st place at my works chili cook-off 🏆 the chipotle’s in adobo was groundbreaking
Just made this last night and I don’t think I’ll ever make it another way! Only thing that was different was I used regular instead of smoked paprika because I realize after getting back from the store that I ran out🤦🏼♀️ either way it’s a banger in my household! My husband and sister were raving about it. Thanks!!
I love your channel and this whole time I’ve been thinking you were Black until my sister told me that you weren’t. I know Black men that look like you so I didn’t know lol!
Here in El Paso, TX Home of authentic Mexican food) we use canned Ranch Style Pinto Beans including the delicious sauce from the can instead of kidney beans.
That's the craziest chili recipe I've ever seen. 😮 Coco powder, brown sugar, honey, chipotle in adobo sauce. I gotta try this!!! Gonna follow it to a T Matt.
I've NEVER seen it prepared this way. I'm from Louisville, Ky., we use a chili base here called "Bloomers," it makes chili amazing!!! I'm gonna definitely try it this way and add the Bloomers! Betcha I'll win the chili cook off this year! 😋 😅❤❤❤❤
I just finished this chili recipe, with one substitute. Instead of ground pork I used sweet Italian sausage. OMG!!! This will now be the ONLY recipe I use. Thank you for this. Delicious!!
You can use ground turkey too. Whatever meat you want to use. It's your chilly and no one can tell you different. There is no rule in cooking or how you want to put in it. Have fun with it.❤
I made this recipe less the cocoa powder. Added 3 stalks of celery and used ground turkey. I was hesitant on the tomato soup but to my delight this recipe was delicious with a side of corn bread ❤❤ Thank you for sharing. You’re the best MrMakeItHappen.
I’ll be trying this chili this Autumn 🍂, I love a delicious chili. Cilantro along with sour cream and cheddar cheese are good toppings for me. Fritos Scoops are a nice addition as well.
I LOVE your chili. I tested out your recipe and it came out amazing. I did add MeSaCa to thicken it up. My husband loves "fork" chili; by adding a thickener it made the dish a creamer. It definitely didn't take away from the flavor.
❤❤❤Kudos to you! I made this yesterday night and brooo!! It was sooo freaking good. I was timid about adding that cocoa to it but I am so glad I did!! I made a huge pot of it too, and it didn't even stand a chance. It was gone🎉🎉❤❤ Thank you!😊
You've really come a long way. I remember your videos used to make me kind of get motion sickness. But now they're smooth and clean. And I must add that your content and your recipes themselves have always been fantastic. But your presentation is pristine. Good job man
This looks amazing! I make chili very similar but I use shredded beef cooked in the Instant pot prior for 40 minutes with an Ancho dried chili (Poblano pepper) and about 1/8 cup of beef broth. The flavor is amazing 🎉 Love your videos! Where’s the raw onion on top? 😮 I’ve never tried cocoa powder.. I’m trying it this week
Guinness instead of Modelo, chick peas instead of beans, poblano instead of jalapeño, and sweet italian sausage with ground beef instead of pork. I do not add cocoa or cinnamon but I’m also not a fan of mole. I use a variation of ground peppers including ancho chili. Will have to try adding tomato soup! Avocados as an additional topping is also perfect!
Can confirm it was the best chilli, even with my too much button kicking in with the cocoa powder and cinnamon, still really good!!! Give it a go if you havent already
A great addition is a simple cornbread recipe. 1 box of jiffy cornbread and a jar of queso dip from the chip aisle. Cook it according to the box and it’s amazing!!
Per usual this was a HIT with my guys!!! Soo good I made it twice in one week!! Left out the beer and sweets and it was sooo yummy!!! You don’t miss!! Thanks soo much!!
Tropical Depression Ophelia, this chili and football! On the agenda today! Celebrating much needed rain and cooler weather, keeping in mind those who were affected with flooding from this storm.
I call this my Make It Happen Chili. Can't give up all my secrets but I don't wanna steal credit. I do it as a chili mac. It's similar to cinci chili so it goes well with the noodles. Only other thing I changed was I put a cup of water with the beef bullion and blended it with the chipotles because just the chipotles weren't enough to get caught up in my blender. The raw jalapenos as a garnish put it over the top.
I’m having a chili cook off at my crib for my bday in February. I’m following your recipe for mine lol. I live in Chesapeake. You’re invited. Come thru 💯
Wow this looks tasty. I’ve never seen it made with coco powder. Side note, I know this batch of chili was hella spicy bc of those chipotle peppers 🌶️😩, I love spice but those are a different level of spicy imo… or maybe I’m just a light weight 😆😊
Yeah girl, I made his short rib chili last year and followed the recipe. Them chipotle peppers were too hot for me as well. My family loved it, but it was also too spicy for us to enjoy imo.😬
For my spices I do Mexican chilies, cumin and Mexican oregano. I also add Mexican Chocolate which has cinnamon in it. I also do light and dark red beans and black beans. A mix of pork and beef as well. I am in the south so we serve with Fritos corn chips, cheese and sour cream and extra jalapeños. Love your videos!!
This is slammin, but the Chilli recipe in the new collaborative cook book is the only Chilli to make. Thabks for updating this already delicious Chilli
My husband prefers his over jasmine rice topped with sour cream and shredded cheese, side of cornbread. I like mine with green onion shredded cheese and fritos or scoops.
Looks Delicious😊You Can’t Go Wrong With A Great Chili On A Cool Fall-Rainy Day😊Be Great With Some Lightly Toasted Buttered Sour Dough Bread😊Thanks For Sharing❤
I roast my onion and garlic and put them in a blender with the beans, add some beef stock and blend. I prefer the meaty texture over lumpy. Much of the rest of the recipe is typical except for a few secrets LOL. And as always " the next day is the best day" to eat chilli...
Look so , delicious ! I love chili especially for the fall season and will definitely be adding that tomato soup to my next chili I make! Could you also, do a vegetarian recipe!
Just wanted to say that I used this recipe with a few personal touches and won 1st place at my works chili cook-off 🏆 the chipotle’s in adobo was groundbreaking
This is the reason I’m here lol I’ve never made chili and we have a work cook off for it in two months
With my touches I got 3rd in a chili cookoff. 2nd place was meh! The winner that time deserved it with a weird but delicious curry chili!
Just made this last night and I don’t think I’ll ever make it another way! Only thing that was different was I used regular instead of smoked paprika because I realize after getting back from the store that I ran out🤦🏼♀️ either way it’s a banger in my household! My husband and sister were raving about it. Thanks!!
Good to hear someone in the comments tried it! I bought everything yesterday to make it tomorrow!! So excited!!
I love your humor and commentary. Your recipes are amazing. Thanks for your hard work.
Thank you
I love your channel and this whole time I’ve been thinking you were Black until my sister told me that you weren’t. I know Black men that look like you so I didn’t know lol!
@atlsongbyrd6084 interesting comment lol ....
How did you think he was black? You can clearly see he’s white in the videos.

