Paint the calipers purple just like the hydro and wheel hub.
That would look sick. Or if they could get them powder coated

I 100% agree, though I might be biased because purple is my absolute favorite color. Also, use Royal Purple fluids because they're the best for when you're beating the shit out of your equipment.
I donno if DND does air Suspension, but if they do or will, they should call it AirDND

It was hanging by the Ebrake Cable. They were ditching the Ebrake anyways. So no worries.

@@mouaxiong8618 No it wasn't, it was hanging by the brake line.E-brake cable comes in directly behind and in the middle of the brake shoes.
@@mouaxiong8618 Are you... are you daft? The parking brake connects to shoes on the inside of the rotor. Calipers are not used for parking brakes. Have you ever actually taken a rotor off? Because I have. First thing you do is make sure the parking brake isn't engaged, because those inner shoes will prevent it from coming off.
Finally the genesis is coming together
Just a tip from a tech make sure you clutch in while using the hydro I’ve watched kids snap axles and grenade diffs from not doing this

You can get rid of the sound deadening that lines your floor panels using dry ice. Chris Fix did it in his recent weight savings video. Plus that stuff is a fire hazard
Robbie ive seen some people use bungie cords to hold the hydro as a parking brake. just park in a higher gear like 3rd or higher. that way there is no "launching" of said car i always park in second with hand brake applied
Noticed that you mention making a pin or something to hold the hydro back so you don’t roll when the car is parked. You better off leaving it in gear, I did the same in my Z and the lines slowly lose pressure and the hydro will stop locking up. Great video, can’t wait to see you use that thing in action but don’t rely on it too much, only really helps on fast intiations, otherwise just clutch kick it
if you want a handbrake you could always put a line lock on the hydro that you could use as a handbrake, I would recommend leaving it in gear when you use it but technically it would work

Yo I've been waiting for some genny content. Just put those dual caliper brackets on my genny, they didn't send me the axle spacer so I was stumped trying to figure out what I was missing. Keep it up guys 👍👍
Hey Robbie, I’ve seen a lot of drift drivers using bungee cords and stuff to hold the hydro back for parking, might be an affordable and hide-able solution for the genny!
Don’t worry about making a fancy way of getting the hydro to lock with no e brake, if it’s a dedicated drift car just use wheel chocks

I almost got one of these in 2013!!! I liked the power and acceleration but a buddy of mine talked me in to test driving BRZ/FR-S and I went with one of those.... can't say I regret it at all. But still find the funky oddball Genesis a charming car.
Sucks the track isn't allowing spectators yet was gonna try to meet Robbie and Chris and get some photos of all the cars at the track 😭 but love the video so excited to see the drift video and a g video!!

In Ireland we park in 1st/reverse gear (depending which way is downhill) with the handbrake on, then just push in the clutch when starting the car
I thoroughly appreciate the extra effort to use a hardline bender instead of just hand bending it. Hand bent brake lines CAN work, but you'd absolutely end up scrapping several attempts at a bend because you collapse the tube during the bend. Using a bender helps a lot in preventing that from happening. My vote is still to keep both the front and rear carpets. If you lose the panels to hold it down you can always opt to spray the very edges of the underside of the carpet with some contact adhesive to hold it in place. It's not ideal because it'll leave a residue if you need to pull them in the future, but some acetone will clean that right off. Carpet is cheap sound dampening and helps a lot in keeping a car a tolerable place to sit in. If you do decide on a full interior delete, then you'll want to undercoat it with a rubberized undercoating to replace the sound dampening from the carpets. Raptor liner is a very nice sprayable undercoating that does wonders for reducing panel resonance and you can still prime and paint over it if you want to color match your undercoating.
0:50 I’m in the auto transport industry and I once picked up a vehicle that didn’t have carpet in it. It had what I believed was bed liner or something similar.
Looked pretty sweet ngl and the bed liner covered all the “imperfections”
To park it, make some sort of lock. Just leaving it in gear puts pressure on the gear and should really only be used as a backup

The hydro brake I got off eBay had a lever lock that held In Engaged. But then again it’s an eBay hydro brake so quality definitely won’t be as good.

Sick install! But even if it's installed, you should avoid using the hydro when you're learning to drift. Gotta get the hang of drifting without hydro. Basics first!

i use those fittings that was on the hydro before. they work realy good if you want to take things appart. i didnt se them be used in hydraulic suff but in pneumatics they work realy good and hold nicely.
The parking brake system looks near identical to the 350z. Could’ve retained it if you kept the dust shield. Just needed to cut out space for the second caliper to clear.

You could get your brother to 3d print a latch for the hydro, so you can lock the wheels as a sort of ebrake
Wouldn't trust anything 3D printed. It'd be the single point of failure that causes the car to roll, considering Robbie doesn't put it in gear. 3D printing at home should never be used for critical components. Gauge pod cluster? Okay. Steering wheel? Not okay.
@@naoko3749I don't entirely disagree with you, because I'm fairly new to 3d printing myself, but as far as I know 3d printing has come a long way from brittle pla and abs
Pretty sure racing pads need a ton of heat before they bite which they won’t get unless you drag the brake a bunch. Should of went oem for the e brake since they have great initial bite.

Hey robbie im adli from Malaysia 🇲🇾 pro tip dont left your caliper hanging like that because your brake hose will damage the inside and 1 more if you bleed the brake or what ever leave the cap open it will release the air in it

Don't let the callipers hang on the break lines, that dmgs the lines I believe. Also everyone in Europe leaves their car in 1st always, it aint rolling anywhere, before starting just push the clutch easy :D

You should always leave a manual in gear when you park it!!
You may be required to remove the sound deadening pads stuck to the floor and driveshaft tunnel. The material it's made out of could be flammable. Here's a tip, dry ice.
Robbie, remove the sound deadening for weight reduction and making it clean! Use dry ice to cool it down and whack it with a rubber mallet. Watch ChrisFix's video on this theme :)

I gotta disagree with ya on the part where you said it isn’t meant for the track. If you get the R-Spec or Track trim then you get stiffer suspension, bigger sway bars, Brembo brakes and an LSD etc. Which makes the car WAY more track capable!

Sunroof delete and you need to bleed or adjust the hydro because the slack before locking is very long. Adjust the rod first and the bleed it I think you aren't using the hydro to full potential.

Yo I noticed that duct tape on the trees. Does that actually work? We've got so many caterpillars around my house and we have no idea how to stop them from eating the trees and crapping all over the front and back deck.
