This engine trips me out. Sometimes everything runs fine and I have no issues. Other times, I feel like the engine is making weird sounds, or the vibrations is more noticeable than usual. This only happens when im idling. Maybe I'm just paranoid. It's a 2016 with 76k+ kilometres on a stage 1 tune.
2016 frs full stock, same here. I'm always paranoid, but I'm barely at 54K miles. The car sat for a while cause I worked from home for like 5 years so it was just a weekend car/grocery getter for a majority of its life. Always kept up with the service except the last one I let it go past by like 500ish miles.
I use 93 octane Pure non-ethanol gasoline and the chirp is no longer there. Not sure how accessible non-ethanol gasoline is for everyone but if you can find it try it.
vincent tam I work at a Toyota I believe depending on the advisor that helps you and the tech that works on it can get it done, if you keep bugging them I’m sure they will do it I was not an advisor at the time but I am now so that’s why I’m saying depending on the advisor they would do it and like I said in the video as long as it’s under mileage range and year they can do it
It's on my new 2022 BRZ Limited 6MT, after about the first 500 miles I started to notice a high pitched chirp at idle speed while the car's in neutral, and it only starts after the car is fully warmed up and driven several miles. I plan on making a video and taking it back to the dealership to see what they say but I'm glad I at least know what it is.
Hey chirp is gone.... but the idle still goes up and down from 900 to 500 rpm.... I have found that the internal tank fuel pump is a problem as well.???? Do you know anything about this issue? Tones of TH-cam videos showing the same issue? Thx Jason and Jennifer
sound doesnt seem to be there for me when i run 93 ocatane. so thats what i have been doing and no sound. 93 octane from wawa if you are on the east coast
I tried this already. I have a 2017 with the chirps too. Dealership says they're now a feature of the 2017+. At least, that's what my Subaru dealer says.
I remember taking mine to the dealership and they fixed mine but it does still chirp just a little bit but now I’m having this knocking sound in my engine but they are saying it’s normal lol
I want thank people in the comments for telling me about the ethanol gasoline making the noise. I always used non ethanol and was forced to use it once on a long trip. The noise came from it almost instantly and once I switched back to non ethanol yesterday the noise has gone away so far. I will update this comment if the noise returns.
@@elijahfatutoa9803 it will go away. I never replied to this comment but it went away after the weather got a bit warmer. Also some times it could just be bad fuel quality. Just pay attention to your driving and how it sounds. You should be fine.
Cryptical Phoenix No I started using ethanol free gas and its stopped. It was really loud but after one tank it went away. Now every other tank I get ethanol free and it hasn’t come back in 2 months.
@@loganbb9188 Thank you! I found one and filled up twice and the sound is gone! though it's only 91 octane and like $1 more than the 93 octane I was getting lol but good thing the tank is small so it's not that expensive :D
Just get louder exhaust
Rick Parker haha no kidding man
I was really upset about hearing this noise but now I am comforted by the fact that it happens to other people😌😕

LandBruiser I had the chirp go away out of nowhere and I never made the connection that it might have been because I started using 93 haha
They didn’t change mine, they said it wasn’t loud enough.

What if it’s a clicking noise when I cut the wheel like to the far right or left
That sounds more like cv joints

RyanFrs86 that’s crazy I’m pretty sure a knocking noise from the engine isn’t normal haha
Dude I’m having chirping and knocking sounds, my tuner said that the HPFP would make that so more investigative work coming up
Would it still happen with an after market fuel pump and tensioner
My 2017 is doing it and i have 34000 miles on it.
Kinda wish I heard the chirp noise In the video so I can know what it looks like.

Temporary fix. Crickets will come back
Mike Harding could be. Mine is still not making the noise again
Rip Rocket yep, mine came back after 4-5 months. But I'm sure the e85 doesn't help lol. I don't really care anymore, my exhaust note overpowers it!
How about now ?
