    I very much enjoyed watching this. I recently got back into beading and this was the perfect refresher. Even as a hobbyist I recommend investing in the multi-step plier and make a pair of earwires at the same time so you have exact mates.

    Lots of great info - very interesting. The 1st pair looked so easy to do...in fact I shall try to make myself. Many thanks, much appreciated!

      Hi! We like the Wire Rounder tool, but give it a shot! We love to hear about how about viewers experiment with other ways of creating jewelry!
      Here's a link to the Wire Rounder: www.beaducation.com/zen_products/64-wire-rounder-set

    This was so helpful! I want to make my own earwires, but I was wondering if there is gold colored stainless steel wire sold in spools, or even titanium. Do you sell that?

    • @beaducation

    Would you address the ‘work hardening” of the wire and the importance of doing so?

    • @beaducation
      @beaducation  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Work hardening is the process of strengthening of the metal. It's important when making components like earwires because you want the metal to hold its shape.

    how do you know the tip is smooth enough to go through the person's pierced ears? I do not have pierced ears and worry if I a am sanding and using the cup burr correctly?

    • @beaducation
      @beaducation  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Leslie Flores I just go by touch. I feel the end after I have sanded and make sure it's not scratchy. Maybe wipe it along the back of your arm and make sure it feels smooth enough.

    What is the name of tutorial for dangling earrings at end of this one

    • @beaducation
      @beaducation  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      We do not have a tutorial for those earring. They are just an example of what you can make using the loop making technique. We do however, have a video on making spirals. Which you can see is at the bottom of the earrings. It's called perfecting the wire spiral.

    Can you make ear wires out of eye pins?

    • @beaducation
      @beaducation  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Im sure you can, but if it's long enough. We recommend using wire so you know you have plenty to work with :)

    • @olivia7sam
      @olivia7sam 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Beaducation Thank you. I actually was able to make some out of eye pins. I was wondering more about the type of wire that used in eye pins and whether it’s safe for ears.

    can we use a paper clip to make earrings?

    • @beaducation
      @beaducation  7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hmmmmm, I don't recommend that. Most people are allergic in some way to base metals and the metal used to make paper clips will irritate your ears.

    • @treesapgrl
      @treesapgrl 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Maybe you could use a paperclip to make a little charm or pendant for a long chain; something that won't be directly on your skin is my advice.
