    As a hairstylist, I can assure you that adding purple shampoo is pointless. And for the people who think this is more damaging than a bleach bath, not true. Just make sure you follow with a good nourishing moisturizing hair mask after. Leave it on for 15-20 mins. Or if you do this at night and you're tired, you can sleep with the hair mask and rinse in the am.

      @@uhhhahhh4793I’ve used this method several times, and it even lifted my natural hair color several levels, with less damage than bleach. My plan is to do this again tonight, using 10v just to brighten my roots. The key is to add an oil booster to the mix, as well as apply to wet hair. My guess is if the base hair had been wet it would have saturated and lifted more so there wouldn’t be blotches. Hope this is helpful!

      It’s hard to tell cause I always have a lot of fall out since I leave my hair curly. But I don’t think it should be falling out due to it 🤔 mine was just very very dry.

    Okay so I was desperate to get my stubborn purple out and tried this (without the purple shampoo and equal parts dawn, baking soda and developer).. it worked AMAZING!!! Got me back to my natural dirty blonde (I used a semi-permanent dye over natural) in just one 20 minute sitting. I also have curly hair (3a curl type) my hair is a little dry and definitely very frizzy right after but overall not bad.

      The developer helps “lift” the color from the hair. In this case, it helps release the pink color. Hope this helps!

    Is this method better than an actual hair color remover brand product? please answer

    • @vcoral87
      @vcoral87  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well I can’t say really, since I’ve never tried hair color remover. The point of trying it was to avoid the bleach that most color removers have in the ingredients. I’m sure a color remover would work more certainly since that’s what it’s marketed for. This was just an experiment to see if I could avoid actual bleach. If you’re hair isn’t extremely compromised in it’s health, you wouldn’t necessarily have to avoid the bleaching elements in color remover. This is just what I did since my hair was in a fragile state from previous bleaching. I hope this helps!

    I tried only dawn dish soap in the shower once, and it made my hair sooo soo dry. Now I didn't know about the baking soda, or developer.. but dawn alone did nothing to remove any of the Blue Ion semi-perm from my hair. I've had this blue for over a year now and I want it out. I'm going to try a color remover as soon as it gets here.

    • @vcoral87
      @vcoral87  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Color remover might be more efficient for blue, since it normally has some bleach in the mix. If I had known my hair was gonna feel like the Sahara desert, I probably would have just done a bleach wash 😅 good luck with the removal, sending you positive vibes! 💖
