    Thank you for watching! If you want to see the behind the scenes of my projects go check out my Instagram: instagram.com/makewithmiles/
    Also I've been getting a lot of comments saying that I should gone with a tube amp or gotten nicer parts, but I didn't want to spend a lot of money on this project, and the amp I used for parts suited my needs before so that's why I used it. I use it quite frequently and it works great!

    I am impressed by the attention to detail you have presented in every aspect of this piece of work, from the kumiko grill, to the kerf bent corners to the turned knobs with contrasting veneer insert, to the screen printing on the control panel face-- not to mention the quality video editing. I wonder how many different workers would be needed in the factory that originally manufactured this amp to do the work you have done? Your skills are apparent, but I am truly amazed by the focus, persistence and patience you demonstrate in all of the projects that you have made for this channel. Most excellent guitar amp..

    You may want to put some metal foil contact glued on the inside top so that the metal box makes a contact when it's fitted. The foil and the metal amp chassis box will then create a shield for radio frequencies/interference. Alot of old tube amps used that to shield, an easy fit! Nice work.

    I'm a hobbyist woodworker and musician. I've for years had top of the line tube amplifiers and cabinets and since I've transitioned to a pedal heavy setup the only thing that matters to me is a decent clean channel with headroom. So in my experience, the amplification/power section matters much less than the cabinet/speaker pairing and construction, so your re-use of an amp you already like and pairing it with a better speaker is a great move. For my home set up I made a 1x12 with a vintage greenback and then took the electronics from a really small and crappy sounding 10 watt marshall practice amp. The crappy sound came from the really small cab and cheap speaker, but 10 watts is more than plenty for a bedroom / practice set up and it had an actual spring reverb tank so when paired with my custom cabinet, sounds really good! I've also used it on almost all of my home recordings too so the moral of the story: save your money, make something yourself and play as much as you can!
    I really love your knobs, so clear.

      @generalnikkerson 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      He has an exceptional skill set for someone anyone's age. No offence, but I read all these comments and people keep repeating that it is always exceptional for being so young, exceptional for "his age" but I doubt any of the people commenting like this come even close to having his variety of skills. Therefore, I personally find this sort of addition a bit patronizing. I would simply say, he is an exceptional man with exceptional skills and patience, period.

  • @Qwitsoender
    @Qwitsoender ปีที่แล้ว

    Very nice build!
    Just one thought if you’re ever inside this thing again for whatever reason. If you ever open it back up, you might want to add some adhesive backed copper or other type of foil to the inside top (and part of the sides) of the box. Make sure it makes good contact with an unpainted part of the metal chassis. If needed scrape some paint off underneath where the chassis is screwed to the box. This does not require much work, but makes the amp completely shielded, making for less susceptibility to interference.
    I know, not necessary, but it did go through my head when watching.
    Again: top notch build!

  • @TSFAHTPS

I was wondering if you built the les paul you were playing? I build my own guitars amps and even cases from pretty much scratch. You should build a 5e3 tweed deluxe amp, you can get kits but it's much more fun to build your own chassis cabinet and all yourself, There is nothing better than hand made stuff that you build yourself. Thank you and keep building and playing music.

    Great results, really cool idea to improve that amp! I am not sure I would have thought to use the knobs to line up the panel and the veneer. The screen printing looks excellent.

      Thank you so much Dave! I had to come up with some solution and after a good bit of thinking that seemed like the most simple way to line it up ;)
