Audi a4 Quattro won't start no spark no power to fuse 28 29

  • Fuse 34 getting blown. Also no power on fuses 28 and 29 .car would crank but seemed like no fuel.checked for sparks no spark.

    Thank you for this video, I have this exact car in the shop for only 3 volts on fuse 28 and 29 and 1.5 volts on fuse 34! I will check the harness tomorrow!!!

    TY I think this may be my issue. I replaced the cracked shielding that covers those wires years ago so I thought they'd be fine, but the wires are probably still crumbling inside. I've done a ton of troubleshooting to try and find my voltage drop but it comes and goes randomly. Sometimes I get 0v on fuse 28 and on the others, sometimes I get 9-10v, now I'm getting 11v but the car still won't start.
    How can I check with my multimeter to verify if this is my problem?

    I have same prob on my jetta 1.8t i use a test light and get no power to some fuse slots and put new fuse in and doesnt light up take them out and connect the test light on the medal piece in the slot and no light how did you fix the prob and my checj engine light doesnt come on whem i turn the key right before the on posion

    did you change that on relay or was it just the coils that fixed the problem ? I guess the answer is yes.. You're one hell of a hard working through mechanic. I wish we were neighbors I would bugging you all the time and buying you 420 and beers.....

    when you replaced the connectors...did you use butt connectors for all 4 sets?

    I got power on 28 29 ones the is running... but no with the key at ready position...if I connected straight from the battery the pump run but no start until after couple tries....

    So in this case, the problem was the wiring harnesses to the coil packs? Is that right?

      I'm having the same problem don't know if that fixed it or not butit still won't start but it did fix another problem I was having with the file pump...

    Sorry for delay. Yes I fixed it car was running after this ..you can get this connection on ebay for cheaper. .

    I have a 2009 with no power, the key fob isn’t recognized and the hazards switch doesn’t work either. Also the high beams switch has no power any ideas would be helpful

      Does your car star? It could be that your key is not recognized and antitheft kicks in .any codes?

    I'm having the same problem with my 2004 Audi A4, I replaced the the wires for the coils same problem, it cranks no start, replace cam shaft and crank sensor . I have fuel pressure but no spark, relay 219 gets hot when cranking. What can be the problem?

      Is there a way to scan the car? Make sure you have .spark .gas .and compression..fuel injector pulse.

    i have the same problem just installed a new fuel pump and fuse 34 and 29 are not getting any power #34 gets power every now and then from when i press on the relay but 29 gets nothing. .

    hi can help me my fuel pump is working correctly but not sending fuel to th engine, no power to the fuse 28 THE pump work when you connect directly,my relay 167 is also good

    Hey I got a 04 Audi s4 4.2 v8 and the car was running good one day I was getting ready to go home from work and the car would turn over but not start I have no power to fuse 28 29 34 can it be the same thing any help would be greatly appreciated

    Please someone help..I have a 2003 audi a4 1.8 I went into walmart and did some shopping and came out and the car starts for 3seconds and dies. I had my dad put it on the computer and a evap code came up. We replaced the crankshaft sensor, spark plugs and he check the fuel pump and fuel pressure. Has anyone had this problem?

    Hi, i got also problem with my a6 2.7. Yesterday i was driving at the highway and the engine turned off ahen i was cruising around 100km/h. And since yesterday we cant start the engine.
    At the shop after reading the ecu fault codes they told me that the ecu is the problem. The same like by you.But i dont thing the problem is the ecu. I checked to day 29,28and 34 fuses and they where good. I didnt checked volt by these fuses. So i will ask you to help me, did you have changed/checked any other (bad) fuses? Did you changed the relais from the fuel, nr 4, you talked about at your video. How did you find the bad connectors? Did you checked first some volt signal anywhere?

      Check your ignition regulars at your airfilter house, you got 2 of them. Test your ecu also.

      I Flash ecu's most likely not a defective ECU fur the car too turnover and all the things on the dash excetera work like your check engine light is on when you first turn your key to the accessory position with show you that the ECU is working also if you're pulling fault codes your ecu's working what I have noticed happened is the actual fuel pump had died on me and also the crank position or rpm sensor will cause no spark no fuel no start and then also you want to check the wiring to your ICM on top of your air box if you have a 2.7t icm's are known to go bad often you can chase a misfire around via fault codes if that's the only option swap the ICM and watch the misfire move this is just some FYI and ICM is only came on the cars with bolt on coils have anymore questions let me know. it seems that was Audi mechanics like to blame everything on the den ECU but most likely they're going to try to charge you $1,200 for an ECU or transmission computer and really fix something small and cheap now the transmission computer does go bad in these cars if the floorboards get wet because at least on the C5 A6 and B5 your TCU is stored in a black box under the passengers feet so then that kids yes I can see the TCU needing replacing an ECU also if being replaced and you have immobilizer the cluster key and ECU all need to have the matching data which is going to cost even more money and probably why they tell you you have to go to the dealership I delete that most of the times for people to save money it does make your car since up the bowl to being stolen if somebody who knows how to steal them does try to steal them which is just ridiculous so that is always an option most people like me charge about 20 to $50 to remove immobilizer depending on the vehicle this greatly reduce the cost replacement ECU from 1200 two 250 maybe four hundred at most depending on the source of the ECU my local junk yard sells them for about $40 plus the fee to go in and pull it good luck

      first you need to see the diagram see what else is fuse 29 powering.plus visual inspection .
