  • How to have a healthy pelvic floor for pregnancy and labor because a strong pelvic floor makes a HUGE difference in a healthy pregnancy, labor, delivery, and even postpartum recovery! I start out by explaining what the pelvic floor is, the importance of a healthy pelvic floor, and how to strengthen your pelvic floor muscles so that they are healthy and strong. I go over 4 simple exercises you can do at home to help strengthen your pelvic floor so that you can have a healthy pregnancy and labor.
Pregnancy puts a lot of strain on the pelvic floor along with labor and delivery, so having a healthy pelvic floor helps to decrease pelvic pain, urinary incontinence, and helps speed up the healing process postpartum. I have been going to a physical therapist who specializes in pelvic floor health during pregnancy and labor once a week for an hour long session. I've been learning so much and I have felt a big improvement in my pelvic floor strength so I wanted to share with you everything I've been learning in hopes that this information will also help you if you are interested in the health of your pelvic floor during pregnancy and labor.
4 home exercises to do every day to help strengthen your pelvic floor:
    1. Standing Kegels (Quick Contractions) - 2 sets of 8 reps
    2. Standing Kegels (Long Hold) - 2 sets of 6 reps
    3. Quadruped Kegels - 3 sets of 5 reps
    4. Quadruped Transverse Abdominis - 3 sets of 8 reps

Thank you for all this info! Question…have you heard of a pelvic floor that is too strong to where it impedes with pushing the baby? Like the muscles are too tight? Just curious!

Yes! My physical therapist mentioned that and so that’s why I’m doing that fourth exercise where I’m relaxing the pelvic floor the whole time while I’m breathing in and out: Quadruped Transverse Abdominis exercise. This is teaching my brain to relax the pelvic floor while activating my transverse Abdominis ab muscles to help push baby out
      And you are so welcome!!🤗❤️
