@andrew well the guard army not as expensive as a custodes army. The guard will outnumber almost every other army in 40k

@@mattrosencranse9575 Tamiya clear red over the base retributor armor spray can. Little black on the edges faded in with the airbrush.
Then masked off and sprayed with good old Rust-Oleum clear gloss coat.

You want knights
Not too far off, you can get a decent ish custodes army for 500 bucks thats about 2000 points. Since its like 30 to 40 dudes max. 45 if you make it stretch.
@@Uniformtree000 think you can go much lower. if you buy the combat patrol three times, theres builds for a 2k point army just out of that, and thats without using spares you already have laying around or kitbashing, else you can probably even go below.

He could have condensed it a little more by removing some of the infantry for another achillus dread or even a telemon, he could also have stretched it out more by taking fewer or no bikes, and spamming SoS instead. This is pretty standard for 2000pts of stodes.
This is why I love Custodes.

Sounds about right. A thousand points in HH is 11 models. Being three hetaeron guard, 3 sentinel guard, 3 basic guard, a shield captain, and an Achillus. To get it up to 2k I'm looking at an assassin another dreadnought and 6 guys. It's silly. You get a little more in 40k but it's still absolutely silly.
Ahh but remember in HH the standard point size nowadays is 3k not 2k

Yeah I bought that Christmas box last year, and that alone had about 1.5K in it. In total I probably have 2K, and all I bought were that Christmas box and the Combat Patrol...
I'm still not very good with Custodes so I rarely use them. Very fun to paint though.

It’s how you use it that matters
Deceptively small. It can really pack a punch if you're not expecting it.
For an army of custodes it's quite large and considering how powerful they are a little goes a long way.

I recently brought a Spiritseer, a Wraithknight and two Wraithseer's to a 2000 point Custodes match. My 900 point army won by a point difference of two points, somehow. "Why only bring 900 points?" you ask? Because I deadass thought he'll bring 1000 points when I saw his "army" he sent me the day before.
Wow that's like 3 units
My gripe with tenth so far is that it messes up Astra Militarum mechanised infantry. To get the buffs off a command squad it now has to be attached (aura made much more sense for Regimental standards) to the infantry squad. But you can’t put a 15 man squad in a chimera or taurox. So if you have command squads, you have to have your guys on foot inching across the board to objectives. Yes you can dump the command squad and call the officer a castellan, but then you’re limited three. For the thirty seconds we had a ninth edition codex you could have one command squad reasonably look after two infantry squads and dump them all in transports for better mobility. Now we have ‘shock troops’ who are limited to a slow stroll.

That’s an awesome army really strong and has some amazing units in those jump packs as well as the dreadnought is going to be a big threat overall. I’m gonna be selling my army soon I believe it’s just the standard army nothing special like 2 squads of warriors, 2 squads of jet bikes, and 1 hq being the same you have here.
Next time I’m going Custodes. There are more models in my (what used to be known as) troops choices than in this whole army.

My first army was Tau, I didn't like em so I sold em. Then I got Astra Militarum and I thought they are really cool. Then I thought I needed some sort of chaos legion. Boom 600$ gone and black legion purchased. After that I really wanted some Space Marines because I couldn't ever beat my brothers powerful armies and I thought that would help. Now I have three armies and a lot of money gone 😭
