    Used engine restorer 4 cylinders on my 2015 Scion FRS and I now have around 6 check engine codes. Cars at 82,200 miles and it says on the can use on any car over 50k...also put in a bottle of STP gas after a trip the gas station. Codes with the same oil I used the restorer on: P0420, P0014, P0014, P000B, P000D, P00014 Codes AFTER I changed the oil(because I changed the oil around 15 miles after): P0420, P0014, P000B, P000B, P000D, P0014, P000B. A month or 2 ago the car was at stage 1 with the OPENFLASHTABLET then stage 3+ with flex fuel(without flex fuel kit). Flashed it back to original ECU/file and sold the OpenFlashTablet. Some miles later it gave a transmission code cel problem then it fixed itself....then a catalytic converter o2 problem...let the car idle for 30 minutes rev'd it a bit then fixed itself......now this..help pls ty

    • @FilmMonger
      @FilmMonger 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Musicizmyremedy This will depend on your tires. Many have tread patterns that are meant to rotate in only one direction, so switching sides will make them spin in the opposite direction, possibly providing less grip and water dispersion, so it can get very dangerous in the wet.

    • @OpenHouse24
      @OpenHouse24 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Actually if they go on the wrong way they will trap water under the wheels instead of dispersing it, making it dangerous. The tires that came on my 17 BRZ are not directional but the Yokohama advan I run do. They have a rotational direction arrow right on the wall of the tire.

    • @FilmMonger

    I got my FRS almost a week after this videos release, first time ever driving stick, anyone have any pointers on when I should be shifting gears, I’ve been primarily basing off engine noise and mph, I know it should be based mainly on RPM vs MPH I’ve been doing all 3 but I’ve been shifting out of first and into 2nd once I get rolling. Someone suggested to change gears every 3k rpm, but that sounds so high to me, the engine sounds very high pitched compared to driving 2k rpm which is normally when I shift.

    • @MR2guy427

      gratz on learning man its a really fun lost art
      as an ae86 owner whos driven manual for about 6 years now (also rented an ft86, im looking for one right now) you should shift at about 3-4k and try not to cruse below 2500. The reason for this is the fa20 feels boggy below that which is expected as its a high hp/l engine rather than a high torque engine so lower end materials are made to be lighter. Unfortunatly due to this design these components cant handle as much load as cars meant to have higher low end torque as the rods are a bit less beefy.

    • @chartreusenematoad9451
      @chartreusenematoad9451 6 ปีที่แล้ว +46

      Nope, no issues al all. It has been my daily driver and has been a great, reliable car. Just regular oil changes. I've put money into it, but that has just been for unnecessary aesthetic and performance upgrades. The next major service will be at the 60k mark ,and I plan to keep the car forever and hopefully put many many more miles on

      @smithsfan425 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Henry It was all stock EXCEPT for a Borla exhaust which isn’t obnoxious sounding so I’m probably keeping it. I’m not sure yet, because I also plan on buying back my first car from when I was in college from the person I sold it to (07 tC) for like a grand and turning it into an autocross car. That’s the car I’m gonna tinker with while I pay off the 86. Maybe in the future once it’s paid off and if the new Supra is any good I’ll make that my new daily and track this one someday.

    The hell. So I got the same cabin air filter, but I don’t know which way it should go. It says “flow” with an arrow pointing down, but the picture has it inserted flipped over. So does the arrow mean up or down? All the lettering when read right side up, the arrow points down (including “flow”). Should the lettering be upside down with the arrow pointing up or vice versa?

    Never replace automatic transmission fluid unless the trans starts slipping, even then new fluid will likely make the problem worse.This is why most modern automatics don't even have a dipstick and are sealed, because the fluid degrades as the clutches degrade and new fluid on old clutches will cause problems.

      It depends upon the tyres. Tyres with symmetrical tread pattern can be mounted on the rims of the other side. They only need to maintain the correct rolling direction

  • @kuromurasaki5273
    @kuromurasaki5273 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    NEVER buy K&N. It can let larger micron dust through, it is an oil based filter and it can over time cause issues with mass air flow sensors and gumming up bits of the intake. It also costs a lot more on top of the potential maintenance cost of cleaning the intake and MAF.

    you're telling everyone the wrong way to rotate the tires on our cars!!!! The correct way to rotate the tires is as follows; the back tires come straight up to the front, and the front tires cross over to the opposite side of the car as you rotate them to the rear!!! Its right in the owners manual
