    The seam on a crimp connector is supposed to go opposite the "knuckle". If you crimp into it, it splits open.

    Great video! I just finished rewiring my 1984 Goldwing, what a nest of wires that was. I ended up replacing the stock connectors with deutsch connectors. I really enjoyed the simplicity of the deutsch connectors. The crimp you did with the non insulated barrel connector reminds me of the crimp done by the iwiss deutsch connector crimper. Well worth the extra money for the peace of mind of solid, weather proof connection.

    Wish I'd had this info 30 years ago when I was working on my bikes. Now I'm too spent for riding or working on bikes. Good news is: I listen and learn from guys like you then relay this knowledge to those less experienced and they think I'm really smart 😅 After the accolades I (graciously) let my audience know of channels like yours to further their education.
    Yeh, I can't do anymore but I can still learn. Thanks be to guys like you. And I do thank you.

    Hello TJ….
    Can you please tell me the differences ( if there are any ) Between a shadow and a steed?
    I read somewhere that the name steed is for Asia and shadow is the name for the US and Europe.
    Otherwise, it’s the same bike …
    I would appreciate your knowledge
    Thank you

      steed is a shadow. the shadow line encompasses many displacements, the steed is the export version of the VT600 or VLX and is only 400cc instead of 600.

    whats the reasoning on not using autozone blade connectors? i melt off the plastic pieces though so i can see the crimp area to get the proper side crimped, slip on some heatshrink before you crimp and its just as clean. staggering the cuts though, thats the niche advice i came here for.

    This is a question for everyone. I replaced the turn signals on my VT 1100 C2. I swapped from incandescent to LED and I’m not experiencing any hyper flash, but when I go to cancel the turn signals all four flash at the same time I have a flash relay on the way, I have also heard that it could be a backflow of electricity problem but everyone that I’ve seen on TH-cam says that you have to put the diodes between your indicator dash lights and your flash relay well my bike doesn’t have an indicator dash because we chopped the wiring, everything still works, except all four blinkers turn on at once any help at all from anybody that might’ve had this experience would be great.
    Love you pookies.

    Dumb question do you have any suggestions on how to switch rims on a motorcycle for a new person because I have a 2006 honda shadow vlx 600 dlx and It has spoke rims on it and I want to switch them to a different kind so I don't have to deal with tube's and can run tubeless tires

    • @skottlee8959
      @skottlee8959 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I suggest taking your new rims and tires to a bike garage to have them mounted. I've tried to do everything myself including changing the water pump but I'll never change the tires by hand again. It's an enormous pain in the ass start to finish and I scratched the rims badly. You can take your wheels off the bike to save most of the labor cost as long as you have a safe way to jack it up.
      The shadow sabre has cool mag rims that run tubeless you could look into too

    • @DareDevil0504
      @DareDevil0504 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @skottlee8959 I'm not worried about changing tires I just did that a few months ago I want different rims and don't know the difficulty of getting the right axle hole size so my axle fits I want like a 5 or 6 spoke rim instead of wire spokes so I can go tubeless

    I bought a 1988 Honda shadow 600 for 400 bucks the other day trying to get the starter to engage not sure what the issue is. I bought a new siliniod and tried that and it just buzzed and the starter won’t spin I tried jumping the starter with cables and it spins but isn’t making contact with the fly wheel I think. And when opening up the starter I saw no gears where striped and all looked good. If any one has any tips they would be appreciated. And it shouldn’t be the battery I bought a brand new 120 cca battery

      Dude that sucks! We are so sorry but we just cannot help diagnose bikes via TH-cam! It usually ends up being an exercise in futility and frustration. Plus, you wouldn't want a stranger on the internet diagnosing your bike! One would really need the bike in person to properly diagnose, and we are not a service or repair shop.
      We recommend you check out our other youtube videos (theres a TON!) and the support page at shoptjbc.com
      We also offer a tuning e-book, here's the link- shoptjbc.com/blogs/news/performance-tuning-book-lp
      If you are still not able to figure out the issue, we recommend you take it to a local shop! Wish you the best and do fun shit!
