Im Australian Indigenous and love your videos, I think more people need to get out of their backyards and explore the country! Aslo learn a bit about Australias history. x
Hey @tanyamead, I really appreciete that. Thanks heaps for watching and commenting. It really is an interesting topic, I often say Australias history is full of the admirable, the uncomfortable and the downright horrible.
I've been watching your videos for a few months now, and I have to say I am shocked you don't have more subscribers! The videos are so professionally made, your philosophy is wonderful, and I learn a ton. I'm an American, and you have really given me a deeper understanding and image of Australian history, that really is overlooked over here. Great work, keep it up!
Cheers mate I appreciate that. Well the channel is only 5 months old and considering I've gone from 0 to almost 10k subs in that time, I'm pretty damn happy with the growth of the channel. Good to see some international audiences as well.
Being here in Eastern Canada, this video was an enjoyable viewing experience and an exposure to a lifestyle of settlers in a past age on remote shores. Merci.
Hey Luke!... I'm a 60 years old Greek-Australian, born here in Melbourne but lived almost all my life in Greece... I've been back for the last 8 years, and you don't know how much your videos mean to me... I'm also a bushcrafter and a history buff... so there you have the all picture... You're my favored Time Traveler... thank you for taking us with you to your jumps...
Thanks for that mate! History and bushcraft really are interesting topics aren't they. What kind of natural landscapes do you get over in greece? Thanks for watching the vids.
Mate. Ignore the negative people. Be true to yourself, your content is awesome and has a different flavour. nice to see someone having a crack and enjoying the experience. Keep it up and we will still keep watching. Loving what you do, Cheers.
Hey Luke, gotta thank you for something. In that video you did with your little boy up in high county overnight, You said you are not using hollow wood for the fire because they are home to millions of small living things. And you used the same fireplace that was already there because you didn’t wanna hurt the vegetation any further. Thanks for that mate!. There I learnt something from you.
Hey that is great to hear! Thanks so much for that. Funny you mention that .. I was camping this week and was collecting wood, only to pick up a piece that looked a bit too much like a hollow habitat .. and throwing it back. Thanks for watching the videos.
Mate, I am a decedent of an Irishman who was transported to NSW in the early 1800's. He was then was able to escape to New Zealand and lived the life of a shore based whaler hiding amongst his Maori wife's people. Whalers and sealers were pretty interchangeable in those days. i think you have done a fantastic job with this video. Well done and keep up the great vids. - Ben
Hey mate, that is pretty amazing to be able to trace your ancestry to this country back to that time! Those would of been rough times. My ancestry only goes back to my grandfathers generation who migrated here from the netherlands. But my grandfather was a sheep drover in his young days. Love hearing the story of peoples different ancestrys Thanks for watching.
This episode was absolutely fantastic. I love how you used materials that you found and the use of the drone was excellent. I can tell you firsthand that fishing can be frustrating.
Thanks heaps mate for watching. Haha yeah and I was using a handreel with very thin line (more for trout fishing) I've caught plenty of wrasse at least off those rocks so was hoping to snag one of those (though obviously not very good tasting) hoping to start doing more fishing vids as the weather warms up.
Woow you are a great storyteller, when the image of the fire 🔥 came on I was imagining I was there with you! Loving all of this series of videos. Please keep them coming! Living in North Queensland this history of our country was forgotten by me,isn’t TH-cam so powerful when it helps to remember our history!
Mate, one of your best! Thoroughly enjoyed this one. That drone shot of you tinkering around the cave shelter was so damn cool. Really took me back to our little makeshift shelters on that coast 😄
Being honest, I don’t read a lot of the comments, maybe the top few occasionally, so I have not seen many negative words, but these people would have no impact on me watching these interesting, well produced and historically researched clips. So to all the “ brave” keyboard warriors, grow a set, have a go then tell everyone how you went, or the other option is don’t watch and please sit in the corner be quiet, while the rest of us enjoy. Mate the beard is the power 👍
I think you are definitely onto something with these narrative-driven historical camping videos, mate!! Have loved these nautical ones you've done :) really keen to see more!! Cheers!