I just finished this chili recipe, with one substitute. Instead of ground pork I used sweet Italian sausage. OMG!!! This will now be the ONLY recipe I use. Thank you for this. Delicious!!
Glad I saw your comment bc I was wondering if Italian sausage would be good in chili
Did you taste the cinnamon or coco powder in the finished product?
No I didn't. It just blends nicely.
You can use ground turkey too. Whatever meat you want to use. It's your chilly and no one can tell you different. There is no rule in cooking or how you want to put in it. Have fun with it.❤
I just saw a recipe that used spicy sausage too. This is my next mod
I made this recipe less the cocoa powder. Added 3 stalks of celery and used ground turkey. I was hesitant on the tomato soup but to my delight this recipe was delicious with a side of corn bread ❤❤ Thank you for sharing. You’re the best MrMakeItHappen.
This cannot possibly be as good as your boneless beef short rib chili recipe, can it? I made that and it was amazing!
I’ll be trying this chili this Autumn 🍂, I love a delicious chili. Cilantro along with sour cream and cheddar cheese are good toppings for me. Fritos Scoops are a nice addition as well.
Thank you
@@MrMakeItHappen You’re welcome and I will let you know how it turns out 😀
I like to put my chilli over white rice absolutely delicious
I LOVE your chili. I tested out your recipe and it came out amazing. I did add MeSaCa to thicken it up. My husband loves "fork" chili; by adding a thickener it made the dish a creamer. It definitely didn't take away from the flavor.
Another addition that adds a great flavor is some strong coffee 👍
❤❤❤Kudos to you! I made this yesterday night and brooo!! It was sooo freaking good. I was timid about adding that cocoa to it but I am so glad I did!! I made a huge pot of it too, and it didn't even stand a chance. It was gone🎉🎉❤❤ Thank you!😊
It looks so rich and delicious 😋 Yummy 😋

