    Mine had two issues, a tail on the back of rivet inside mag well, that dug into mags, and only poly or KCI steel mags fit it. Otherwise, it's actually assembled straighter and tighter than my PSA Gf3, and 103.

    Got pioneer forged series 5.56 fixed stock AK last year in late December of 2022, and it's a great rifle, very well built, fit and finish is excellent, no issues, the hammer could be tuned and polished a little more, but over it runs, and it's reliable. I have mine outfitted with my Zenitco furniture.

      @@zombieslayer4368 no prob, I'd definitely want a PSA AK-101, but I have been seeing a common issue with PSA AK-101 having improper barrel or chamber placement they don't have the barrel properly rotated, and or the bolt is out of spec, but I hope they fix the issue with that, I got a Riley defense ak-74 side folder coming soon bought it new from Riley defense so it has forged front trunnion, forged bolt, and carrier, chf cl barrel, but I wish I could have gotten there Bulgarian 74 kit builds they did first 4 years ago.

      @@zombieslayer4368 you know , you don’t really need a metal mags . This is 2023 polymer technology . PAC Mags are constructed of a Lexan material, which is an all-black, high-quality military spec approved substance that is supported by the European Union and used by many European forces. Again Lexan is the strongest and can withstand impacts to such a degree that it won't crack. Instead, it displays resistance by bending.

    Got one for a beater truck gun and have shot several 3-gun matches with it, runs flawlessly. I am shooting corrosive ammo through it and the finish is perhaps not the best, so make sure you flush it with a garden hose or the internals will rust. It is not as nice as the FB-Radom ak I have, but it works as advertised and has never let me down so far. Poly and og steel fit perfectly, the Koreans fit, but are just a smidge snug but nothing that will not polish out over time. People shit on these guns, and the originals might have had issues, but from what I am seeing in reviews and with my own they have fixed their QC issues.

    I have the 2022 cast model but in an under folder configuration. I’m at about 1500 rounds or more now. Not anything out of the ordinary as far as wear except for some slight mushrooming on the back of the carrier tail. I don’t care if it’s cast or forged as I will probably not shoot it enough for that to become a factor. If the casting is done correctly they’re fine. I have a zpap, wasr and another built on a Romanian parts kit. They’ll all probably out live me lol. Soon you’ll have all the AK elites chiming in on how bad Pioneer is and that they are trash. They most likely say something like “a friend of mine had this or that and it exploded” or they’ll say “they are trash and I’d never spend my money on them”, all of which shows you they’ve never owned one or most likely never fired one, so they are speaking from what they heard someone somewhere say that someone said they heard someone say something about saying something lol. I’ll give you some advice though, buy some go/no-go gauges and (correctly) check the head spacing every few hundred rounds. Keep it clean and lubed and enjoy it. When you get further down the AK rabbit hole you’ll start look into build kits , dates, if they were from a certain conflict, Yugo, Russian, Egyptian, Romanian, German and so on. You’ll start looking for particular forge markings and blowing more money than you would on a high end AR. I have a WBP Jack on order now and hope it comes in soon. I’m probably done after that because they are just fun and not my go to. Good luck with it, and keep up the content!!

    • @marvnation924
      @marvnation924 ปีที่แล้ว

      How does your Pioneer compare to the ZPAP? I've been looking at the M85/M90's but also these Pioneer Arms AK's and even the PSA AK's since I want one in 5.56 and undecided about which one I'd like. The Pioneer seems to overall run for less money.

    • @Thechameleonofall
      @Thechameleonofall ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@marvnation924 the ZPAP is in a different class. The pioneer is nice and for majority of the people looking at getting into the AK world for the first time, they are great. They are affordable, look good, function well and so far have held up just fine. Almost 2000 rounds and not a single issue. Would I rely on my Pioneer if my life depended on it, maybe lol. The ZPAP is something you would most certainly have for the rest of your life. They are built like tanks. Bigger front forged trunnion, great barrel, reliable fire control group. They are meant to go the distance. After owning a Pioneer Arms AKM and shooting it a good amount, I would buy another one with confidence. I’m actually looking at getting the same one but with the forged trunnion. I may take my cast trunnion Pioneer through a class and see how it does. People will always look down on certain products because of past affiliations or bad experiences with a company. Most of the people who make comments have never owned or have they even ever fired the firearm they are trashing. So far, I would say that they (Pioneer AKM’s) are good for what you pay for. They are well built. As for the ZPAP, it’s not comparable. Time will tell. If you had to choose one, and only one from those two options, I’d go with the ZPAP, you would not be disappointed. If you’re just looking for something cool and to take to the range and want to save some money for ammo, don’t hesitate to try a Pioneer Arms. They are not partners of IO anymore, they are an actual Polish company and are built in Poland, shipping to the US for the finishing. They are not FB Random but they are located in Random Poland and actually use some of their old facilities and equipment.

