great job on the desk - I would highly reccomend some short speaker risers / stands to help decouple the loudspeakers from vibrating the desktop surface and contributing to any unwanted earky reflections / room modes / vibrations. Doesnt seem like it would, but trust, this can make a world of difference in the accurcy of your monitoring. Also, wall treatments are gonna be desirable if you want ot do any really serious mixing in there, but for now just get a couple of those nice speaker blocks (I believe auralux makes them) and youll be an even happier camper than you are. Sick desk!
Level of creativity: off the chart. It sure looks sturdy. How much does that thing weigh? I mean from the perspective that you can´t take it apart for transportation since it´s all glued. I´ve been thinking about making a desktop by gluing strips of wood, because there doesn´t seem to be wide enough ones available, or they are very expensive. And Yes on the studio tour!
Thanks!! Yah it detaches from the legs to transport. It is about 150 lbs so I can carry it alone but with 2 people it isn’t too bad. If it was solid hardwood it would be much heavier! Sweet I’ll be posting the tour in the near future!
Full studio tour is out! th-cam.com/video/BbsEb2lmdrs/w-d-xo.html

Glad you like the desk! I’ve got myself some foam pads under them now, definitely getting a nice clean sound
I missed how you did the legs or base with what looks like metal? Looks awesome!
Yah I had them made of steel and painted a mat black
Thank you
We’d enjoy a studio tour, great video your desk came out very nice.
It'll be coming out soon for sure!

I'd like to see this modified to fit say a 4U rack mount on both sides!