lol good. I eat mine with scoops and pico or salsa. Those crispy fried onions are a great idea..

Gonna try it! 👍 sure it’s gonna taste delicious! All of your recipes have been the bomb 💣 😄
This looks amazing! I make chili very similar but I use shredded beef cooked in the Instant pot prior for 40 minutes with an Ancho dried chili (Poblano pepper) and about 1/8 cup of beef broth. The flavor is amazing 🎉

O. M. G. Did this recipe twice now! AMAZING! ABSOLUTELY THE BEST! Mr make it happen is a G!
I haven't made a single recipe of yours that wasn't fire. I cannot wait to make this!
I have to try this 😮I love Chilli ❤

Love ❤️ Chill Recipe
Delicious seasoning tasting ingredients. Great for fall weather 🍁
Thank You 🙏🏽
No beans but delicious 😋crackers, jalapeños, sharp, sour cream and cheese. Yum
Can confirm it was the best chilli, even with my too much button kicking in with the cocoa powder and cinnamon, still really good!!! Give it a go if you havent already
I’m boring I just like to top my chili with some original frito lays corn chips. Love how it tastes when the sauce from the chili softens the chips 😋
So there, take that you “no bean” chili cooks. Beans are delicious. This is a must try but I’ll probably cut back a little on the heat! YUM!
A great addition is a simple cornbread recipe. 1 box of jiffy cornbread and a jar of queso dip from the chip aisle. Cook it according to the box and it’s amazing!!
I’m confused. Are you cooking the queso with the cornbread mix?
Cinnamon is so delicious in chilli and I can’t wait to try the cocoa and tomato 🍅 soup. Thank you 😊
You know this FREAKN chilli looks so good. All I need is a side of cornbread.👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Per usual this was a HIT with my guys!!! Soo good I made it twice in one week!! Left out the beer and sweets and it was sooo yummy!!! You don’t miss!! Thanks soo much!!
Money shot!!! Looking good - yum yum....love your videos!! Thanks for the how to videos....I love honey cornbread on the side....
Now I think that Chilli should be in a contest looking good... now I'm a Chilli person and thought I make one of the best but I think you did that ...
MY FAV IS CORNBREAD WITH CHILLI
🙌🏼
Not sure what the cocoa powder does, but I will try it😋
It’s common in Mexican mole and other recipes
It adds complexity. You don't notice a taste of chocolate, and it's not sweet. But it does add flavor.
Tropical Depression Ophelia, this chili and football! On the agenda today! Celebrating much needed rain and cooler weather, keeping in mind those who were affected with flooding from this storm.
This is great chili. I didn't have any pork, so I used hot Italian sausage. Honey with jalapeno. (I did not add any jalapenos). SO GOOD!
Definitely trying this soon. You make cooking seem easy
That’s what it’s all about
This really does look delicious. I can’t get behind the cocoa powder yet but I feel you
It's a game changer for sure
One recommendation would be to use the beef stock to rinse out the blender and cans to get everything out. I’m going to definitely try this one! 🙏👏👍🇺🇸
Molasses works also, as a mild sweetener.
I call this my Make It Happen Chili. Can't give up all my secrets but I don't wanna steal credit.