    • @marvnation924
      @marvnation924 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Thechameleonofall Thank you for your well written response. I don't buy firearms very often and I always plan to keep them for life so I'll definitely probably go with the ZPAP when the money permits lol. Im new to AK's and I wanted a 5.56 rifle that wasn't an AR (Had enough of them in the military for a while) and was looking at a Ruger mini-14 but theyre going for so much now that I could spend a little more and get a ZPAP. Would like a 16 inch barrel option but I'll probably get the 18 inch with the M90 I was looking at.

    • @Thechameleonofall
      @Thechameleonofall ปีที่แล้ว

      @@marvnation924 you would be happy with either the ZPAP or the Pioneer. If you go for the Pioneer Arms, make sure you get the “Forged series” that has a forged front trunnion. I don’t mind casting as long as the QC is done right. But for longevity, go forged. Pioneer makes 5.56 AK’s that are forged. And they are beautiful.

    • @Thechameleonofall
      @Thechameleonofall ปีที่แล้ว

      @@marvnation924 I’m actually trading mine for a Norinco in 5.56. It’s old but so nice. They are really hard to get mags for but just to be able to say I have a Norinco lol. Foreign militaries have used cast bolt/ carrier in their Ak’s that have forged trunnions and shoot full auto for decades and run perfectly under more pressure💯

    This is definitely a gamble, yes. You could have saved up maybe $200 more for a WASR that we know will last longer than your grandkids will be around. These Pioneer Arms guns are too new and haven't been around long enough, they use the "Radom" name as a marketing gimmick in the hopes that new AK guys buy them instead of saving up for WBP or FB Radom Beryl rifles.
    What could go wrong with a forged trunnion you ask? Palmetto State Armory AKs, for example, use forged trunnions - but they do not mate them to their receivers correctly or use the correct swell-neck rivets when assembling the rifle just to save a buck.
    You could have a gun whose rivets fail on you in 500 rounds or in 5,000 rounds. 5,000 rounds for an AK is a warm up or a break in period.
    If there are multiple instances of these Pioneer Arms guns shooting 10,000 rounds no problem then maybe we've got a good deal going on, time will tell.

    I.O had a lifetime warranty too and lifetime = your lifetime or the lifetime of the company which seems to be short with low tier quality firearms manufacturers. Now an I.O lifetime warranty = no warranty since they went under. All the low end crap seems to have a lifetime warranty, and the High end that does not usually require warranty in 1 lifetime has 1 or 2 years. Rather buy a quality firearm for more than a "lifetime warranty" for cheap. I hope the gun works out for you with actual thousands of rounds down the barrel, a few trips to the range every month or two is not really going to break a deforming part as noticeably quick. We all have been burned with a purchase in the past and it's usually a decent idea to save a bit more and have a firearm you can appreciate knowing it will serve you reliably everytime you pull the trigger. Lowest I'd go for an AK is a wasr or a zpap. I have a zpap, wbp jack and galil ace and they are all rock solid and I am shooting one of them 5 days a week in my backyard.

      I appreciate your honest opinion and feedback! This is my first AK so I was looking for something more budget friendly to start off with! Pioneer arms have been around for more than a decade+ and have recently just upped their game in the Quality department! They’ve had past issues using cast trunnions but are now using forged trunnions, new bolt Carrier and upgraded trigger group! Having said that and including the legit lifetime warranty I feel confident pulling the trigger! So far I’ve shot around 400 rounds no issues, so I guess we’ll see how she holds up after 2k+ rounds! Couldn’t pass up on a great deal! Thanks for checking out the channel and giving some honest feedback!💯😁