First thing I got to say. Love Australia, your videos are fantastic. Want to some day make it to the outback . Appreciate your hard work, history you share is also interesting. Definitely adds to the videos. Keep it going. 😊👍

Love the knowledge and beauty you share in the videos. Had the same problem with my own lantern, you can still refuel by lifting the top sprung piece that holds the glass, remove the glass and wick holder and fill there. Bit fiddly but better than sitting in the dark! Keep up the excellent work.

Good on ya mate. Awesome channel. Interesting history about the sealers. I live in NZ and don’t know much about our sealing history (apart from their habit of ‘marrying’ local women) so I must have to read up. Must have been hard men and getting drinking water must have been so challenging. Thanks for another awesome video Bro 🇦🇺 🇳🇿
Cheers mate. I reckon NZ would have plenty of whaling and sealing history of there own. It's a pretty interesting topic (NZ history) and I'm sure there would be plenty of similarities.

Hey Luke loving your videos mate very unique Aussie content that actually teaches us about our history 👍 Some constructive criticism would have been good to warn people beach/coastal camping about the dangers of burning driftwood 😉
Been watching for a hot sec now - and the pride I have as a fan of your videos, to say we’ve all been here since you’ve been under 10k, is very palpable lol. Keep at the amazing content dude you’re easily on par with the folk that are in the millions of subscribers. Grade A stuff per usual
Great videos. Your ability and skills make refreshing content to watch. I’m more into bike packing regional areas of Australia. I plan to ride the Mawson Trail in SA next year. You have inspired me to try a few night wild camping. Have you ever thought of recreating early pioneers feats of using bikes to travel, like the early Shearer’s?
That's great to here! Actually I've never thought of doing an old bike trip .. but i've looked around for an old wheel barrow to cart my gear in. If you like bikepacking check out my mates channel www.youtube.com/@advanturest
Mate, just come across your channel(fist video). This is such professional film making, you can see/hear the amount of effort and good decisions on show. I can't believe that you only have this many subs. I had a channel all about bushcraft and traditional skills a while back. In the end I decided to can the channel and get off the forums as I felt that all the negativity and competitive side of the hobby got in the way of me enjoying my time outside. I really hope you carry on and find a way to navigate the BS because your channel is obviously something pretty special.
Cheers mate thanks for watching and I appreciate the comment. Yeah it's a strange thing isn't .. for the most part I find the outdoors community to really good and supportive. Most of the time the negative people don't tend to put out anything themselves though. I'll be doing this no matter though cause I genuinly love and enjoy it.
Cheers mate thanks heaps. I'd love to do a 2 - 3 day coastal survival trip. I might do a 3 day survival challenge trip this spring, but maybe in the high country now trout season is opened up.

Hey Luke loving your videos mate very unique Aussie content that actually teaches us about our history 👍
Some constructive criticism would have been good to warn people beach/coastal camping about the dangers of burning driftwood 😉
haha yeah all the toxins in them right? I had slim pickings on that beach and I needed that fire to go all night to keep me warm.
Loved this video mate! Great to learn more about the history also.
Yeah thanks for watching, plenty more hisotical style vids to come.
Haha tha's awesome, thanks so much! This video just pushed me over the 10k mark.
I won't be stopping the content anytime soon.

Hey mate that is great to hear!
Shame to hear about the negative comments mate, loving your videos!
Thanks for watching mate! I guess that's the nature of the net 😆
Love your videos!
Thanks mate.
Another ripper adventure great episode mate 👍
Cheers mate.
If you like bikepacking check out my mates channel

@@TheBeardedBushranger i’ve also just received my copy of “Wild Food Plants” by Tim Low 😀
Such a good clip mate really enjoyed it! Keep em coming 🤙 would like to see ya camping out for a 2-3 day adventure 👍 catch n cook styles
Cheers mate thanks heaps. I'd love to do a 2 - 3 day coastal survival trip. I might do a 3 day survival challenge trip this spring, but maybe in the high country now trout season is opened up.
yesssss look at this. beautiful.
The coastline really is beautiful!
I always enjoy your content !
Legend thanks for watching.
