With the addition of controller support and Apple Arcade with IOS 13, its easier than ever to play your favorite iPhone iPad games on a big screen and this even works wait Fortnite and Minecraft! You can also turn your Android phone into a gaming console but you need to make sure your device supports HDMI Out. In this video, I’m using the iPhone 11 pro max but this will work on and IOS device running IOS 13 or Higher.

If you are using a TV, you need to change the picture profile to “Gaming” to dramatically reduce input lag. I use a 1ms monitor. I have no issues with input lag.

How does the input delay of the thunderbolt to HDMI adapter compare to screen mirroring using an Apple TV box or Roku device?

u can also use it on older ios versions besides ios 13 to pair ur xbox or ps4 controller at least if ur jail broken

When I tried this exact thing with my iPad Air 2, there was major lag (about half a second), making games unplayable. Is that something that apple just patched at some point?
Same here, I tried to play Stadia and GeForce Now games, but even games from the app store had horrible lag on the TV
Get a short 4k hdmi cord. A big problem with using the HDMI output from iPhones and iPads is the HDMI cord. If you try different chords you’ll notice different lag outcomes. I have yet to find a cord that makes it possible to play something like call of duty mobile however I’m on the hunt and moving very slow at just getting around to that.

You can do this with any Galaxy S8 and higher, or Samsung Tab S4/S6. It's a shame so many smartphones don't support HDMI out.

I tried a whole bunch of adapters last month trying this and they all had input delay so it wasn't a pleasant experience.

I bought a new lightning to HDMI adapter and I tried this but there is a lag and then the display just freeze it’s so annoying. I’m not sure if it’s the old 1.5m long HDMI cable from my PC I’m using maybe I should buy a new one? What kind of HDMI cable are you using.
I've been doing this with my Huawei Mate 20 Pro for the last year. It's great for native Android games, and emulation. Plus I could do the same on my old Sony Xperia Z3 Compact through MHL.

@@trying2b689 as long as you use a wired connection, you shouldn't notice any latency at all. I've since moved onto an Oppo Find X3 Pro, and using a Type C to HDMI adapter I've noticed no latency at all.

To be honest, it does beat Nintendo switch as with a phone you can slip it in your pocket
But switch has much better games and the Iphone 11 costs like 4x more than the switch and the switch is more powerfull

The Apple TV supports Apple Arcade games and controller pairing, but only if your Apple TV supports TVOS 13.

hey there! so i plugged my iphone from hdmi into my tv screen and it works perfectly, i can watch youtube in landscape mode, except i can’t play genshin impact. for some reason the screen won’t rotate, i checked the rotate lock and everything. please help!! i was so excited to get the hdmi for this specific game and it’s just not working :(

Get and Android device. Apple doesn't let you use retroarch on their devices and likely never will.

not sure if its just him forgetting to actually re-orient the phone in the clip but asphalt 9 looks fine (if you have rotation lock on and dont switch before-hand it might not detect as that side on display devices and some apps)
