Luckily an XS650 has a super simple harness depending on goals. A chopper with a PMA setup is like 5 wires!

This is a super video since the electronics is the thing i think is the hardest to get a good grasp off. It's also a lack of good videos on the issue since it mostly is a focus on the mechanical side of things. Great watch

I'm hoping this winter I'll tear my bike down more, since I'm pretty sure my 44 yo radiator fan is shot, that maybe I will clean up my wiring after I add the wiring for the electric fan, and maybe grip warmers.

Very in-depth and informative video BJ. Last time I did a harness from scratch I ran all the wires to and from where I needed them then used sewing thread at regular intervals to hold everything together where needed. Then various connectors fitted and final connections made then took the whole harness off the bike and wrapped it all up with self amalgamating tape. The handy thing with that type of tape is you can work it around where you have branches in the harness so that everything is protected and waterproofed. Like all things, there will be various ways of doing things. Nice to see Seth keeping busy in the background.

@@BrickHouseBuilds for sure you know best how you perfer to master the whole thing, and I have never done anything as complex as e.g. this bike project. Just that the way my planning mind works I need some kind of visual overview (meaning not only words in lists) to grasp the whole thing and then starts picking the order of the chunks to be done. Also has something to do with my background I guess, at work in the past there was always full system project specific connection diagrams to review and understand before getting started.
I did see that you have a nice folder with diagrams for the component level, I guess that is "all one needs" when having done as many projects as you have. I much admire your skill for the work you show us on this channel!
