    Something else worth mentioning about the side sand enlargers, is if you have a GS/GSA Low, most of the side stands wont work, they clash with the subframe. You need to buy a Low specific one, and they are hard to find.

    • @justthewayitis
      @justthewayitis  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good morning KC, welcome to the channel, I’m only 6 foot your a fair bit taller so I don’t know if my input is going help so maybe some of the other taller subscribers can jump in and offer some extra advice. But I did install bar risers which really do help open the cockpit a little. As for screens you may need to experiment a little you might find that at your height your head is up and above the noise and buffering. The GSA has taller suspension which will probably suit you, seat wise again you might be able to try the different height options at your dealership they are generally very helpful.
      Sorry I can’t be more helpful in this area.

    Watched about 10 of your vlogs now Carl. Question if I may, I may have missed it. Have you thought of changing the exhaust silencer to Akropovic? Thoughts in anyway, or which video covers this? Thank you.

    • @justthewayitis
      @justthewayitis  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi, I actually like the sound the standard system makes but moving the Akropvic end can might improve the sound. I’m not sure if it offers any real weight benefit but it certainly looks great, but the price seems very high.
      The full system would offer a small performance benefit but the increase in noise is for me at least a negative.
      Many owners fit the Jekill and Hyde system you can find lots of reviews on TH-cam.
      Hope that helps

      @@justthewayitis Perfect, thanks for your thoughts. The Akropovic is slightly noisier I believe and also actually weighs a little more. So it's not for weight saving. For me, I like the look of it and smaller. But still undecided. Anyway, thanks for your time.

      Hi Ralf, I'm currently in Norway on tour, so I do not have full PC access just my phone.
      But I found it quickly on Amazon.de by using the following.
      Seller: ‎QJY-Motor Part-Store
      Part: RF-013
      Currently they have 3 in stock for 65€.
      Delivery time is 4 days.
      The other thing is, if you can find this exact part, you can check the images, because their are several other sellers with the same part for sale for the same price. Perhaps in the UK they sell under a different name. But the part above is the exact one I installed and its been great, no issues and a good saving for a plastic part we dont see once its fitted.

    Hi Carl, as an owner of a GSA, I find the topics of your vids interesting and informative. You come across explaining things in simple and understandable terms. I wonder if you have in mind making a vid on the Satnav VI. There’s a lot of controversy on this device as it seems that issues of “ghosting” affects it (I myself am experiencing it) and neither BMW or Garmin want to accept liability once the item is out if warranty. What are your views and/or experience/recommendations? Thanks and continue your excellent work.

      Hello Alcakaja and welcome to the channel. Have you tried cleaning the screen properly using Glasses Cleaner you can buy it in most towns in Opticians. The key to success is
      Along the edges between the glass and the frame especially as this is the main cause of ghosting.

    Carl hello, I am the owner of my third gs, now I have the latest version 1250. Question, when driving slowly, the steering behaves like a digital example, there is a steering stabilizer below, which is too stiff and prevents clean driving at low speed. They said at the service that there is no way to set the hardness, that everything is programmed. It bothers me and I ask you if you can give your opinion. I follow all your episodes and congratulations.

    Hi Carl, what was your experience with the copy of the MRA X-creen you fitted? Did it work for you? And after some touring, what did you think of the quality of the screen and brackets? Do you still have it on your GS or have you now replaced it with the original MRA X-creen (or maybe one by Puig)?

    • @justthewayitis
      @justthewayitis  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Alexander, it actually works brilliant and has fixed most of the noise issues I had. I probably should fit the Xscreen original but it does seem to be holding up really well for 20 something euros.

I have tried to determine which tank bag you are using, but cannot find it in any videos (yet).... Would you kindly share the details for that? Thank you. @justthewayitis  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Kathryn and welcome to the channel. The tank bag is an older model from SW Motech called the Evo Engage, I decided on this because of is small compact size and its ability to attach a Map pocket (again from SW) to the top which is a must have for me on tour. I have used it all year round for approx 4 years and it still looks almost new. Their is a new version called the Engage 2.0 but I'm not sure if it allows map pocket mounting like the original one. Have fun choosing. BTW they do also have a GS specific version which looks great but for me it's just a little bit big.

    Nice of you to put alternative ebay/aliexpress components out there. When it comes to performance/protection parts, sure go for the big brand parts for peace of mind. But for things like windscreen, decals, footpeg cover, china counterparts are very much worth the money.
    Some people will complain about chinese copycats, but hey why bother buying $200 headlight cover when the $30 works just fine. 13:13 Headlight Protector - It looks good. I'm also looking for something like this. Unfortunately, not everything is allowed in Germany. In my case, I have cornering lights and the plexiglass could disturb the oncoming cars because this glass could deflect the light. In addition, if it is fixed, it can be difficult to clean. In Germany, the accessories must have an "ABE"-No. (if the machine is moved onto the street) otherwise, the police can go so far as to confiscate the motorcycle.
    But if you drive the motorcycle off-road, you can build almost everything on it without any problems.
    Great video!
    Greetings from Cologne.

      Hi Miguel, this is a common problem owners report and several people here have also commented on, here on the comments section.
      First change the suspension setting from Dynamic back to road... and test your bike again.
      If the vibration is reduced it may indicate that the spines on the drive shaft need to be re-greaed by BMW at the first service.
      Second a lot of owners report that the vibration is reduced when they change the tyres from A41 which you have... to something more sports touring like the Continental All Road or the Pirelli Scorpion trail 2.
      Do the first test above and let me know.

    Or perhaps street legal, as long as you do not ride at night? My understanding is that they are not, because they alter the light projection. But this is why they might not be legal for night riding.

      Hallo Max, wenn die Teile kein ABE haben, dürfen auch nicht verbaut werden, wenn die Maschine auf die Straße bewegt wird. In Gelände geht alles.
