Hi Hartley and welcome, thank you for sharing I'm sure it will help other owners. I can imagine the black rack looks great on the triple black, and as you have found the Givi top boxes are good quality. Best wishes Carl

Hello WikeyWikey, and welcome. Thankyou for the compliment 👍. Currently working on an episode that the channel subscribers have asked for... several times. Dynamic ESA explanations. Best wishes Carl
I too have the R1250GS in Triple Black, I had concerns for the factory rear rack. It's a cantilevered design made of polymer (plastic) with metal inserts at the bolt attachments. The supports under the rear rack are soft plastic (?). I have the GIVI hard cases. If you can find one, SW-Motech makes a metal support that adds to the soft support under the rack.
Hi Rik, thank you for sharing your experience, I'm sure it will help other owners find the perfect solution. Hope your enjoying your Sunday. Best wishes Carl
I've tried both the Givi racks but found they interfered with the pillion space (even though my wife is of a relatively small stature and very slim) so then went for a Cymarc plate which moves the rack back 20mm or so which made loads of difference but the box when fully loaded bounced around along with the rack to a worrying amount. So in the end I fitted an Altrider rack (similar to the alloy Givi item) and moved the pillion saddle to the forward position. This seems to be the best compromise. On my previous 1250GS I had a vario box and rack which was really good but too square in its shape and of course, we could only fit one helmet in it. A foot note I see you have a Q-Bag below your rack, only have it fitted when you need it or make sure you've got paint protection on the silver plastic deck underneath as mine took all the paint off and made a right mess.
Hi Darren thankyou for sharing your thoughts on topbox options and mounting options, a lot of owners are not really aware the passenger seat has two positions, so your comments will help others. I will check my Qbag tomorrow and see if it has damaged the paint work. Thankyou 👍Carl

I have an R1250 GSA and decided to move to the Givi Trekker Outback 58L top box. I've just watched your video on the Givi Top Box. I had exactly the same box on my 1200GS. I have a 1200GSA now. You commented that the box was difficult to take off and carry with your big hands. I found that it was far easier to pack everything into a soft bag and put that into the Givi. When you go into the hotel overnight all you have to do then is lift and carry the soft bag leaving the Top Box on the bike. I found that to far easier the taking the whole box into the hotel with you.

I would need to purchase the same rear rack as yours ($AU 690)before it will all fit together. Givi’s literature does not specify any of this. I had to go into my local BMW dealer to establish this. Just waiting to hear what the local distributor I purchased the gear from and Givi Australia come back to me with.
Also I have exactly the same gear as you have because I used the part nos you supplied. I have the R1250 GS Rallye ‘22 build. Not having a go at you at all. Just providing feedback because I know you would be interested.
Hi Mark, good morning. it sounds like you have had to do lots of your own research to find a solution that works for your bike/rack configuration. Like you say it's a shame Givi dont make it easy to understand what is needed. I hope Givi help you out a little with the plate you need. Carl
Hi Mark, I think its great you are sharing your experience because it will help other owners that have the same configuration as you, and probably save them a lot of time trying to figure out what to buy and what to install. Thankyou Carl

I had a givi v47, but I did not like it at all. I can not place in one helmet sometime, I had to get off everything put the helmet in, then took back my stuff. Then I bought a givi 58 l alu top case, it is way better, much bigger.
Hello El Don, thank you, several owners have recommended the 58L version is very good. Perhaps I will try this.
Best wishes Carl
10:38 why Givi changed this compared to the V46. Shame… 😅
Yes....agreed
Its definitely possible to lock your key in the top box and then have to ask your wife to drive 75 miles with the spare….a friend told me ;-)
Hi Marco...... LOL.... yes indeed, i once dropped my wife off for an appointment (she had the BMW key in her jacket) i then drove to a park to enjoy the afternoon and wait .... and then had to ring her and ask someone to bring her back to me. DDDdhhh. We all make mistakes. thankyou for sharing, Carl
Givi boxes remind me of a lady's , 1980's , makeup kit.
LOL....thankyou Jim for my afternoon laugh. You are correct...

Hi William and hello, welcome to the channel and thank you for saying hello. Hope you are enjoying the series. Carl
Hi Fella. Really have enjoyed your vids on the GS with all the accessories etc. Just moved to Scotland where the roads are brilliant and intend to buy a GSA in the very near future and your findings and advice are a great help. Want a 1250 but funds look like it will have to be a 1200 and cant wait to start getting the accessories. Best and keep safe, Old Bloke.
Hello Old Bloke, and welcome to the channel, pleased to hear you are enjoying the series. the 1250 is expensive but if you could find a good 1200 I am sure you will be very happy. The slightly older 1200 Rallye with the blue frame looks stunning (2017 I think), and I was looking at one of these before purchasing the 2022 version. Let me know what you decide to buy and enjoy those lovely empty roads in Scotland. Best Wishes Carl