@Mr.Makeithappen Congratulations on your 1 million in advance 🎉🎉🎉🎉 well deserved
Congrats on the 1Mil subscribers! Ive been here for a while now!
I like to use red kidney beans, white canelli beans & black beans. It gives it more color & a little different flavor.
Going to make this on Sunday, getting a Dutch oven tomorrow. Thanks for the recipe!
I like corn in mines , I make fresh fried chicken and corn bread with minxes . It give it a whole vibe
Wow this looks tasty. I’ve never seen it made with coco powder. Side note, I know this batch of chili was hella spicy bc of those chipotle peppers 🌶️😩, I love spice but those are a different level of spicy imo… or maybe I’m just a light weight 😆😊
Cocoa powder is a MUST
Yeah girl, I made his short rib chili last year and followed the recipe. Them chipotle peppers were too hot for me as well. My family loved it, but it was also too spicy for us to enjoy imo.😬
Maybe just try a little of the liquid in the can

Thank you
@MrMakeItHappen and OMG, I love the comments, you always have me laughing!!!
Diced avocado to add with those toppings. Trust me. Old Navy retail store had a food counter back in the 90's
I use chipotles in adobo also! Thought that was my secret ingredient 😂😂Good stuff
I substituted with hot Mexican chili power. I added some Mexican oregano..and cayenne. It's a 10.
THIS RIGHT HERE...IS THE ULTIMATE CHILI RECIPE💯💯💯✊🏽💃🏽
This is slammin, but the Chilli recipe in the new collaborative cook book is the only Chilli to make. Thabks for updating this already delicious Chilli
You always make me go purchase a lot of ingredients. I be trying to spend $5😂 I’ll be making this tomorrow.
My husband prefers his over jasmine rice topped with sour cream and shredded cheese, side of cornbread. I like mine with green onion shredded cheese and fritos or scoops.
Looks good, can i omit the beans?
Gotta try it on some pasta noodles still doctored up the same way you like your chili. I prefer angel hair pasta. Delicious.
😂 "one night stand for those afraid of commitment". Hilarious
MSG all the way baby! Who would ever complain about that?
I need to save this video. I love the ingredients in it.
Looks Delicious😊You Can’t Go Wrong With A Great Chili On A Cool Fall-Rainy Day😊Be Great With Some Lightly Toasted Buttered Sour Dough Bread😊Thanks For Sharing❤
Dark chocolate is good in it from the UK
Mm,Mm 👍 I like all that you mentioned with my chili. Next time I prepare chili, I shall use cinnamon. That's real 🔜
Definitely going to give this a try.
Chunks of raw onion, red or yellow something that will give you a snap with a good sharp flavour
This my second recipe from you! I made it today and I love it. I made you’re birria tacos
I roast my onion and garlic and put them in a blender with the beans, add some beef stock and blend. I prefer the meaty texture over lumpy. Much of the rest of the recipe is typical except for a few secrets LOL. And as always " the next day is the best day" to eat chilli...
I like making a white chili with ground turkey! It is the bomb!! You can eat it with tortilla chips or cornbread!!
Beef and venison is awesome also. ❤️

Crazy but I always have a peanut butter sandwich with my chili!!! The sweet with the spice of the chili is chefs kiss!!! 🤤
Hmmm. Interesting. Gonna try.
Wow. I thought I was the only one with the peanut butter sandwich😁.
Looking good looking good.
Mr. Make It Happen... question ❓... would
the Beef & Pork cook equally at the same timeframe 🤤.
Hey! Keep it up bro! Could you possibly do a lumpia recipe video?
I use spicy v-8 instead of tomato soup
Sourdough or French bread
I boil some macaroni. So if you want chili mac, you can make it.
Looks amazing! Any recommendations for the chipotles if you don’t have a blender?
