As for the shifter feel, I totally feel you there! I’m pretty much doing the majority of things you mentioned in the video. Not sure if you’ve done it already, but the Megan Racing Transmission mount also makes a big difference with the shifting feel. And it’s a relatively inexpensive and simple modification too. Good video! I want to get this kit now for my diff!
It wasn't NVH as the reason why Hyundai decided to go that route. It was that they noticed small stress cracks devoloping in the subframe using both mounts so they used only one. Better to just upgrade to the sedan subframe.
I don't have the car anymore because I was offered more money than I paid for it, but I never had the starvation issue. When I did drive it on track, I would make sure that the oil level was a bit over always.
So I’ve got a bk2 automatic just kinda curious if this would let me get a little more consistency breaking the tires loose. Also how loud would you compare the whining noise to?
After 18 months, can you tell if the bushings have softened up a bit and if the whining noise is still the same/better/worse? Just installed mine (only 3, not the 4th mount as well) and immediately noticed the gear whine from the rear diff when driving.
I have these waiting to go into my bk1. Looks like I have my work cutout for me doing it on my back in the garage. I already have the coolerworx shifter and I actually disabled that stupid reverse beep so if you want to do that while you're under the car let me know.
@@mattwiser7982 The shifter is really nice. It isn't for the feint of heart though since it is chassis mounted. I bought mine in the original group buy for them. There is a noticeable amount of additional NVH since there are no rubber bushings anymore. For me, I added a custom longer shift knob because I thought the throw was too short for selecting the gates, which effectively made the throw longer. If you watch my dyno video I have street pulls where you can hear it when I shift. It sounds almost like a gated shifter. To get rid of the beep, you have to cut the reverse switch on the transmission. Wire the switch to a relay and run the power to reverse lights. They're normally controlled through the BCM which is why you have to create a new circuit.
Weekend Garage thanks for the info! I still think I want to do this shifter even with the additional NVH it will produce. I think that’s is the biggest issue with these cars. Once I get mine and install it I’ll definitely get rid of that beep as well, it drives me crazy... your car is pretty badass man, makes good power!
@@mattwiser7982 the shifter is most definitely worth it. The trans is by far the weak point since you interact so much with it. I only brought up the NVH because of how you noticed it with the rear diff mounts. My car is so loud I can't hear sh*t 😂 so it doesn't bug me.
With less movement of the components there is less torque loss. But the stiffer you go on engine mounts, transmission mounts and differential bushings the more noise, vibration and harshness increase (also called NVH for short).
i remember Orian from haggard garage did some double support mod to his Genesis. Of course he broke that as well. That V6 has power. ps How much weight would you say the sound deadening added ?

Went back and hit transmission tunnel with some adhesive foam; world of difference. Since then I found out that it's pretty complicated getting the results you want sound deadening. Nice work. To fix the wheel hop, you can get solid sub frame "bushings" or you can get the sub frame bushing shims from 3point8 Performance.

Hyundai's seem to be snubbed in the UK, and probably didn't make sense to make a RHD version for the few they would have sold.
