Asus Tuf F15 (FX506HF-ES51) has Gen 3 slots (confirmed that with Asus tech on phone) so only get Gen 3 SSD for second port as saves money and if you get 4th gen it’s still only gonna give you what the Gen 3port can do. I use Crucial for my Ram and SSD. Have Crucial 32Gigs of Ram in one with extra Crucial 1TB SSD and in my second Asus laptop I have 64 gigs of ram and extra 1TB SSD. Crucial is reasonably priced, great specs, reliable

Will a 4th gen SSD work in 3rd gen slot, yes, but your NOT going to get the speed the 4th gen SSD touts, as the 3rd gen port will only go a certain speed. Silly Simple Example, 3rd gen slot has speed of 5, your 4th gen SSD has a speed of 10…..Your only gonna get speed 5 max. As opposed to a 3rd Gen SSD that has speed of 5. So you spent $50 on a 4th gen SSD, when you could have got the 3rd gen for $30 and compromised nothing. Don’t be daft
I'm very new to laptops that are specifically for gaming and have never upgraded anything in a laptop before, period. This video is super clear, concise and easy to follow, even for someone like me who's very much inexperienced with hardware! My one critique is maybe mix the audio a bit to lessen that drill sound. Or cut it out/speed it up
The screw for the second SSD slot was so tight from factory that I had to use pliers to turn it because the screw stripped my cheap screwdrivers, then my nice screw drivers started to strip the screw!
@@furypestono SSDs don't really heat up, plus thermal paste/tape is for moving heat from the component to a heat sink (like the copper pipes you can see in the video that go towards the fans), and the SSDs are just on top of the motherboard, also the original SSD didn't came with any paste either

If I watch correctly, when you place secondary ssd nvme and place the screw, there's connector cable stuck beneath the ssd. Is that okay? Will the cable burn because of the heat?
i havent used this one yet, but thats 99.99% a HDD slot. i can see the word printed HDD cable in the middle of the battery and M2 SSD. Also the ''metal-holder-whatever-it's-name-is'' is definetly for HDD

Ask your customer service. Usually they encourage to upgrade but when I asked my customer service about my second ssd slot they'll respond very vaguely. In my case, all they did was sent me back a tech sheet saying my upgradeable slot is pci4. It doesn't void warranty but any damages done to yourself or to the laptop don't fall into warranty so best to unplug your battery before doing any upgrades. For example, Any screws falling on the circuitry of the motherboard can short circuit and possibly damage it. That is irreversible damage

It seems that the notebook PC has two M.2 slots, but it is not possible to extract the original image from slot 1 and write the cloned OS image to slot 2 in the internal slot of the notebook PC? It has to be the same exact read speed as the drive that is already in there or it won’t show up what I did with mine when I bought it new was got 2 of the same exact ones and switched both out after making a flash drive a windows bootable device

They said i could only max out my RAM by replacing the 4Gb DDR4, 3200 MHz, Dual channel with an 8Gb to go with the 8Gb built-in for a total of 16Gb RAM. For my memory, I could max out at 1Tb type M.2 NVME. What happens if I go bigger with a 2 Tb or 4 Tb SSD and more RAM? Does it mean that the laptop motherboard will not be able to handle this? Could you please let me know what is a safe maximum spec for my upgade? Thanks!

Hi Simon, I have ROG Zephyrus Pro Duo GX551QS where it come with 2 isntalled SSD from ASUS and each of them is 1 TB, totally 2 TB. They indicated in one drive C OS is 2 TB. No other partition. So now I also have ROG Zephyrus Pro Duo GX650RX where it comes with onde drive 2TB. The another slot is still blank. Now I have upgade and istalled an additinal NVMe with 2 TB. So No How to amke the same thing with my GX550QS where the total of them shall be ine drive C OS with total 4TB indicated on C OS drive. Do you have any video ?
I don't have the video of what you are asking. I think you want to RAID your two 2tb ssd and turn it into 4tb. You need to setup in BIOS. Instead of using AHCI, setup as RAID. and go from there.

Yes its possible. I HAVE FX506H model and 8+16GB ddr4 3200mhz. Aida and cpuz detects dual channel 1600mhz so looks like full speed.

Don’t replace the main. It’s got enough storage and you will have to reinstall windows if you change it so it’s not really worth the hassle
